Beautiful Just Because Florals with Jenny Colacicco

Hi everyone! It's Jenny here, so excited to be back here on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog after what seems like forever! There's no place like home though right?! Today I have two floral lovelies for you featuring the same Copic color combo, but a different look.  The stamps I'm featuring today are Hero Arts Togetherness Flower Bouquet  and Pinkfresh Studio Just Because . If you're interested in the Copic colors I used, I've included a photo below!  I used these on both of my cards.   I stamped them both in Nuvo Hybrid Ink in Black Shadow which is my FAVORITE ink for Copic Coloring.   I have tried lots of different types and this one stamps very blackly, sharply, and I can color almost immediately without any smearing.  I also use Xpress-It Blending Card.  I have tried other paper types but I always end up with bleeding outside of my stamped images. For my first card, I colored in the main bouquet image and then trimmed i...

Aloha

Hello friends! It's Ashley today, and I am so happy to be back on the BRI blog for a guest post! I have been loving tropical cards lately and decided to make one for all of you! Since I can't travel to the beach, I might as well bring a little of the beach to my crafting! I grabbed some of my favorite Pretty Pink Posh summer stamps to make this (almost) one layer card! I started this card by stamping my images from Pretty Pink Posh Tropical Birds and Tropical Toucans onto white cardstock, masking as I went. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink as I wanted to color with Copics later. Once all my images were stamped and masked, I was ready for ink blending! I used Antique Linen Distress Oxide for the sand and Distress Oxides in Picked Raspberry , Dried Marigold , and Squeezed Lemonade for the sky. I splattered the background with acrylic paint in gold and white, then heat set it. I removed the masks and colored my images with Copic markers. I added some hig...

It's Fair Time!

It's fair time!  Kinda, sorta, but not-really. . .  Thanks Covid-19, you really put a damper on one of the most fun summer traditions for this small-town country girl!  Hello friends, this is Crystal here with you today and I'm so happy to be back joining this amazing all-star team of designer's to help inspire YOU to create!  Today I will be sharing a slimline card featuring the Peek-A-Boo Fair stamp set by Avery Elle and it's coordinating dies.   Card details:  This slimline card measures 8 1/2" x 3 1/2".  Slimline cards are designed to fit inside a regular #10 business sized envelope and require no additional postage.  The base of this card is made from white cardstock.  I cut a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock measuring 8 1/4"  x 3 1/4" to create my background on.  Using the Picket Fence Studios Blender Brushes I applied Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide ink to the top third of the card, Dried Marigold Distress Oxide...

May All Your Dreams Come True!

Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm so happy to be back at the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! Today I'm sharing a slimline card that I created using a whole bunch of Lawn Fawn stamp sets. A bit of backstory: just about one year ago, my husband and I went on a mini-honeymoon to Disney World immediately after our wedding. I am a huge Disney fan, and my husband had never properly been to the parks. It was the most magical vacation and we had the best time ever. We had been hoping to go back this year but, like so many others, our travel plans got shelved due to the pandemic. I've been trying to re-make the magic at home as much as I can to ease the pain of missing out on the trip - I even tried to make some classic Disney World treat recipes at home - and, in this card, I tried to create some of my favorite parts of the Magic Kingdom. I made this a slimline card so that I would have more space to accommodate all the images I wanted to include. I am still (somewhat) pat...

Taylored Expressions

G ood Morning Friends! It is Dana here today and I am excited to be back sharing a card with you all. For my card today, I am using some fun birthday supplies from Taylored Expressions .  I started my card by stamping the Taylored Expressions Gifted Background Stamp with VersaFine Clair Black Ink . I stamped my background twice, once for the back panel and once for the front. I then heat set my stamping with Clear Embossing Powder . Next, I used one of my stamped panels and attached the Gifted Stencil to the panel with Purple Tape  to hold it in place. I then added Distress Oxide Ink  in a variety of colors to my panel. Next, I used the second panel I had stamped and ran it through my die cutting machine with the Gifted Cutting Plate . The cutting plate lines up perfectly with the stenciled background, so I then just attached the two panel together. To clean up the edges and to finish my card panel I ran it through my die cutting machine with Waffle Flower ...

Oh Gnome June MoodBoard with Davina

Hello crafty friends. Davina here on the blog, with some color board inspiration for you today. I made a Slimline scene bursting full of Lawn Fawn goodness, that I hope you love. The June BRIMoodboard is a very zen/spa like color combination of wood grain, both bright and bold greens, and a lavender. At first one would think these colors difficult to use, but since green and purple are complimentary colors on the color wheel, they always look fabulous together.  I pulled out about 7 different Lawn Fawn sets to create this bursting meadow scene, and the new Lawn Fawn Slimline dies both the  Large  And  Small  sets. I had a much different idea for this project when I first sat down. And about 5 hours later I had something very different than when I thought I was going to make. While flipping through my sets looking for images I wanted to use, I pulled out  Oh Gnome,   Gleeful Gardens,   Frosty Fairy Friends,   Fairy Friends,   Jump for Joy...

Slimline Citrus

Hey everyone, it's Julianne here back with a slimline card featuring a newer stamp set by My Favorite Things, Main Squeeze ! I have been wanting a citrus related stamp set but nothing was just right until MFT came out with this stamp set. So I grabbed it up as soon as it came out and finally decided to make these two cards to share with you. I started out my stamping all of the main squeeze images onto some Bristol Smooth Watercolor paper since I planned on using my Karin Brushmarker Pros today. I stamped them all with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed them using clear embossing powder. For my water coloring today I used the following colors: Canary, Gold, Apple and Grass. I decided to color in all of my images in yellow to be lemons but you could definitely do them as orange or limes. Once I had them all colored in I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out by running them thru my die cutting machine. While die cutting I ran some more of that Bris...
