Home for the Holidays with Pinkfresh Studios

Hi everyone! I can't believe this is my last blog post as part of the Butterfly Reflections, Ink design team! I've had so much fun over the last few months being a part of this team and I'm sad to see it come to an end. I know Vanessa will pick and amazing team to take over and I can't wait to see all their creations.

For today's card, I'm getting into the holiday spirit with the latest release from Pinkfresh Studio. I was obsessed with the Cityscape Die from the moment I first saw it. I used it with the Home for the Holidays Stamp Set to make the sweetest little Christmas scene. They also have a Day in the City Stamp Set which goes with the Cityscape Die for every day cards without a holiday flare.

I started with cutting the Cityscape Die out of Bristol Smooth card stock since I knew I was going to be doing some ink blending over the die cut panel. I then stamped all the images using my MISTI to precisely stamp the buildings, banner, and sentiment into their designated spots. I used a copic safe ink, Amalgam Ink from Gina K Designs to stamp the images and sentiment. 

On the background panel, I wanted to heat emboss some of the snowflakes from the Home for the Holidays Stamp Set for an emboss resist look. I used my favorite heat tool and Brutus Monroe Alabaster Embossing Powder over Versamark Ink to heat emboss the snowflakes. Then I got to masking. I masked off the buildings, the banner, the trees, and a snow drift for the bottom of the card using Making Paper.

I ink blended using Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink over most of the panel with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Ink around the edges to create a look of nighttime falling over the sleepy town. 

After that, I just added in some shading onto the buildings with very light gray copic markers and colored in the trees. As a final touch, I added Nuvo Jewel Drops in Sea Breeze and adhere the panel onto a Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink blended panel and onto the card base.
