Hi everyone,
It's Jenny here and I'm back with another fall/autumn themed card, despite the fact that the weather here in New York is glorious and super hot! (Seems like we are getting another last gasp of summer!)
The card I'm showing today uses a very versatile design, and is so quick and easy. Several of the new Carta Bella stencils in stock, or many of the repeating pattern stencils could be used for this technique, and with so many Nuvo Mousse colors and glitter colours, the sky is the limit!!
The stencil I used today is the Carta Bella Fall Leaves stencil. I love the all over pattern this creates, and the detail in the leaves is fabulous. Stencils are one of my favorite card making supplies as there are so many ways to use them and they're great on the wallet.
To create this card I took a white card panel (I used sturdier cardstock 110lb) trimmed to slightly smaller than an A2 size card. I taped it down to a craft mat and then lay the stencil over top, adhering in place with more tape. This makes sure the card doesn't shift until you're ready. I then smoothed Nuvo Mousse in Indian Gold over the top, fairly thickly, using a palette knife. While this would be a great look on its own, I wanted a little more pizzazz, so before I lifted off the stencil, I sprinkled (with my fingers) some Wow! Sparkles Glitter in Pumpkin Spice on to some of the leaves. I love the new Wow! glitters, and this one - well its fall/halloween, so PUMPKIN! Yum :)
I lifted off the stencil carefully and washed it and the mat/knife before anything else (this stuff is very hard to get off once dry). While it dried, I created the focal image using the Altenew Super Script stamp. I stamped this several times onto the same white cardstock using my MISTI in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and then die cut it using the co-ordinating dies.
I also die cut a maple leaf from Vellum using the Neat & Tangled Maple Thanks die (I just used the outer die). I adhered the 'awesome' with foam squares over the maple leaf and then added a strip of adhesive behind the leaf to adhere to the card. The sentiment hides any adhesive that would show through the vellum (attaching vellum is SO HARD!)
As a finishing touch I created my own part of the sentiment with my vintage Dymo label maker which I popped up on foam tape at a jaunty angle to match the falling leaves. I then backed the entire panel onto a sturdy white card base with adhesive and called it done!
That's it from me today - any questions do let me know. I hope you have a wonderful week.
