Helllllo, crafty people! This week has been an especially cuddle worthy week here in the Northeast. I don't know about where you are, but we're already seeing our second snowfall tonight. It's definitely putting me in the mood for warm winter hugs and what better way to express that than with the Happy Hugs stamp set by Pinkfresh Studios? I added to the design of this card a bit by using an inlaid die cutting/inlaid dimension technique. Check out my video here:
First, I stamped the bears image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with Copic markers (List Below). Next, I stamped the background sky image with Suede Shoes by Catherine Pooler onto a piece of 110lb white card stock. To do the inlaid die cutting, I needed to die cut not only my image using the coordinating die, but also the card front and the craft foam so that they were in the same exact spot on both. This way it created a well of sorts where I adhered image.
Copic Colors Used:
Scarf - R59, R29, R24 (B29)
Hat - B29, B66, B24
Bears - W3, W1, 0 Colorless Blender
Cheeks - R32
I love the look this inlaid dimension die cutting technique gives. It's such a different perspective than that of the popped up image we're used to seeing. I also think it lends itself well to this particular card since it feels more "cuddly". And who could possibly deny that "the snuggle is real" is the absolute sweetest sentiment of all time?! No one, that's who.
I hope that you've enjoyed the video and post on this technique and card. I love seeing what you create so if you try this technique, please tag me on instagram @ashlea_crafts! Have a fabulous holiday, friends!
