YOU MAKE MY TAIL WAG from MY FAVORITE THINGS

Hello everybody this is Nicky here with you today with my first post as a Design Team member for Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop .  I am delighted to be here with you all sharing my love of card making and hopefully inspiring many of you with your future projects. Today's card features the totally adorable You Make My Tail Wag  stamp and coordinating die  set by My Favorite Things. I started out by masking off my card panel and then using Distress Inks  and the totally AMAZING Clarity Stencil Brushes  I ink blended the strip of sky and grass.  After removing my masking tape I added a strip of Grassy Border  from Lawn Fawn for a little dimension.  I then stamped and watercolor painted the cute dog and his dog house using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers   and die cut them and applied them to the card using some dimensional foam tape.  Next I layered on the die cut clouds and sun from Spring Showers  by Lawn Fawn.   F...

Baby Tags featuring the We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool!

Happy Monday! This is Kim Hamilton and I am so very excited to be sharing my first post with you for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is making my first day back to work after a two-week break a happy one! I am sharing baby gift tags today, one of my friends is expecting and not sure what she is having so I made one of each! I used my  We R Memory Keepers Fuse Tool  for the first time and loved it! I cut my own  Tim Holtz watercolor paper  to the size of tag I wanted (2 3/4 x 4 1/4) and cut the edges with my trimmer.  I stamped my sentiments that are by  Lawn Fawn Hello Baby  with VersaMark ink and used white embossing powder. For the girl tag I used a mix of Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral  Distress Inks  and for the boy tag I used Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron  Distress Inks .  I sprayed both tags with some water and dabbed it off. I then stamped my images by My Favorite Things...

Birthday Celebration

Hi Everyone! I'm so excited to be joining the Butterfly Reflections team! The shop is full of so many of my favorite products and I am excited to create and share with you. I love creating with fun, modern, cute stamps and dies. I also love coloring, inking, painting and using hints of patterned paper and sequins.  In the beginning of the year, I always do a big push to create lots of birthday cards. I started this card with Avery Elle's  Letter Balloons  dies. I love that it is quick and easy to create any sentiment you need. Just take a peek over on Pinterest and look up "balloon letters" and you will find lots of great inspiration.  After I cut out my letters, I decided to add my favorite ice cream truck from  The Scoop . The  coordinating dies  for this set do an amazing job of cutting out the middle window. I colored the truck and the ice cream treats with Copics and added a little bit of gel pen for highlights. I finished t...

Welcoming our new Design Team members for the next term!

Hi, everyone!!! I'm a week late in sharing the new Design Team members for the next term. I'm sure, like everyone else, the second half of December FLEW by with the holidays approaching and now here we are. It seems the time keeps going by quicker and quicker. My mom always warned me that when I got older this would happen. I guess I'm "older" now. :P So let's DO THIS! Our first new DT member has been a Guest Designer for the shop before and she's a dear friend of mine. It was funny receiving her application "introducing" herself because I'm like "I know HERRRR" kind of like the movie Elf. hahaha You probably know Christy Reuling aka ChristyGetsCrafty on YT and Instagram. Christy is from PA, married, a mom of 3 boys, works at a craft store and pottery studio and still finds time to 'get crafty' much like her handle says!!! She's been on the Crafters Companion DT and has also served on the Lawnscaping team. She's a...

Follow your dreams

Hello everyone! Gladys here to share one more card for you as my term with Butterfly Reflections Ink has ended. *sniff, sniff* I've had a wonderful time creating for Vanessa and working with all the awesome products she carries in her shop . Today on my card I'm featuring a new stamp set by Altenew called Happy Dreams .     I started this card by stamping the feather randomly using Versamark watermark ink pad  to prepare it for embossing. I used gold embossing powder then melted it with a heat tool. Then using a blending tool I colored the background with a few distress inks: peacock feathers ,  cracked pistachio  and salty ocean . To add more texture I also sprinkled some water and picked it up with a tissue.   Next I used the scallop circle to cut a gold shiny cardstock and then again on a piece of vellum. I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder ....

Love Puffin Valentines

Hello! I am thrilled that Vanessa and the other ladies asked me to fill in for a little longer! Now that the Christmas holidays are over, I'm moving on to the next winter holiday...Valentine's Day! My husband and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, but I love to give little valentine cards to him and my friends and family anyway! Puffins are one of my most favorite animals and when I saw the  Love Puffin  set from Avery Elle I knew I would be making a set of valentines with it! I started by cutting cardstock to make 4-bar sized cards and then masked off 3/4 of an inch on both sides. I used various colors of  Distress Ink  and a blending tool to blend a gradient of color up the middle of my cards. I stamped the puffin onto watercolor cardstock using  Versafine Onyx Black  ink and watercolored them with Distress Inks mixed with Perfect Pearls. Of course there are matching  dies , but I ended up fussy cutting these little guys. I cut out stitche...

Waving Hi!

Hi all!  I so tickled to be guesting on the BRI blog today!  I hope this year is off to a Fabulous start for you!   Who doesn't love these MFT Polar Bear Pals ??  I colored him with Copics using one of my favorite color combos.  The sentiment was embossed with white embossing powder onto one of the MFT Blueprint dies .  The background was created using the MFT Horizontal Snow Drifts Cover-Up die-namics .  I used it to cut a piece of smooth white card stock, then sponged the shaped pieces on the inside with MFT premium dye ink .  I also spritzed them with some water for a cool effect.  Then I adhered them back in place using a piece of scrap paper as backing so it all stayed together.  The Snow Drift die and the bear were both adhered with foam adhesive for dimension. Thanks for stopping by!  See you soon! Hugs, Angel
