Hello crafty friends! I’m super excited to share the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Inspired slimline for you today. It’s been quite some time since I made a Harry Potter card, using all Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. And all though this one doesn’t feature Harry himself, hopefully you won’t be disappointed. 
I was brainstorming ideas for an interactive card using the new Lawn Fawn Lift the Flap Slimline Dies , and I had this fun idea of having different animals under each flap. When I brought Hogwarts into the mix I immediately thought about the Forbidden Forest, and I started pulling out tons of stamp sets. I’ve always wanted to create a Lawn Fawn Hagrid, and it was very simple to customize the older Gnome Sweet Gnome. I masked off the hat while inking my stamp then using a pencil and a multi liner I drew in some fluffy 80s hair. I used gold LF Embossing Powder for the little lantern from Fairy Friends Set, and I used a puppy from Happy Howloween.
I then went on to create 5 tiny mini scenes with 4 creatures, each with a little accessories.
1. Niffler = hedgehog from Jump for Joy, treasure from Ahoy Matey, dirt pile from A Bug Deal, and tree from Tree Before n Afters.
2. Dragon and flame from Critters Ever After, egg from Baked with Love, and moon from Spooktacular.
3. Unicorn and fairies from A Little Sparkle, and trees from Snow Day
4. Buck beak the Hippogriff is the griffon from Critters ever After, and the pumpkins are from Happy Harvest.
5. Finally printed up my sentiment and stamped a frame from Flirty Frames around it.
Once I copic colored everything using colors from the current BRI Moodboard, and die cut them with the coordinating dies, I added small dot highlights and a little glittery Wink of Stella to some images. I cut the largest slimline frame from Slimline with sliders dies from purple patterned paper, and the stitched frame and flaps from the Lift the Flap Slimline Dies from a piece of kraft cardstock. I gently inked the edges with Brushed Corduroy Distress Oxide Ink and splattered with brown, white and glittery ink.
Next, I cut a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock and green cardstock with the same slimline stitched fram to create the hidden scenes. I inked the Bristol smooth panel with both Shaded and Wilted Lilac Distress oxide ink, and the green cardstock with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink after cutting a hillside using Stitched Slimline Hillsides. Then splattered both with white and and glittery inks.
I adhered the green hillside to the purple sky, then layered the flap panel over top with no glue. I held them gently together with wooden cloths pins, while I glued down my mini scenes. Once complete I decorated the tops of the flaps and stamped a few tiny spiders from Booyah. I used 1/4 inch wide foam tape to secure the flaps over the scenes, then used s air tape to adhere the interactive portion over the patterned paper and onto the cardbase.
I’m thrilled with the final results and hope you think outside of the box to create a crazy scene using tons of new and older stamp sets.
