Hiya, friends! It's been a minute since I have been on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog and I am happy to be here sharing a little inspiration with something I have been longing to play with... the Lawn Fawn Magic Iris!
Follow along with me, Janette Kausen, as I walk you through the details of this Really High Five Magic Iris interactive card. The folks over at Lawn Fawn are dang clever in creating these easy to assemble projects. Add a touch of creativity and we've got a charmer every time!
Begin project by first die cutting and assembling the Magic Iris unit. Find a detailed and easy to follow tutorial HERE, by the darling Kelly Marie over at Lawn Fawn.
Set Magic Iris aside and ink blend Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide inks onto 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock using the Lawn Fawn Cloudy Stencil.

Splatter blended panel with Lawn Fawn Liquid Stardust for supremely sparkly detail. Die cut the panel with the Lawn Fawn Magic Iris Add-On Lawn Cut.
Stamp the center detail on the closed Magic Iris slider portions with a MISTI (with foam insert removed) or an acrylic block with Hero Arts Intens-ified Black ink. Fill in any stamping gaps with a black marker, or if you're brave (and believe you me, I had my fingers crossed and was saying a little prayer) turn the Magic Iris to back and Purple Tape the sliders in the closed position. Turn to front and carefully take the top two rings off of the Magic Iris. Set them aside in the same orientation they were removed. Stamp and mask balloons to fill area.
Copic color balloons in the closed position and then reassemble Magic Iris. Slide window open and color any exposed white areas on the sliders themselves.
Stamp, mask and Copic color a few friends waving hi on one of the leftover circle from the center of the Magic Iris. While they are masked, pop the circle into the cloudy panel, realign stencil over masked circle but under cloudy panel. Carefully remove cloudy panel and blend the clouds across the circle for continuity.
Stamp, Copic color and die cut fox, balloons and strings. White Detail heat emboss sentiments on black cardstock.
Finally, assembly! Adhere Magic Slider to back of cloudy blended panel in the closed position, matching pull tab to opening. Add two layers of standard foam tape above and below Magic Iris unit to level panel being careful to not inhibit sliding action. Adhere to 4" x 5 1/4" black cardstock. Adhere to rainbow print from Lawn Fawn's Hello Sunshine Remix paper pack. Last - adhere finished project to folded card base.
Bet you won't stop sliding that lil' cutie anytime soon! I cannot wait to make another. So fun!
xo, Janette
