Christmas Cards with Neat & Tangled's Nativity Play and Angel Wings

Hello and happy Friday!  It's Andrea with you today, and, boy, has it been awhile since I've been here!  I'm thrilled to be guest designing today: I was so excited, in fact, that I created two cards to share with you!  So, grab a cuppa, sit back, and enjoy! I just adore Neat & Tangled's Nativity Play and Angel Wings sets!  They remind me of the Christmas pageants I was in growing up.  Did you know that there was a pig at Jesus's birth?  Yep, there sure was because I portrayed one - complete with a solo (no, not a chorus of oinks, thank you very much)! I stamped all of the images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink , colored with Copics, and trimmed them out. I think Neat & Tangled's Radiating Star Stencil is perfect for these sets and knew I had to use it on one of my cards.  For this card, I masked off the ground with post-it tape, placed the stencil over my paper, and ink-blended with Fossilized Amber distress ink.  I removed ...

Quick & Simple Bulk Card Panels - VIDEO - with Concord and 9th

Hey friends! It's Ashlea here, and I'm back with more festive fun for your crafting pleasure. Today, I'm featuring the Happy Plaid stamp set from Concord and 9th . This stamp set is especially versatile because you can add or omit steps and change up ink colors or card stock to really make each card your own and individual. I created a video to show how easy it was using my MISTI . It's one of those bulk card deals where you can just turn off your brain and go and the result is beautiful! The video is linked here: The only pattern I had planned out ahead of time was the red card stock with all black plaid. I love buffalo plaid and while this isn't exactly buffalo plaid, the colors are reminiscent and remind be of a cozy blanket. For the blue card, I decided to omit the second single patterned line stamp to create a more open and simple plaid pattern. I used Something Borrowed ink by Catherine Pooler and used silver embossing powder on the d...

A Birdie Christmas

Well Hello!  Today I am sharing a super quick and easy card with you.  I am a big believer in simple and quick sometimes.  I find myself more often going the long way around a card rather than keeping it easy.  One good way is to use a sketch!  Did you know that many manufacturers will post challenges to inspire their customers.  My Favorite Things is no different.  I used one of their past sketches to make this card.  So let's get to how I made it. I created a card base and cut a small piece of cardstock from Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow Christmas 6x6 Paper Pad  and adhered it to the card.  I stamped the images from the My Favorite Things Tweet Holiday set with Gina K Amalgam ink .  I then colored them with copic markers and using the coordinating Tweet Holiday Dies , cut the images out.  I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set on a strip of white cardstock and adhered it to the card.  I then adhe...

Happy Llamadays!

Hello everyone, it's Amanda here getting a jump on my holiday cards!  Today I've combined two stamps sets to create my scene.  This super fun Llama set by MFT called Happy Llamadays   I Copic colored and die cut this llama from that set. The sentiment "Happy Llamadays" stamped in VersaFine Black Onyx ink is also part of this stamp set. I loved this night sky from the set Starry Scene Stamp Set by Avery Elle .  I stamped the night sky, then copic colored and fussy cut the trees and mountains, which was very easy. There are coordinating dies available with this set as well. I trimmed down my panel and layered over blue cardstock to add a little extra to my card. Thanks for joining me here today at Butterfly Reflections Ink.  Head over to the shop for these wonderful products and so much more!

Window card using Lawn Fawn stamps and dies

Hello everyone! Alexandra here . I am stopping by today to share with you how I created this window card using Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. As always I started stamping the images from Beary happy holidays stamp set and the color them using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. Once my images were colored I tried to decide on the design . Really loved the bears from the Beary holiday stamp set so I wanted to used as much of the images on a card so then I remembered that I had an older stamp set from Lawn Fawn Winter in the Park on my stash that had the bench and the light so it seem the perfect fit for two of my bears (the ones that will enjoy the show ) Now was time to try transfer the card design that I had in my mind to the actual card so I started by taking an A2 card base and inked the inside of the card in order to create a night sky. then I took the Stitched Hillside Backdrop die and die cut 2 panels one for the front of the card and one for the inside of the card! From the...

Neat & Tangled - Stay Cool!

Hey friends! I'm excited to be here with you on Thanksgiving! I'm looking ahead  to Christmas with this cool winter card. I have been so inspired by backgrounds like this that I've been seeing all over Instagram lately. I love how the colors are vibrant up top and fade into white at the bottom. I thought it would be a perfect technique to try for a winter card! To start things off, I grabbed some white cardstock and two colors of Distress Ink: Seedless Preserves and Spun Sugar. I started at the top of my cardstock and worked my way down with Spun Sugar. Then, I came in at the top with Seedless Preserves, making sure to blend off some of the ink before starting on my surface. I went back in with the Spun Sugar to get a nice even blend between the colors. I'm so happy with the way it turned out!   I got out my Mini MISTI and stamped these adorable polar bear and penguin images from Neat & Tangled . I'm so in love with this stamp set! I did some basic Co...

Inlaid Die Cut Card - VIDEO - Pinkfresh Studios

Helllllo, crafty people! This week has been an especially cuddle worthy week here in the Northeast. I don't know about where you are, but we're already seeing our second snowfall tonight. It's definitely putting me in the mood for warm winter hugs and what better way to express that than with the Happy Hugs stamp set by Pinkfresh Studios ? I added to the design of this card a bit by using an inlaid die cutting/inlaid dimension technique. Check out my video here: First, I stamped the bears image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it in with Copic markers (List Below). Next, I stamped the background sky image with Suede Shoes by Catherine Pooler onto a piece of 110lb white card stock. To do the inlaid die cutting, I needed to die cut not only my image using the coordinating die , but also the card front and the craft foam so that they were in the same exact spot on both. This way it created a well of sorts where I adhered image. Copic Colors Used: ...

Season's Greetings!

Yay it's Tuesday!  That means it's my turn on the blog.  I have been eyeing these super cute stamps by Hello Bluebird since I saw sneaks of them.  Truly.  I told Vanessa that these were a must have.  I was right.  Let's get to the instructions on how I made this card. First I made an A2 card base with white cardstock.  I then took a piece of 110 lb white cardstock and blended Dried Marigold, Spun Sugar and Dusty Concord Oxide Inks to create the background.  I trimmed down the background to 3 3/4 x5"and adhered it to the card base.  Next I stamped the cute images from North Pole Littles  with Gina K Amalgam Ink , colored them with copic markers and used the coordinating North Pole Littles Dies to cut them out.   I used Lawn Fawn Stitched Hillsid e dies to create a snowbank out of white cardstock which I trimmed and adhered to the card.   Using thin foam adhesive squares I adhered all the cute images t...

Penny Black All Lit Up + MFT Delightful Deer

Hi everyone, Amanda here today with a project I created using my favorite theme, nature and deer combined!  Add in a little  distress inking and WOW!   So I started with an A2 sized panel. I cut a hill using Newton's Nook Designs Land Borders  to create a mask for the bottom. I distress inked from center of my panel, working outward using a combination of yellows, greens and blues. I inked all the way down to the hill, then removed it to leave the white of the card appearing to be a snow hill. Now I take this GORGEOUS stamp, All Lit Up by Penny Black  and stamp it using VersaFine Black Onyx ink.  Using my MISTI, I was able to stamp it twice to get a nice dark impression. I then cut white acrylic paint 50/50 and tapped it on my night sky using a small paint brush. You'll notice on the image, there are little circles where you'd color in your lights or ornaments. I chose to use Nuvo Drops in gold and silver.  While all that was dry...

Penguins' Happy Holiday Wishes

Hello Everyone! Alix here showing you a holiday shaker card that I made to inspire you into the wonderful holiday seasons! Just remember, it's never too early to prepare your holiday cards. To begin with this card, I copic colored all images  from Pretty Pink Posh Elegant Holly and Penguin Pals Stamp sets and die cut them with their coordinating dies ( For Elegant Holly /For Penguin Pals ).  To create the background, I ink blended with Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in  Candied Apple  onto an A2 sized  watercolor paper . I splattered water and quickly removed all liquid with paper towel to create distress look. Once it's dry, I started to create my shaker window. I cut the ornament frame using   Pretty Pink Posh Ornament Shaker Die  and hand cut the inner script part off. Then I attached a piece of acetate paper right underneath of window opening. I poured lots of  Pretty Pink Posh Berry Bright Confetti Mix  onto the back...

Double Slider surprise card ft. Lawn Fawn

Hello everyone! Alexandra here today sharing a fun interactive double slider surprise card using Lawn fawn stamps and dies ! Here is how my card turned out , and I have used several of stamps from Lawn Fawn and also the Double slider surprise I started by stamping and coloring the images from Holiday Helpers  , Winter Village  , Coaster Critters using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers Then I die cut two panels for the slider parts and inked them using Distress ink Peacock feathers and once the ink was dried I stamped the snow falling from the  Snow cool stamp set   using Versa Mark and embossed them using white embossing powder . Also wanted to add some details so I took the die and die cut the forest border from white cardstock and added to the slider parts and also to the main panel so when the slider is open there is a continued scene ! Then I started adding the other elements to create the card! To finish the card I added the slider part on...

Altenew - Garden Treasure

Hey friends! It's Jess ! I'm so excited to be back with you again this week to share a pretty little card using products from Altenew. To start my card off, I taped a piece of cardstock down to a wood board with washi tape. I knew I was going to be adding some water to my project and taping it down helps minimize warping. I stamped out the largest outline image from Garden Treasure a few times on my cardstock. I used Raven Detail Ink for this. Once I had all of my flowers stamped in the position I wanted, I grabbed my Aqua Pigments from Brutus Monroe. These liquid water colors are so great and they're super easy to use. I used Violet, Yellow, and Coral for my card today. I added a drop or two of each pigment to my media mat and used a water brush to paint the color on to my cardstock. I wanted a loose watercolor look, so I purposefully went outside the lines of each flower. I liked how this gave it a little more of a whimsical look. After I watercolored each ...
