Good morning, everyone! Amy Copeland here with an encouragement card featuring some gorgeous stamps by Altenew. I have had the Strength Blooms stamp set for a couple months now, but hadn't gotten a chance to really play with them until this past weekend. I started the card by using my MISTI stamp positioning tool to stamp the four layers of the flowers--this isn't absolutely necessary, but it definitely helps with placement, especially for the top layer. I used all Lawn Fawn inks for the flowers and leaves: Fresh Lavender (bottom--or first--layer); Grape Soda (second layer); Juice Box (third layer); Sugarplum (top--or fourth--layer). The leaves were done with an acrylic block using the Rock-N-Roll technique--I first inked up the stamp with Cilantro ink, then "rock-n-rolled" the edges of the stamp on my Noble Fir ink pad before finally stamping on my paper. I used the Coordinating Dies to cut out the flowers and leaves, then set them aside.
The watercolored background was created using Gansai Tambi water colors, a round watercolor brush, and Distress Watercolor card stock. I painted clean water all over the background, then smoothed the paint on, making sure to leave some heavier streaks of pigment and some lighter streaks. The Gansai Tambi watercolors are so vibrant and creamy--I love them! After my watercolor panel was dry, I Gold Embossed the sentiment using VersaMark and my Heat Tool, then I cut the panel down to my desired size and cut a tiny strip off the bottom so I could layer it below the panel for emphasis.
I cut a piece of Moonstone cardstock with the largest stitched rectangle stackables die in the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables die set, then a piece of Storm Cloud cardstock with the largest Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables die and adhered them together using Liquid Glue. I used the same liquid glue to adhere my watercolor panel/strip (which I also ran through the die cutting machine with the small stitched rectangle stackables die so the stitched edges would match), then adhered the bottom flower flat to the card (also with liquid glue). I used Washi Tape to adhere the leaves to the back of the bigger flower, then popped up the larger flower with Foam Tape.
The finishing detail was adhering Birthstone Crystals--March by Studio Katia--the iridescent finish picks up the greens and the blues in the rest of my card and coordinated perfectly. I used my Jewel Picker for perfect placement and strong liquid glue, Multi Medium--Matte, to adhere them to the card.
Finally, I adhered my card panel to an A2 (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") sized card base.
Thanks so much for joining me today and I hope my card inspired you to create your own. :)
