Celebrating Lunar New Year

Happy Thursday crafty friends!   Ashley D. here!   Lunar New Year, or Chinese New Year as it’s commonly called, is coming soon - just 5 days until we ring in the Year of the Pig!   And one of my all-time favorite sets has to be Mama Elephants Lion Dance!   To create this festive card, I began by die cutting a red frame from Bazzill Wax Lips cardstock using Mama Elephant’s Tri Window Cover die .   I then splattered it with Blue Gold Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor paint , backing it with a panel cut from Bristol Smooth Cardstock ink blended with Distress Oxide ink in Squeezed Lemonade , splattered with a quick spray of water for added texture.   For a bit of depth, I adhered it with foam tape.   I then stamped several images from Mama Elephant’s Lion Dance and Mama Elephant’s Lunar Extras in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and colored them with Copic markers (Y11.Y15, Y17, R02, R05, R27, R11-for the cheeks, E000, E00, E50. Make Something Beautiful

Hi, crafty friends - Kathy here!  I don't know about you, but I need to do something creative everyday.  Other than reading a good book, the time spent in my craft room lets my mind go to another place and I totally lose track of time! For my card, I layered a few patterns from Echo Park Just Be You paper pad .  All images are from Right At Home .  The coffee cups, which I paper pieced with other coordinating patterns from Echo Park Just Be You paper pad , are from the Cup of Joy stamp set . I placed the paint brushes in one cup and a wood coffee stirrer in the 'to go' cup.  The crafty items and sentiment are from the Make Something Beautiful stamp set.  I then added some glitter touches using a clear Wink of Stella brush tip marker . Hope you'll follow us via email , Facebook and/or Instagram so you're sure to catch all the projects the DT shares...not to mention, you'll be among the first to hear about deals and specials!

Stitched In Love Turnabout

Happy Tuesday everyone! Danielle here up on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog with a fun card using the new Concord & 9th Stitched in Love Turnabout stamp . This was my  first  time using a turnabout stamp! It was so easy and so much fun!! To start off, I highly recommend using the new Turnabout Jig  this makes it so easy to turn precisely and always have it lined up perfectly. I used Altenew Crisp Dye inks in 4 colors: Hydrangea , Wisteria , Aqualicious , and Almond Butter . Using my Mini Misti , I stamped 4 times in the different colors just rotating my jig, and not moving the stamp.  After all the colors were stamped, I re-stamped 4 more times with Versa Mark embossing ink and heat embossed using Wow Clear Sparkle Embossing Powder .  I adhered to my card base using foam adhesive. I used the heart and sentiment that came with stamp set and used the Concord & 9th Holly Jolly Banner Die .  I ran it through my die cutting machine t...

Love Monkey

Hi, my lovelies!  Toni here with you sharing a Valentine card for my favorite monkey. I started the card by using a Clarity Stencil Brush and Distress Oxide Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn to stencil the leaves onto the card front. I then diecut the Lawn Fawn Polka Hearts Backdrop die. I can tell I'm going to get a lot of use out of this one!  I next sponged the card base with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry using the negative of a heart die as a mask. I then covered the card base with Scor-Tape and laid down the card front. I sprinkled glitter over the entirety and burnished the glitter into the hearts using my finger. Such fab shine! Now the really really fun part!  I stamped the Sunny Studio Love Monkey images using Memento Tuxedo Black and colored them with Copics . They are centered on top of a Lifestyle Crafts diecut heart that I sponged with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple . I had intended to stamp the sentiment onto a ban...

Valentine Wishes

Good Morning! It is  Dana  here today with a Valentine's Day card using a stencil and stamp set from  MFT Stamps. Let's get started, shall we? I started my card by ink blending my background with  Ranger Distress Oxide Ink.  I used  Candied Apple,   Picked Raspberry,  and  Wilted Violet.   Next, I layed the  MFT Stamps: Lots of Heart Stencil  over my ink blended background.  Then, I added the same three colors of ink over the stencil, adding my hearts to my background. Next, I misted my background with water. I let my background dry for a few minutes, and then I added  Translucent Embossing Pastel  over my stencil.  While my background was still wet, I removed the stencil and added  Nuvo Pure Sheen Glitter in Ice White . This gave my background amazing sparkle and shine!! Perfect for Valentine's Day.  For my sentiment, I used the  MFT Stamps: Valent...

Love You Lots

Hello Crafty Friends! It is  Dana  here today sharing a Valentine Card using lots of fun products from  Reverse Confetti. I started my card by creating an Alcohol Ink background with  Ranger Alcohol Ink  and  Ranger Alcohol Ink Yupo Paper.  The three colors I used were: Flamingo, Poppyfield, and a little Wild Plum. Any reds and pinks would be perfect for a Valentine day card!! Next, I used the  Reverse Confetti: All Heart Cover Panel Confetti Cuts Die.  I cut it out of white cardstock and then ran it back through my die cutting machine with the (alcohol ink) Yupo paper. I attached the white panel to my A2 card base with  Lawn Fawn: Glue Tube  and then inlaid some alcohol ink hearts back into my panel in a random pattern. For my images, I used the  Reverse Confetti: Mouse Mail Stamp Set.  I stamped them with  Memento Tuxedo Black Ink  and colored them with  Copic Sketch Markers.  T...

Groundhog Pop-Up Surprise

Happy Thursday crafty friends!   Ashley D. here!   Happy Groundhog’s Day a little early – It’s February 2 nd for everyone out there that doesn’t celebrate it like us.   It’s been a family holiday of ours for decades.   A tradition begun by my late father as a replacement for Valentine’s Day - a holiday already celebrated by his mother.   My Dad’s quirky sense of humor made Groundhog’s Day the perfect alternative.   As long as can remember it was his special holiday to honor his girls – my mother, grandmother, and I.   And it’s a tradition I’ve carried on to this day with my own family.   So when, Lawn Fawn released their new Let’s Toast Pull Tab Add-On , I knew exactly what little critter I wanted to pop-up!   For my groundhog I chose to use the seated bear from Lawn Fawn’s Beary Happy Holidays .   I stamped him on Copic X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored him with Copic markers (E31, E33, E37, E43,...

You Warm My Heart

Hi, friends!  Kathy 'poppin' in to share a special little project with you.  With Valentine's Day almost here, there's no better time to tell those you love you're thinking of them than with a handmade card or gift! For my card, I used several Lawn Fawn goodies and a couple others.  To start, I layered Lawn Fawn pink cardstock onto the card base.  Using the Let's Toast Pull Tab Add-On Dies , I cut the top of a pattern paper from the Perfectly Plaid Spring paper pad .  Taking yellow cardstock , I used one of the Waffle Flower Nesting Rectangle dies for the backdrop and stamped a sentiment from Lawn Fawn Snow Day .  Putting together the Let's Toast Pull Tab Add-On Dies on the card, I then paper pieced the toaster from the Let's Toast set with shiny silver cardstock.  Wouldn't it be fun to have heart-shaped toast?!  I used one of the Candy Hearts Die as the 'toast' to pull up. These sweet bunnies are from Lawn Fawn Snow ...

It was so exciting to see all the sneak peaks of the fabulous new products that I am sure will be hitting the Butterfly Reflections shelves soon! I'm here on the blog today sharing a card that I made for a crafty friend! I used the Studio Katia Japanese Peony Stamp and  coordinating die for my focal point on my card.  This is such a beautiful floral set and the sentiments are perfect! I started by stamping the My Favorite Things Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots Background stamp with VersaMark embossing ink .  I heat embossed using Lawn Fawn Gold Embossing Powder  and adhered to my card base using foam adhesive.  I stamped the flower using Gina K Jet Black Amalgam ink and colored with various copic markers.  I used Lawn Fawn Chunky Glitter around the leaves and the center of the flower.  I adhered the flora...

Atoms and Ions

Hello, BRI fans! Toni here with you sharing a couple of cards using  MFT Cute Chemists . I studied chemistry for a couple of years in college and worked in the field later in life so this set immediately caught my eye. So cute! For this card I embossed the background using Versamark and Ranger white and red embossing powder.  I used Copic Opaque White to fill in the hearts. The sentiment is also embossed. The chalkboard effect is very cool, right? Next I stamped the girl in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her up using the below Copics . I had made another card using  MFT Cute Chemists  set; this one with a bit more of a masculine feel. The  MFT Hearts Entwined Die  (using a small piece of Doodlebug Cream and Sugar Paper ) is the perfect backdrop for this cutie.  I colored him with the below Copics and used Versafine Onyx Black for the sentiment. The tiny hearts are stamped in Catherine Pooler Party Dress . Feel fre...

Birthday Monkeys

Hello everyone, Gladys here! I have a birthday card to share with you using Mama Elephant products. Let's get started! For my card panel I cut Bristol smooth cardstock using the Lafayette frame. I ink blended it with distress oxide inks in picked raspberry and wild honey . Then splattered some water for texture. I stamped the images from this set called birthday monkeys . These guys sure know how to party! I colored them with copic markers then cut them using their coordinating dies . I heat embossed the sentiment from scripty bday . I arranged all the images like so and adhered them with foam tape for dimension.  And that completes my card I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Just Love

Happy Friday!! I hope you all had a Wonderful week! It is  Dana  here today sharing a two cards using the Gorgeous  Concord & 9th: Just Love Stamp Set. I started my card's by creating my backgrounds. I used  Nuvo Shimmer Powder ...if you do not own any of this powder stop what you are doing and head to the store to place your order!! It is so fun and creates the most gorgeous background!!  To begin, I used the  Tim Holtz: Distress Watercolor Paper . I used washi tape and attached the paper to an old cutting plate so it wouldn't warp as I added water. First, you want to wet your paper a lot. Then, you can slowly add your powder, a little at a time. I found it was easiest to control, by gently tapping the bottle and just letting a little come out at a time. Keep adding water, and tilting your paper to let the colors run together and cover your background. I also used a paper towel to dab up my extra water that accumulated around my edges.  ...
