Bringing you some sunshine.

I am SO excited to share two special cards with you this week!  A list of products used can be found at the end of this blog post. In the past month or so, the timing has been just right for my kids and I to notice the sunrise at breakfast time.  We've seen some BEAUTIFUL skies ... to which my son always announces "Mother Nature is painting again!"  One sky, in particular, was so breathtaking that I knew it would inspire a card in some way: I took that photo with my phone through a window and look at that color!  So, my cards this week are two attempts to capture some of that awe-inspiring beauty. Both cards this week are cut to 4.25" square from smooth Bristol card stock.  I used purple tape to create a 0.25" (approximately ... no rulers involved!) border, which also secured the backgrounds to my work space.  For both cards, I used the My Favorite Things sunrise radiating rays stencil.  For one background, I applied VersaMark...

Rainbows, Unicorns and Sparkle!

Hi everyone! It's Ashley and I'm so excited to be back on the blog. Today, I'm showcasing a card I made using one of Lawn Fawn's older, mini stamp sets - A Little Sparkle . I like mini stamp sets because they're usually much cheaper than a regularly-sized stamp set, but sometimes I struggle making a whole card with just the one or two images that come in a mini set. I employed a few tricks to make it work better on this card - I repeated some of the smaller images, broke up the sentiment so it took more space, added big die cuts to fill in the scene, and used a pop of rainbow colour to act as a focal point. I'd definitely recommend trying some of these tricks if you also struggle creating cards with mini stamp sets! I stamped all of the images using Lawn Fawn's Jet Black ink , and coloured them in with Copic markers. I die-cut two pieces of white sparkle cardstock with Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Border dies , and placed one each on the top and bo...

You make my heart happy!

Hello peeps and welcome back to the Butterfly Reflections Ink. blog!! Silvia's here today with a cute rainbow friendship card. I first die cut the front panel of my card using the Mama Elephant  "Hexastar dies" from white cardstock and I created a window in the middle of it using the biggest star from the Lawn Fawn " "Outside in Stitched Star Stackables" dies. I ink blended it a bit using Lawn Fawn  "Ballet Slippers" ink pad, that I also used to add some splatters. I then trimmed a 4 1/4"x5 1/2" rectangle from the Lawn Fawn  "Spiffy Speckless" paper pad (I used the blue one) and a rainbow and some clouds borders using the Lawn Fawn "Shadow box card rainbow add-on" from white cardstock. I stamped images from the Hello Bluebird  "Easter Egg Hunt" and  "Garden Friends" stamp sets, I colored them with my  Spectrum Noir markers and I cut them out. I also used my alcohol markers t...

How You Bean? Valentine

Hi everyone! With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, I've been having fun creating love themed cards. Today, I'm sharing a sweet Valentine's card using all Lawn Fawn . I just love mixing sets to create fun and whimsical scenes, so I had so much fun with this one! To begin, I cut a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock to 4 1/4 X 5 1/2" for my background. I ink blended it with Worn Lipstick  and Spun Sugar  Distress Oxide Ink Pads. I splattered some clean water and some loosened Worn Lipstick with a paintbrush, and set aside to dry. Next, I cut some white cardstock using the  Foursquare Backdrop Die . Using foam tape  , I attached the backdrop to my ink blended background, then adhered that to an A2 card base. I then stamped all the images using black Memento ink from the following sets: How You Bean? Stamp Set  (jar and lid)/ Dies How You Bean? Conversation Heart Add-On  (conversation hearts, sentiment)/ Dies Love Poems Stamp Set ...

BRI mood board inspiration with Lawn Fawn

Hi Everyone!  Today, I'm sharing a colorful card using a few Lawn Fawn stamps and die sets .  Check out the Butterfly Reflections Ink store to pre-order the new Lawn Fawn release ! The January mood board colors were my inspiration for this card, although I veered off a bit and went bold! To start, I cut a piece of Bazzill cardstock to an A2 size.  The background was then ink blended with the following distress oxide inks: dried marigold , wild honey , worn lipstick , tattered rose , seedless preserves , and wilted violet . Stitched scalloped frame dies used in the largest size and smaller size to cut white cardstock for the border frame and center frame which was glued to the card front.  Images from butterfly kisses stamp set were colored using copics and cut using the coordinating dies.   For the "love" sentiment, I used Finley's ABC's die and mermaid cardstock .   Glossy accents added to the letters for some shine and a white gel p...

Hello with Davina

Hello Friends, Davina here on the  Butterfly Reflections Ink  Blog today sharing a fun slimline card I made using stamps and dies by  Pretty Pink Posh  and  Slimline Series Stitched Card Panels  by Trinity Stamps.  I’m also still loving the January BRI Moodboard colors and have made so many projects using variations of the great colors. This tall slimline card is bright and full of so many cute images. I stamped all of the images from the newly released  Pond Friends  and the  Coordinating Dies  using my stamp platform and black ink. I colored everything in with  Copic markers  using a variety of each of the colors from the color board. Once I die cut all of the images, I used a dotting tool and white ink to add little dot highlights onto my images. I played with the arrangement a little, and decided to stamp a few images from an older PPP set called  Woodland Critters , like the mushrooms and tree stump. I cu...

Toadally Awesome Sliding Fun!

Hi everyone! It's Ashley again and I'm so happy to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! Today's card is built around Lawn Fawn's Toadally Awesome stamp set. This stamp set is from an older Lawn Fawn release, so there are already a bunch of amazing examples out there using this set for inspiration. I hadn't picked it up when it was originally released, but after seeing everyone else using it I was swayed! So now I feel like it's my turn to play with it - yay! I started by stamping out all of the cute images with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink , and coloring them in with a variety of Copic markers. Most of the images are from the Toadally Awesome stamp set, but the fireflies are from Lawn Fawn's Little Fireflies stamp set. This is a super cute mini set that I plan on focusing on for an upcoming card! It was then time to build the background. I cut a piece of watercolour paper using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Pond dies, and then used Tim Holtz D...

Just a little note to say......

Hello and happy Tuesday! Silvia's here today with a fun interactive card. I was so in love with the way the incredible Megan Quinn combined Lawn Fawn "Yeti or not" ,  "Love Letters" and   "You're just my type" stamp sets that I decided to make it too. So I stamped  my images from this three sets with  Memento black ink , I colored them with  Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and I cut them out. I then die cut two stitched rectangles ( I used a  Heffy Doodle 5 1/2"x 4 1/4" die) from white cardstock. I used the first one as my card panel, I ink blended it with  salty ocean and  faded jeans Distress Oxide inks and I splattered it with some  yeti ink and pure platinum  Nuvo mousse loosened with water. I die cut two grassy border from the second rectangles using the Hello Bluebird  "Grassy Knoll" dies and I ink blended them  with  mowed lawn and  twisted citron Distress Oxide inks. I then used the L...
