Hello all! It's Amanda here and I'm so happy to be back on the blog! In celebration of my birthday last Tuesday, I'm sharing a fun birthday bash double slider surprise card! My brother and I have extremely close birthdays, so growing up there was a lot of shared birthday parties. This fun scene is a little homage to those times.
As always, to start my card, I stamped my images using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Stamp Sets Used
After the images are stamped, I cut and colored them. (For color inspiration, I used the June Butterfly Reflections Ink Mood board!) Then I started to create my slider surprise mechanism. First I created the track, following a Lawn Fawn tutorial on Youtube. You'll need the Double Slider Surprise die set from Lawn Fawn and a plastic bag. Next, I die cut out my panels that I will decorate with my images.
Before assembling all of the pieces, I inked up my background. For the sky, I used Distress Ink Shaded Lilac and Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders. For the grass, I used Lawn Fawn Meadow Border with Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn, Twisted Citron, and Peeled Paint. I also used some Distress Oxide Wilted Violet mixed with water to flick on to the sky. Now that the pieces are inked, it's ready to assemble. For assembly, I referred back to the Lawn Fawn tutorial on Youtube.
For adhesives, I used 1/8th inch scrappy tape on any small tabs. I used a tape runner to adhere the inked panels to my mechanism. I applied Lawn Fawn Glue Tube to my colored images. And foam tape was used on the back of the mechanism so the panels have enough room to pull in and out. Other items I used include a white gel pen for accents, blending brushes, and mini blending tools.
I hope you enjoy this birthday bash scene! You can find most of these products I used at the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop online. Don't forget, if you play along with this month's mood board be sure to link it up to the challenge on @Popsiclesticks personal blog. Thanks for reading along, and have a great day!
