Hey y'all!
It's Jess and I'm back with another card for you today! I'm always in need of cards for those occasions that pop up at the last minute. It's nice to have a few on hand that can work for many different situations so you'll always have something if you're in a pinch!
With that in mind, I designed this card using Brutus Monroe's Botanical Banners stamp set. This is one of my favorite floral stamp sets - it's so versatile! I've used this is so many ways and it never disappoints.
To get started, I cut down a piece of cardstock using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangle dies. I stamped the large floral image from the set in black ink and grabbed a few Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I scribbled on my media mat with the markers and spritzed them with water. I used a water brush to do a very basic 'loose watercolor' technique. This is basically a fancy way of saying I didn't want to stay in the lines! While I still had my water brush wet and full of color, I flicked on some color to add a little more interest to the rest of my background.
Then, I grabbed some clear dew drops in different sizes and colored them with a Copic marker to match my card. I adhered them using Matte Multi Medium and then stamped out my sentiment, 'thinking of you.' I fussy cut the sentiment and then popped it up on foam for some dimension.
To finish things off, I matted my card front with some sturdy kraft cardstock. I really like how simple, but elegant, this card is. It's a great just because card, but also works really well as a sympathy card. Excellent to have on hand!
Hugs and love to you all,
