Mix and Match!

my name is elly and i love patterns! i'm usually a behind-the-scenes person, but i'm helping out with a card to bridge July into August! today i've made a little card with a fabulous Lawn Fawn's Party Animal stamp set and some new Pinkfresh Studio goodies. when i make cards or scrapbook, i always like to combine different patterns together to add visual interest. i used the mood board that Amanda made for inspiration: i used these fantastic triangular overlays in various patterns from the Happy Things collection of Pinkfresh Studio, and layered them over some paper from the same collection.  then i stamped some party bits out and colored them, and "fussy-cut" them out.  i attached everything with glue dots, a Tiny Attacher by Tim Holtz, and some adhesive to get a happy little card that i think is great fun! i hope my card inspires you at least a little to try layering some patterns of your own! -elly

You're Dog-Gone Awesome

Hello beautiful crafty people!!!   Lisa here with you today and I have a super clean and simple card to share with you today, that's just so darn cute!  I love the new Avery Elle Furry Friends Stamp Set, and the little puppy I've used today is definitely my favorite... Supplies Used: Stamp:  Furry Friends (Avery Elle) Die:  Small Stitched Rectangle Dies (Lawn Fawn) Ink:  Tuxedo Black (Tsukeniko) Various  Copics As I said this was a super simple project as I have stamped, colored and then die cut my panel.  After angling it on the cardbase I liked it just as it is, so I left it! hehehe!  Sometimes the challenge of a CAS card is knowing when to stop, and I think this worked out perfectly! Stop by the store to get some furry cuteness of your own as well as more tempting crafty goodies just waiting to go home with you! Happy Crafting! Lisa

Our Tribe

Hello there! Amanda back today to share a layout I created based off of this month's mood board. Have you had the chance to play with this yet? I just love these colors together! I have found that even when my inspiration is softer colors I tend to go with more of a pure saturated color. I tried to keep the balance here but that yellow just wanted to be bold! ;-) I used a mix of several lines from the shop and just had fun creating the flow of this layout. I really love the pops of watermelon. Supplies Used: Crate Paper Journey Ephemera , #Happy Word Stickers , #Happy Tags & Prompts stickers , Life's Sweet Round Stickers , Banner Love Puffy Stickers , Life's Sweet Badges , Creative Agenda Enamel Shapes , True Stories Wood Buttons , Craft Market 6x6 Paper Pad , Summer Vibes Photo Stickers , Distress Marker Cracked Pistachio , Waterbrush Detailer , Styleboard Charcoal Thickers Thanks so much for looking today! I will be back with a new mood board i...

Happy Birthday!

Hi everyone, I'm back with a birthday card using the fun images from the MFT's Whole Herd. I started out by water colouring the background with Cracked Pistachio distress ink and stamped the sentiment with Memento Onyx black ink which is from the same set.  I then cut a frame using the MFT Inside & Out Diagonal Stitched rectangle dies to cut out the frame and popped it up on foam tape on top of the water coloured background.  I cut out the fence from white card stock and glued it directly to the back panel. I added some white dots for dimension to the background with the Pico embellisher.  I coloured the cow in with copics and used the die to cut it out and popped it up on foam tape. We have the  Lawn Fawn Pre-Order  until August 9th, so head over to make sure you get your hands on the newest Fall/Winter Release. Thanks for stopping by, see you again soon! Using Distress Reinkers to Create A Vibrant Watercolor Background

Hello crafty friends! It's Jess from JessCrafts.com. Today I have an artsy watercolor card created with Distress Reinkers , Avery Elle Stamps , and an MFT stencil . Check out my video for more on the technique. I added water and and then drops of Mermaid Lagoon re-inker , Abandon Coral re-inker and Fossilized Amber re-inker .  Once I had my background colored, I used the Hickory Smoke re-inker to color the elephant from Avery Elle's Ellie set . I fussy cut out the elephant but you can get the Ellie Dies in the shop. Then I traced some of the triangles from the My Favorite Things Abstract Stencil . To finish it off I stamped some of the tiny sentiments from the set . If you like some vibrancy to your watercolor then this will be a fun technique and it's a great way to use the re-inkers even before your pads need to be refilled.

Hello Love

Hey everyone! It's great to be back on the BRI blog today! I am sharing a card using the Lawn Fawn Hedgehugs set.  I also used some bright, fun paper from the Pebbles Fun in the Sun paper pad .  I stamped the camera first and used washi tape to mask off and stamp the cute little hedgehogs in the view finder.  I colored the camera a bit with a grey watercolor marker.  The rest is simple stamping and layering.  Be sure to check out the pretty sequins in the shop! Paper Piecing an Ocean Card with Lawn Fawn

Hello crafty friends! It's Jess from JessCrafts.com and today I have a card featuring Lawn Fawn's Fintastic Friends stamp set and dies with some of their paper pads. I'm sharing the video on the Butterfly Reflections Ink channel so if you watch the video from the blog be sure to click over to YouTube to subscribe . I stamped the adorable fish, coral and rocks onto some scraps from the  Let's Polka  and Pint Sized Patterns Beachside pads . I used the Stitched Rectangles and Ocean Wave borders to create the ocean background. For some added definition to the die cut elements I went around the stamped outlines with Copic Markers . This helped tone down patterns on the outside and focus in on the image. I love that  Lawn Fawn's Fintastic Friends is great for summer but can be used all year long. I can totally see some gender neutral valentines with that cute pun this February.

You are the best!!

You're So Sweet Card

Hello, Butterfly Reflections friends! Did you know that yesterday was National Ice Cream Day? Did you have the chance to enjoy any?  Sadly, I did not have the chance to enjoy the real thing. So to make up for it, I decided to celebrate with paper! :) Using a Crate Paper 6x6 paper pad, choose a selection of papers to form the card layers and ice cream cone.  My Favorite Things dies make it super easy to create the ice cream cone.  Attach the layers of cards onto the card base. Attach the ice cream cone, topped off with a red sequin...as a cherry.   To finish the card, a sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Sweet Smile set does the trick! The card seemed a little too Clean and Simple, so the addition of enamel dots, complete the card!   There are always new products arriving in the Butterfly Reflections, Ink store ! Stop by and check out what is available!   Jessi Supplies available at Butterfly Reflections, Ink : Crate Paper - Open Book L...

And Baby Makes 3

Hi there, Joann here today sharing a baby card with you today! I started out by stamping my image from the  Avery Elle-Ellie  stamp set on some watercolor paper. I took my watercolors and painted a blue sky, my little elephant and the grass.  I created my own sentiment by using  Lawn Fawn- Milo's ABCs  stamp set for the outside and inside of my card. Avery Elle-Number Balloons Die  was used to cut the 3 out and I stamped it using the coordinating  Avery Elle-Number Balloons  stamp set with some  Avery Elle-Magenta Pigment Ink .  I cut some pattern paper from the  Avery Elle-The Everyday Collection Paper Pad  for my background.  Lastly, I finished my card by drawing my balloon string, added some Glossy Accents and Clear Wink of Stella to my balloon, and scattered some TCP Something Shiny Relish Mix ! That's all for today! Thank you so much for stopping by!  Have a FABULOUS Sunday! ...

July Mood Board inspiration

Happy Saturday! It's Marcie here, from Sharp Designs . I'm excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog today and have THREE cards to share using the gorgeous  July Mood Board  as my inspiration.  Aren't those colours divine? I couldn't wait to play along!  I create a bokeh effect on my first card.  I die cut circles  in a few sizes from a thin scrap of cardstock. Using it as my template I inked through it in various colours onto the yellow card base, saving the white pigment ink for last. The sentiment from Written in Watercolor  was embossed with  Liquid Platinum  powder. Sequins from the Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend collection finish it off.  For this next card, I made a fun shaker card using Flirty Frames and the coordinating Lawn Cuts . Ombre inking and an embossed sentiment from Party Animal are a perfect backdrop for the sequins !  The final card uses one of my favourite He...

Sweet Birthday Wishes

Hi there! Amber here today with a card using some fun new MFT goodies!! I thought this week's MFT Sketch Challenge looked so fun so I pulled out the new Birthday Wishes and Balloons stamp set for the big tag, which was cut out with the largest from the Stitched Tags Dienamics. The Birthday Wishes and Balloons stamp set has a companion die set to make cutting out a bunch of balloons a breeze! That's the route I wanted to go, but then changed direction last minute :) I grabbed my Blueprints #14 Dienamics for the flower pieces and the leaves. To finish the card off I added some turqouise and white striped twine, some clear sequins, and some black paint splatter! Here's the fun sketch I used, Sketch #237 on the MFT Card Challenges Blog Thanks for popping in today, hope you have an awesome Friday!!!!!!!!!!! ~~Amber~~
