Hi everyone, Amy Copeland here with a guest design post for Butterfly Reflections, Ink. I whipped up this clean-and-simple birthday card really quickly using some awesome dies from Lawn Fawn and Hello Bluebird. I started my card with a piece of Distress Watercolor cardstock and die cut the sentiment out with the awesome Happy Birthday die from Hello Bluebird. I love the subtle texture the watercolor cardstock brings to the card. I backed the "HAPPY" word with a piece of Acetate using strong 1/8 " Double-Sided Tape, then built up a channel around the word "HAPPY" with Double-Sided Foam Tape, then sprinkled Studio Katia Mint Dream Crystals inside the channel and backed it with Lawn Fawn Peacock card stock.
I then cut a piece of Lawn Fawn Raspberry card stock with the "birthday" word and inlaid it into the card front using Liquid Glue.
I then got to work on the cupcake. I die cut all of the components using the Stitched Cupcake die set from Lawn Fawn. I used all Lawn Fawn card stock--Mermaid, Ballet Slippers, Raspberry, Paper Bag, Black Licorice, Cilantro. I ink-blended using Blender Brushes using the coordinating Lawn Fawn ink pads, also available in the shop. Since the Paper Bag cardstock doesn't have a coordinating ink pad, I used the Lawn Fawn Doe Ink Pad.
I assembled the cupcake using the Lawn Fawn Glue Tube, then for a final touch on the strawberry, applied Glossy Accents to the "seeds." I used the same Glue Tube to attach the cupcake onto the card front, then applied foam tape to the back of the card panel and attached it to the front of an A2-sized (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") card base.
Thanks for joining me today--hopefully this card inspires you to create your own. :)
