My Star Watercolor Background Card

Hello Everyone, its Trish stopping by today with watercolor background card for you!  I've recently been taking the Online Card Classes titled Watercolor for Card Makers.  The class has been really cool in teaching watercolor techniques with some of the products you may already have in your stash. So today I'm using one of my all time Favorite products to watercolor with, Tim Holtz Distress Inks!  The colors picked for this cards background (from top to bottom) are Evergreen Bough , Peacock Feathers , and Salty Oceans . To achieve the look of the background, you want to use an acrylic block and put some distress ink on it.  I only covered about have of the block with ink and then you want to spritz it with some water.  Then you smush it onto your watercolor paper and let it sit for about a minute and lift up your block.  You can then tilt your paper to have the ink be intense in some areas.   I then move onto the next color using the same...

*NEW* Lawn Fawn! Baby Boy Card

Hello Blogosphere! It's Tiffany here today with a baby card featuring NEW Lawn Fawn products! For my card, I used the new alphabet dies, Louie's ABCs and the Hello Baby Stamp Set! I paired it with the Freshly Cut Line Dance Paper too! Instructions: 1. Die-cut "baby" from white cardstock & Freshly Cut Line Dance patterned paper using Louie's ABCs. 2. Adhere the white alphas over the patterned paper alphas, exposing a little of the patterned paper. Set aside. 3. Stamp the background images onto a white cardfront & stamp frog onto a little piece of white cardstock, trim.  4. Adhere "baby" using small 3D foam squares. Attach mini-clothespin and adhere to card base.  Thanks for stopping by,
Hey my crafty friends! This Kristy and today I'm here to show you a fun card I made using goodies from the shop! Here's what I used: Pink Paislee Hello sunshine cards,  Pink Paislee Hello Sunshine stamp/die set,  Tim Holtz watercolor paper ,  TH Distress inks,  mini spritzer,  TH Distress markers,  a stamping block ,  grey card stock,  foam adhesive, and silver twine I started by inking the image, then spritzing it with water, and then stamping it onto the watercolor paper! I colored in the flower, spritzed it with water and then stamped it onto the paper. I then added some twine, and backed the card onto grey card stock before adding foam adhesive and putting it on top of the watercolor paper. Here's the finished card! I just love this look! Thanks for stopping by today! Make sure you stop by the shop and pick up some of these goodies before they are gone! -Kristy

Tone On Tone

Hi everyone, it's Shawna back with another layout. Today i chose to do something bright and fun.  I love the look of tone on tone scrapbooking so i did some of that in this layout.  I chose yellow. Something different for me since i normally gravitate towards a white background. If you look closely you can see i used a mask to do some tone on tone misting in the background too.  It is very subtle but i like the effect.  It also looks neat when you use a darker shade that matches.   One of my favorite products on this page are the new Chic Tags wood sequins . They are so fun!  Check them out in the shop along with these other fun products below.  Thanks for stopping by! For my card I paired the brush stroke images with some of my FAVORITE distress inks ! Yay! Lots of peacock feathers, broken china, salty ocean and iced spruce! Then I stamped the sentiment and embellished the card with those AWESOME hexagons and arrow from the Heidi Swapp sticker sheet I have! I think this card turned out so well! And you can totally mix it up and use different colors and sentiments for an endless...

Live in the Sunshine...

Hi!  It's Lisa here today to share a new and bright layout with you today!  I love when Vanessa sends us surprises from the store (thanks Vanessa!), and one of the surprises in my last DT kit was a pack of the I Heart Summer Pocket Pages by Simple Stories.  I have never really used pockets before on my layouts, but I was intrigued and determined to do so.  As I kept looking them over I thought why use pockets in the traditional form?  Instead I chose to use mine as my title and backdrop for my photo.  I LOVE the results.  Let me share a few more details on how this layout came together... Here are the products I have used (missing the white embossing paste ): I began this layout by creating some texture with a stencil and Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste : I also added a few spritz of blue.  I then adhered my pocket, photo and Jillibean Soup placemat: I then finished my layout with embellishments such as: Chic Tags Cloud 9 Aceta...

using a stencil as part of the sentiment

Good morning, everyone! Samantha here, and today I have a fun and lovely card to share! :) I used an awesome symbol stencil as part of my sentiment on the card! check it out: I used this super fun ampersand stencil from The Crafters Workshop , which I love!! I placed it on my card panel, sprayed liberally with some mr huey's sprays and lifted up! Easy-Peasy! :) Then, I generation stamped the 'you' and 'me' from the Lawn Fawn #awesome stamp set , and the mask + the words both work together to complete the sentiment of the card! Love it! Then i used some thread and wrapped around the top of the panel, embellishing with the super FUN buttons from the Fancy Pants 'As You Wish' set !  Yep, I think this card turned out A-OK! :) ha ha! But then again, I was working with product from the Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop ...you can't go wrong!  Have you check out the new stuff there, recently? You need to!  It's almost summer, and it's...

Oh Yes You Did Chevron Card

Hey Guys!!  Its Trish here again with another project for you all.  I have to tell you that I've been seriously loving all of these products that I've gotten the chance to create with that are available in the Butterfly Reflections, Ink store!  Today's card is a pretty simple one and it involves one of my newest addictions....Stencils!   For today's project I'm using the Here and There Mask Chevron Stencil by Studio Calico .  These are currently 40% off in the store, so hurry on over and get yourself one :)  There are tons of things that can be done with this Stencil but I wanted to use some Ink with it.  I attached the stencil to the front of my card with some masking tape and masked off each row of Chevron while inking it up with each color with the Tim Holtz Mini Ink Blending Tool.  I'm using Momento Luxe Ink in Sweet Plum  and some Hero Arts Shadow Ink in Navy , Tide Pool , Mint Julep , and Green Hills .   Onc...

Go With The Flow

It's Shawna today, back with a layout to share using the Studio Calico Lemon Lush paper.  I have to admit when i first saw this line i was hesitant. I really ordered for the colors.  It seems a little crazy and off at first but i decided to just go with the flow and see what happened.  In the end i really ended up liking the line more than I thought!  So my advice is that even if you think something looks off or mismatched try it out. You might like what you find.  Here is a look at my finished page.  I really like how all the different details pulled in the different colors from the line.  The Heidi Swapp watercolor heart tag was a lot of fun.  I recommend trying them out! I just used mists with mine. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. Hope you are inspired to think outside the box!  Please take a look at the fun products from the shop used on this page. sweet dreams with embossing paste and feathers!

Ha ha! Samantha here, and I have to admit, ok, so that title of the post made me laugh when I typed it out!  Embossing paste and feathers sounds messy and sticky! lol! Luckily that is not the case with my card today! :) I used lots of my favorite things on this card! I can't wait to share! So no more delay! Here's my card: Woooo! I love it!  That dark brown woodgrain paper is from the MME Wood Designer Cardstock collection! and it's ALL WOODGRAIN PAPERS! jackpot! lol! LOVE this paper! i used some white embossing paste and this DREAMY and so trendy stencil from Memory Box , to really make the stars and dots pop against the background! The sentiment is from the Dream mini set from Lawn Fawn , as are the feathers!  The feathers are fussy cut from the Basic Grey HighLine paper pad ...and wow! FAVORITE papers ever!! They're so bright and happy and FUN! LOVE LOVE LOVE! I popped up the feathers and added string to the bases so they looke...

The Best... A Layout

Hi!  Lisa here today to share a layout that I have made using lots of new My Minds Eye Products .  Let me start by saying if you do not own any of the new MME Market Street Collections you need to go to the store and order some now.  These collections might just turn into my favorite collections ever! With that said let's get on to the layout... I kept this layout clean and simple.  I used a minimal amount of patterned paper for a change and created a grid to ground the larger photos.  I then had fun adding my journaling and embellishments.  I finished my layout by creating a gold outline with gold perfect pearls and water. Tips: Double up embellishments as I have done on the stump chipboard with the rub-on hearts. Don't disregard embellishments because they pertain to a specific theme, always look through your entire stash and see what pieces can mix and match. Here's one more picture of the layout angled so you can see the shine of ...

Fresh Cut "Thank You" Card

Hey Everyone, its Trish here again with another project for you! Today's card is created using some great products: Lawn Fawn Stitched Journal Card Die, Basic Grey Fresh Cut 6x6" Paper Pad , Avery Elle Oh Happy Day Stamp Set , Bakers Twine and some Enamel Dots . I used the Stitched Journal Card Die set to cut out the floral mat, as well as the 2 banners.  I really wanted to the floral mat piece to pop from the card so I layered it onto of a dark piece of pattern paper from the Basic Grey Fresh Cut paper pad.   I layered all of my mat pieces onto my card based and decided that the banners needed a little 'something', so a bow was tied around them.  And of course, I needed to add some enamel dots.   Lastly, the sentiment was stamped with some Momento Tuxedo Black Ink .   And that is my project for the day, really simple card but I just love the mixing of pattern paper within this stack.   Hope you guys enjoyed this card and I'll ...

Pinwheel Centerpiece

Hey! It's Shawna with a new project today.  I know we have all seen pinwheels done with papers but if you haven't you're in luck today.  If you have then you get another peek with some really pretty papers from the Pink Paislee Hello Sunshine collection.  I really love these!  It is really simple to create one. You just need a square paper in whatever size you like. You cut diagonal from the corners towards the center but leave the very middle uncut. I also decided to do some mist droplets on the back of the larger ones because it is single sided paper and i didn't want to have the stark white showing when folded over.   When folding start with one of the corners and fold toward the middle and secure with a glue dot. I usually just start with the right hand side triangle, the top corner.   Do this with every other corner.  Here is the finished product.  I opted to glue my pinwheels to paper straws to put in this small vase. It's ...
