Hello crafty friends! Today is my last post for this DT term and I am so sad! It has been such an honor to be part of this design team and I had so much fun creating cards for you these past four months! I am so grateful for Vanessa giving me this opportunity and I appreciate all of you for your support and encouragement! *hugs!*
For my last card, I have a Happy New Year card featuring Mama Elephant's Me and My Yeti. I have always wanted to try creating a bokeh background and thought it would be the perfect backdrop for the yeti as he rings in the new year. I masked off part of the card and then used a lot of Distress Oxides (picked raspberry, salvaged patina, cracked pistachio, wilted violet, chipped sapphire, black soot). Then I stenciled on the bokeh circles with white pigment ink. I cut out the panel with Mama Elephant's Cloud Nine die.
I cut out "2022" from silver glitter cardstock and black cardstock using Concord & 9th's Tall Type Numbers. I stamped and colored the images with Copic markers. As I picked my colors, I tried to use colors from the background to color in the yeti and banner like the lights were reflecting onto them. I don't know if you can see it in my pictures but in the actual card those pinks, blues, and purples are there 😂 For the banner, I used Mama Elephant's Kissie Letters and Sentiments from a Yeti to create my custom banner. Finally, I stamped the "yeti new year!" from Mama Elephant's Sentiments From a Yeti and then assembled the card!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! And a huge THANK YOU for your support of Vanessa, BRI, and us design team members! If you would like to continue seeing what my brain comes up with 😂, please follow me on Instagram @cre8iveli! Have a happy New Year and happy crafting! 💖Jenn
