Hi everyone and happy Wednesday! Ashley here, and I'm so excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog. I just received my order of Lawn Fawn goodies from their new Spring 2020 release from the Butterfly Reflections Ink store (thanks Vanessa!) and I couldn't wait to play with them. The first card I made involved the cute jumping animals from the Really High Five stamp set.
This card combines multiple products from the new release. First, I stamped out the adorable jumping animals from the Lawn Fawn Really High Five stamp set in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and coloured them in with Copic markers before cutting them out, leaving a small white border around the edges.
For the background, cut out pieces from the following Lawn Fawn patterned paper packs:
It's hard to tell in the pictures, but this card is actually a quadruple slider - each of the animals slides in a mini-channel to look like it's jumping! To assemble the slider mechanism, I cut four separate slider channels into the cloud piece using the Lawn Fawn Slide on Over dies. In some cases, the smallest die in that set was still too long, so I partially die-cut it (meaning I only placed the top cutting plate over part of the die, so only part of it cut out).
I taped foam behind the cloud panel, making sure to leave lots of space for the slider elements to move around. Then, I carefully placed dimes where each of the slider channels was cut, and adhered the whole panel down onto the card base. I could then add My Favorite Things Slider Elements to each dime, and stick each critter directly onto one.
The last step was to adhere the trampoline and jumping marks, and to stamp out the sentiment that comes with the stamp set to make it a fun birthday card!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! To see a short video clip of the sliding mechanism in action, head over to my Instagram account at Ashley Young Paper. I look forward to sharing another card next week!
