Hello crafty friends! Today I have a fun interactive card to share with you using new Heffy Doodle products and the July Mood Board. This months mood board is fiery and full of bold bright colors like Hot pink, spiced orange, red and ruby.
I used these spicy colors, with the addition of some curry yellow, to bring all the little shellfish from the A Little Shellfish stamp set to life. I made a full beach scene with a pull tab, and a crabby Flash Mob party! I’m going to list the steps and products I used to create this card.
Using an A2 sized stitched rectangle I cut a light sky blue panel and 3 panels of Bristol smooth cardstock. I cut two of the panels with LF Stitched Waves Order dies in staggered heights. I cut the 3rd piece with two LF Stitched Hillside Borders. I cut the first one about halfway up, then used the remaining paper to cut the shorter front hill. I used my blending brushes to ink all of the cut panels with distress oxide inks, then I splattered each with watery ink, glittery perfect pearls and white ink.
Once dry, I heat embossed my sentiment on the shortest hill, with black embossing powder. Then I used the new Heffy Doodle Slimline Pulltab Dies to cut my notch and pull tab pieces. I used the middle sized slider die and cut the piece from the center of every panel in the same location with the exception of the short embossed front layer.
Next I stamped all of the images from the set, and 8 crabs. I used the brilliant colors from the mood board to color all of my images, adding in some curry yellow to give a little oomph. I glued my top 4 layers together with liquid glue, and layered my top hill on the top to play with image placement. Using the bulking the images ( except the crabs and presents) I decorated the scene to look fun as is... but I did not glue the lobster down yet. I planned on using him to hide my crabby party.
Next, I made a cluster of overlapping crabs, gifts, and party hats that would fit behind the hill ( A little bit of the candle would stick out so I used my lobster to cover). I adhered the cluster to the assembled pull tab. Finally, I mounted the top hill onto the top, making sure that the foam tape wasn’t in the way of my crabby party. I mounted my panel onto the cardbase using more foam tape, so that the pull tab could slide easily. I have had such a blast playing with this card, and hope that if you haven’t already, that you check out the new adorable Heffy Doodle Release available at Butterfly Reflection Ink.
