Thanksgiving is hands down my favorite Holiday. For me, it is all about family, and friends (and food!) This year, I am blessed to be spending it with my parents and also some really good friends. Of course we will have lots of food too!
For today's project I made a card and a matching tag, since this will be given to our Thanksgiving Hostess this year (Mom). I made the tag to put on a bottle of wine as a hostess gift.
I started by twice stamping the beautiful cornucopia image and leaves from Sweet and Sassy Harvest Blessings stamp set. It's a great little set, perfect for this occasion. I colored everything with Copic markers. I cut out the cornucopia and the leaves.
On the card, I took a piece of watercolor paper and used Distress Inks to color the background. I used Mowed Lawn, Fired Brick, Mustard Seed and Seedless Preserves. I dried it with my heat gun, and then used the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches die to cut it out.
I heat embossed the Happy Thanksgiving sentiment from Altenew With Gratitude Stamp set using Gold embossing powder. I wound some gold thread loosely around my fingers and taped it to the back of the cut out Cornucopia image and then added Scotch foam tape and mounted the entire piece on my background.
This shaker tag is a little different, because it is see through. For the tag, I cut out the 2 shaker tags using the Dotted Shaker Tag set from Studio Katia. I adhered some Judikins clear acetate in each window and on one tag, I added two layers of Scotch Foam tape. I filled the shaker with sequins from Pretty Pink Posh, and put the two tags together. I added my second colored Cornucopia to the front and I stamped the "thanks" from Studio Katia Giving Thanks stamp set on clear acetate using black Stazon ink. I cut it out and mounted the sentiment on the top of the tag. I added a ribbon that will slip over a bottle of wine to dress up my gift.
That is all for today! I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving this week, and I will see you next Monday!
Cheers,
Jacquie
So very pretty. So for the background with distress inks...is that with water or just a distress foam applicator?
