Shaker Card using Cover Die

Hi, BRI friends! It's Dana here coming back with another Wednesday inspiration. Today, I'd like to share multi shaker card using several Altenew products. Here is what I came up with. For this card, I freely drew stripes using three colors of Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to bristol paper. I wiped the brush strokes gently with baby wipe. It tuned out gorgeous watercolor look as shown. I repeated this process total two times. I then die cut one of them using Altenew Watercolor Stripes Cover Die. Next, I started to create lots of shakers. I prefer foam tapes to make shaker card, but I prepared general clear plastic sleeve and fuse tool from We R Memory Keepers at this time. I fused plastic sleeve to A2 size firstly and put some clear sequins and fused again it following watercolor stripes of cover die. I adhered this shaker pouch between cover die and another watercolor panel using double sided tape. I then die cut 'hugs' words from white ca...

Party like Wild Animals

Good Morning Butterfly Reflections Ink Friends! Alix here this morning with my Project using some fun techniques.I usually create cards with soft colors. But this time I want to step out of my comfort zone to create a card that is interesting and great for either boys or girls for their birthday. This layout idea came up to my mind quickly. I created my background with Neat and Tangled Hexastar Stencil , Nuvo mousse in Cornflower blue and Aquamarine , and Ranger Texture Paste in Transparent Gloss. To create this background, I secured my stencil with a little bit washi tape over 110 lbs Cardstock. Then I mixed Nuvo mousse and Texture paste to apply over my stencil. At last, I removed the stencil and let it air dry for 20 minutes. To raise the center part, I cut the center of background using Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle die , then added foam tape to create the raised dimension. I colored all images from Neat and Tangled Wild ones stamp set with Copic marker...

Friendship card with Altenew Build-a-Flower Gardenia

HI guys! Erica on the BRI blog today with a big blooming card using Altenew’s Build-A-Flower Gardenia set. I have had this set in my stash since it was released and I haven’t used it until now but it certainly won’t be the last time. It’s gorgeous!!  I started out by stamping the big bloom twice on Neenah Classic Crest card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink . To colour in the flowers I used the red pens from Altenew’s Artist Markers Set A /Red Cosmos. I like colouring flowers using a flicking technique to create lots of textures, low and highlights on the petals. One of the flowers I made slightly darker as the idea was to place them in such a way that the shadow from the first flower would make the second one darker naturally. Does that make sense?  Anyway, I coloured away until I was happy with the flowers and then moved on to the leaves. These I decided to use inks with instead of the markers. I might have gone slightly overboard (*gasps of shock* Erica n...

Beary Big Adventure with MFT .....

Hello everyone! Happy Sunday!  Mayra here from Mayras Designs. I am so happy to be joining you today  with this set of cards I created.  I began with the adorable Town Bear stamp set  and coordinating Town Bear Die-namics set . I colored them in using my Copic markers. I went for a yellow, mint, blue and gray color combo.  I then used the   Die-namics Stitched Tag Corner   Square dies set   to create the frames for my  little bear images. I also used the Die-namics Grassy Hills  and Stitched Snow Drifts sets. For the base of the card, I used the Die-namics Stitched Rectangle die set. On the inside of the card, I created a pop-up scene. You can use the  Wide Die-namics  Pop-Up Elements die. For the scene on the inside, along with the Town Bear set I also  used the tree from the Sweet Forest Friends stamp set.The clouds from the Happy Haunting stam...

Swimming By with Sunny Studio Stamps!

Hey friends!!  I'm so happy to be joining the BRI blog today!!  I have a super fun card to share with you today so let's dive right in shall we?? One of my all time favourite stamp sets from Sunny Studio Stamps is the Magical Mermaids set.  Out of all the mermaid themed sets out there, I think this one is the cutest.  I stepped a little out of my comfort zone for this one and tried this masking technique for the first time. I started by cutting a heart mask using a sheet of Inkadinkadoo Stamping Mask Paper which was cut down to the size of an A2 card front and a heart die from Lawn Fawn .  I chose Bristol Smooth cardstock as I knew I wanted to do some watercoloring. I chose a bunch of the smaller images in the stamp set to fill the inside of the mask making sure to stamp over the edge of the mask. This is what I ended up with.. I chose a handful of colours from my set of Tombow markers to colour in the images first.  I then filled in and ...

Paper lace...

Hi, hello!  Norine here, with a couple of die cut cards to share.  You guys.  This Doodled Lace Cover die by Altenew isn't playing fair! It feels like such a cheat to simply die cut some cardstock, slap it on a card front and instantly have a beautiful card!  It should be harder than that! So, to elevate the amount of effort and thus feel better about myself (wink), after die cutting the complete background panel, I scissor-cut the main floral element from another die cut piece, colored it up with Copics (R01, R20, R32 for the petals and G12, G21, G24 for the leaves) and popped it up on foam tape.  I also die cut the word "hello" from grey card stock  with this Pretty Pink Posh Script die , stamped the word "friend" using the Altenew Halftone Hello set , and adhered that strip over the card background. Then I added some hole-less silver sequins and called it done! I really fell in love with that single floral element thoug...

Persian Beauty

Hello Crafty Friends!  Put simply - I adore this stamp set! Persian Motifs from Altenew - beautiful images, so easy to colour and the colour combinations you can use for this flower are endless! This stamp set looks stunning coloured with Polychrolo Pencils on Kraft card (by now you will know how much I love kraft card!!) and re-stamped and embossed in gold embossing powder. I began this card by stamping the 3 flower images from the set, using my original Misti, with Momento Potters Clay ink (a light distress ink will word too). IMPORTANT: keep your stamps in your Misti where they are - later you will go back and re-stamp the images, so they need to stay in place! Next I coloured the images using Polychromos. When the colouring was done, I placed the card back into my Misit and re-stamped the images with Versamark Ink , then gold embossed . I then die cut them with the corresponding dies . I made a frame from green cardstock with my mft Stitched Rectangles ...

Birthday Wishes

Hi, BRI friends! It's Dana here. I have cute birthday box card to share with you today. Let's get started! For this card, I started by die cutting box card elements from Pebbles Forever My Always Paper Pad using Lawn Fawn Shadow Box Card Die. All papers of inside & outside are from same paper pad. I die cut window and oval shape using same die set, too. I stamped lovely images from Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Friends stamp set with Altenew Permanent Black. I then colored them with Copic markers and Zig clean color real brush markers. I highlighted some pieces using Signo White and applied Nuvo Crystal Drops Ebony Black to eyes and Nuvo White Gloss to some dots and Nuvo Morning Dew to cake and muffins. It's not shown in the picture well, but I added sufficient sparkles to every balloons with Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen- Clear Overlay. For sentiment from same stamp set, I gold heat embossed it with Altenew Rose Gold Embossing powder. I then slig...

Happy Easter My Hunny Bunny

Hi Crafty Friends, Alix here bringing you an early Easter Card. Easter day is special to me and my husband. Because he proposed to me 7 years ago on Easter day. Guess where I found my engagement ring? In my daughter's Easter basket! He was going to bury the ring underneath the dirt at the park we first met. Then he worried that dogs will find and take it away. So he quickly hide it into the Easter basket at the last minute. The problem is my 2 years old daughter almost cried when I took the ring from her because she thought its from the Easter bunny. I will never forget that moment. hehe... Now let us talk about this card I made. I Picked Neat and Tangled Cottontail Cuties Stamp set for Easter scene. I stamped all images with Memento ink in Rich cocoa and colored them in pastel color combos with Copic markers. To create the background, I ink blended with Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in fossilized amber   and tattered rose on Tim Holtz Distress watercolor papers . I used two...

MFT 2018 Creative Olympics card making frenzy!

Hi guys! It’s is I, Erica, the glutton for punishment, on the BRI blog today. You might wonder what that refers to and I will get to that right this minute: The Olympics. Not the sporting event, no. I’m talking about this: There are four events for this and the deadline is later today, Monday 19th of Feb. For my card for today I decided to participate inMFT 2018 Creative Olympics | Event #4 - Speed Cardmaking. Oh boy... I really, really do not know why I do this to myself... Way back in the day when I was at school, I used to put off assignments using the argument that I work better under pressure. It was a load of rubbish back then and it certainly is a load of rubbish now! The only speed events I take part in these days are cake eating and manic cleaning 10 mins before someone is coming over..!  Well, anyway, I went ahead with my bad idea BUT thought I’d at least come up with a design for the card before I pressed the ‘start’ button on my stopwatch. I do not have a pr...
