Out of this World Birthday

Hi all! It's Cassie here, from Creatively Cass, and I'm back to share a card I made for the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog. I went with a one layer galaxy card for today's post. Here's the finished product!  I started by stamping out my images from the Out of This World stamp set by Lawn Fawn. I used masking tape to get the effect of the overlapping balloons for the little astronaut. Then, with those same masks, I used Distress Oxide ink colors Seedless Preserves, Chipped Sapphire, and Black Soot to create a galaxy background.  I then colored the images in with my Copic markers and added strings to all the balloons with a Copic multiliner marker. Obviously, I needed some stars so I used some white paint to splatter over the background. After everything had dried I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment at the bottom of the card. My favorite final touch is to add white gel pen accents to each of the little images. I also decorated the envelope to match! And that'...

You're Unfroggettable

Hello! For my card today I used the adorable Don't Worry Be Hoppy stamp set and die set by Lawn Fawn. This set is so versatile and has tons of fun sentiments, and can be used to make the CUTEST bookmarks or tags! Fun! I used a circle die to cut a hole in the front of the card. The real party on this card is inside.... EEk! Just look at his little frog bootie hanging inside! :) So cute! I made the water and sunset with circle masking and Distress Oxide Inks. Super quick and easy. The little frog and flies are from Say What Spring Critters.  I hope YOU have a hoppy day!  Nikki

Hip, Hip, Hooray!

Hey crafty friends! It’s Julia here with with a cute birthday / celebration card! For this one I used the super adorable Hooray Kind of Day stamp set by My Favorite Things. I am such a huge fan of the illustrations my Stacy Yacula and I hope to use them a lot more often!! First I stamped my images onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored them in using Copic Markers . I die cut the Mama Elephant Slim Card Basics out of bristol smooth cardstock. After that I ink blended Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide onto the background and Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn onto the hill. I also added lots of splatters of Liquid Stardust for extra shine. I stamped the sentiment from the set directly into the little banner with Versafine Onxy Black ink. Then, I added the background to the scalloped piece and the hill on top of that with liquid glue . My cute images were added with foam squares . Finally, to add even more sparkle, I added lots of shimmer pen and Crystal Glaze ! If ...

Party On! New Lawn Fawn goodies are almost here!

Hi everyone! Peggy here! Tomorrow the newest release from Lawn Fawn will be available in the shop ! Whoohoo! For the occasion I wanted to share this party card with a happy bunch of LF critters. I used four of the critters from the Really high five set which is so much fun! The confetti is also from that stamp set. Because I wanted a critter for each of the letters in PARTY I looked through my stash and found the little hedgehog from Forest Feast to be the ideal match. Lastly, I stamped out the little paintbrush (Yes I got this set specifically because of that little paintbrush, oops) from Easter before and afters. I stamped the critters with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink which is my favorite and colored them with copics. Using the Small Slimline Die Set from Lawn Fawn I cut a panel from white stamping card. I stamped the paint splatters from a set in my stash but you could draw with copics or ink smudge as well. I stamped with Abandoned Coral, Spiced Marmalade , Fossilized Amber, Pine N...

Miss You with Avery Elle and the Bri Moodboard

Hello my inky fingered friends! Davina here with some Bri Moodboard inspiration. I created a really fun slimline card using some brand new Avery Elle stamps and dies, along with some older sets, and a Heffy Doodle word die. I was so excited for the latest Avery Elle  release and I can’t wait to use all of the goodies I purchased from Butterfly Reflection Ink. On this card I used only two stamp and die sets, the  Peek-a-boo Flight  and an older Peek-a-boo set called  Peek-a-boo Jungle . I stamped the airplane, banner, and clouds from the Flight set. And the adorable zebra and banner from the jungle set. I colored my images with copic markers in February BRIMoodboard colors and cut out the images using the coordinating dies. I added small white dot highlights then got to work on my background.  I found some black and white small plaid paper in my enormous paper stash, so I thought it would be cute to combine it with an inky panel using the new and amazing Distress...

More Mood Board Inspired Shaker + Bonus Card with Farhana

Happy Friday and welcome back to the blog! Today I'm using the  February Mood Board  to create some non valentines cards! Just like last week  they are super quick to make with ZERO coloring, unless ink blending is coloring!  I've really been enjoying creating ink blended backgrounds, so I pulled out some  distress oxides  to match the mood board. For both cards I used  Spun Sugar  and  Picked Raspberry  Distress Oxides. For the first card, I started by inking up an A2 panel to create an pink ombre. Then I diecut it using the  Spring Frame Die . I backed it with some acetate to create a shaker, I adhered it to a light grey A2 card base, and filled it with  Midnight Black Jewels . For the sentiment I die cut 'hello' from from the  Hello Friend Script Die  and added 'friend' from the  Simple Sentiments Stamp Set . For the second card I used the  Birthday Background Stencil  to create an inked backgr...

The Sky's The Limit!

Hey crafty friends! It’s Julia here - this time with a get well card! Unfortunately my dad was recently in the hospital and I really wanted to make him a happy card that would remind him, that even though he is not feeling well right now - he will soon be happy and "flying again". The adorable images illustrated by Stacy Yacula were just perfect for what I wanted to do! I really hope you like it! The layout with the dream bubble was inspired by a recent card by the incredible Tammy Stark ! First I stamped my images from the My Favorite Things All Tucked In , Sky High and Happy Campers stamp sets onto Transotype Perfect Coloring Paper and colored them in using Copic Markers .  After I colored in the mountain range I die cut it with the Hello Bluebird Grassy Knoll die set to create a cloudy edge. Then I also stamped two little clouds from the Lawn Fawn Village Heroes and Village shops set and cut them out of white cardstock to create the little thought bubbles. I ink blend...

Hi everyone! Peggy here with some moodboard inspiration. I hope you will join our challenge on Instagram @brimoodboardchallenge! This cute raccoon is from Honey Bee Stamps and the set is called Stolen my heart.  He fits the moodboard perfectly because of the grey and black and the little heart in hot pink really pops! Let me show you how I made this card. I started by stamping the little raccoon in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored him with my copic markers (C for the raccoon, RV for the heart). I used Nuvo Crystal Dimensional Glaze for the heart. I used the Largest of the Small Slimline Dies from Lawn Fawn to cut a panel. I covered the panel with the Heffy Doodle Rays the Roof Stencil and blended Picked Raspberry and offset Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Inks. I wrapped some black and white baker's twine round the part of the panel where I wanted the raccoon. Next I adhered the panel to a slightly larger black panel I cut with my paper trimmer with some foam tape and adhered th...

Sending Hugs

Hello everyone! It's Ashley and I am so happy to be back for a guest post for Butterfly Reflections, Ink ! For my card today, I used the absolutely adorable Avery Elle Sending Hugs stamp set. It is perfect for sending a paper hug to all those loved ones you can't hug in person yet! I started by stamping the Pinkfresh Studio Colorblock Gradiating Stripes background stamp onto white cardstock with Pinkfresh Studio Ballet Slipper ink. This is the perfect soft pink ink! I trimmed the piece by a quarter inch on each side and splattered with two different colors of gold watercolor from the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors set. I added a piece of vellum to the back to create a thin border, then attached the background piece to a Lawn Fawn Fog card base. I stamped the images from Avery Elle Sending Hugs onto Bristol smooth cardstock with Pinkfresh Studio Detail Black ink. This is my new favorite ink for watercoloring! It works for Copics too! I colored the images with my Zig Clean Co...

Hello Friend, You Gnome Me So Well

Hi BRI friends, Sara here! I am back with a new card, inspired by the February BRI Mood Board . I love the pink and black together! I love gnomes, they are always so fun to color: here I used the “You Gnome Me” stamp set from MyFavorite Things . I wanted to make a slimline card with two smaller scenes. I firstly cut a piece of 8.5”x3.5” light grey cardstock and then I used a basic circle shape to create the two “holes”. I used the outer border of the die to draw the black circle with a fine liner. I then stamped all my images on a copic friendly paper and colored all of them with my beloved markers. I also added some details on their shirt with a purple colored pencil. On a different piece of paper I ink blended the background using blending brushes and Distress oxide in Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry . I also stamped with Versafine black some of the greenery from the MFT “Dandelion Greenery” : I think this set is a must ha...
