Cheers to the New Year!

Happy Monday crafty friends, Ashley D. here!  So excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog today.  Christmas may be over, but we’re gearing up for one more celebration tomorrow night - welcome 2020!  I’m sure you’ve all checked out the December BRI Mood Board, and again I’m called to all things shiny and PINK.  Those beautiful blush pink ornaments reminded me of the perfect New Year’s accompaniment - BUBBLES!  And New Year’s most definitely wouldn’t be complete without the bubbly.

So, I created this fun, yet simple card inspired by a bottle of sparkling Rosé.  For the background I used a piece of white pearlescent cardstock brushed with a bit of Distress Oxide Spun Sugar ink, then die cut with the new Lawn Fawn Snowfall Portrait Backdrop die.  I turned it upside down to give the effect of rising bubbles like in a glass of Champagne.  I backed the open holes with pink glitter cardstock from the Lawn Fawn Sparkle Cardstock Spring pack.  I LOVE these papers – easy to cut and they don’t shed glitter everywhere!

I then framed it with a border made from the same white pearlescent cardstock cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables (Large & Small).  You can also use the largest Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Frame.

I topped the backdrop with the year 2020 cut from gold pearlescent cardstock using a Silhouette Cameo (you could also use large thin metal number dies too).  For depth, I adhered them with foam tape, and then layered two toasting vellum (pink and white) Champagne flutes using My Favorite Things Layered Champagne Glass Die-namics.

For the sentiment, I cut two ‘Cheers,’ one in white pearlescent cardstock, topped with a second in pink glitter cardstock, using the My Favorite Things Mondo Cheers Die-namics.  And for one final bit of sparkle, I added a few pink glitter starbursts made from the two smallest Lawn Fawn Mini Snowflakes dies.  Cheers and Happy New Year everyone!  May your 2020 be filled with many blessings and lots of crafty fun!
