Thanks

Hello, it's Rubeena with a guest post for you today!  This was a little fun to make and inspired by a challenge photo. I started with some watercolor paper that I prepped with some powder. I stamped My Favorite Thing's Lace Background Stamp with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder . Once that was heat set, I used Altenew's Thanks die to cut the word out. I cut out the words a few times using white cardstock and once with gold cardstock so I could layer the words for depth. I colored in pink using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen in Sugared Almond Pink and added some water to spread the color. I colored in random areas with Distress Inks in Walnut Stain and Black Soot. Once all that was dry, I layered the piece over pink and black cardstock and then I matted down all the 'thanks' that were cut out. I stamped and colored some of the flowers from Altenew's Wild Hibiscus using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. They were ad...

Hello Friend

Hello... Brandi  here... Hope you're having a great week. It's the day before Halloween and I bet many of you are dressing your kids up today for school Fall parties. Am I right? Shortly I will be. Our little man is going as Darth Vader from Star Wars. He's so cute with his little light saber. So I didn't make a Halloween card for you today but I've got a bright and colorful card to share. I just adore the new  Altenew Wild Hibiscus  stamp set, don't you? I stamped the beautiful images in black ink, similar to  MementoTuxedo Ink  on  Watercolor Paper . Next I colored in the beautiful images with  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers . Once I finished coloring the main panel I added a few sequins and this cute Hello sentiment from the  Altenew Halftone Hello  stamp set. The last step involved assembling everything together on a green cardstock base and adding a strip of patterned paper and a few sequins to finish it off. By the way have ...

Wishing You a Happy Birthday with Audrey

Hello there!   Audrey here with a birthday card to share with you today!  I started off by watercoloring a background for my card.  I taped a piece of the Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock to a board and wet the paper.  I tapped the Abandoned Coral Distress ink on my acrylic block, and added some water, and then did a watercolor wash on the wet paper to give a very subtle color.  I wanted the bottom right of the cardstock to stay white to look like clouds.  After it was dry, I diecut the watercolor piece with the Avery Elle Wonky Stitches frame.  I stamped and colored the hot air balloon, clouds and puppy from the WPlus9 Going Places stamp set, and then diecut them with the coordinating dies .  I paper pieced the center of the balloon with Lawn Fawn Let's Polka Mon Amie patterned paper before popping it up with foam tape.  I added the clouds with a glue pen, and stamped a sentiment and a few star clusters from the WPlus9 Wishing...

SHINE. You smile. I smile.

Hey everyone,  Jung  here!  Today, I'm sharing a scrapbook layout with you of my younger daughter. One line from my journaling says "You sure make me work for that genuine smile, but when you do, you shine!," and it's totally true.  We even have a joke in our family that she has a Chandler smile, lol.  (If you watch Friends, it's the episode where Chandler & Monica take engagement photos.)  I hope her smiles make you smile, just like it does for me! I took these photos of her while we were at the pumpkin patch, so I wanted to use fall colors on the layout.  I made my own fall embellishments using My Favorite Things fall florals  stamp set  and matching  dies .  I just got this set and I absolutely love it!!!  The stamps are small enough that I was able to use my beloved hero arts ombre ink pads; One of my favorites for fall colors is  butter to orange !  I did add a little bit of clear wink of Stella ...

Love My Crew

Hi y'all! Happy Tuesday! I'm back to share a super simple layout with you all. I seriously cannot get enough of this Documentary collection. What's crazy about this whole thing is that I was not in love with this collection when I first viewed it online. However, I have come to be so in love with everything from the paper, to the embellishments and of course, those Thickers. On this layout, I began with a simple geometric background. I then began layering my papers to place behind my photo. I felt that the right side of my photo needed a little something-something so I added layers for more interest. Then, I began to embellish with all of the fun goodies from this collection---the puffy stickers, the accent stickers and rub-ons. I hope y'all love this layout and gain some inspiration! Check out my YouTube video below for the full process! Products Used: Documentary 6x6 pad Documentary Foam Thickers Documentary Foil Accent Thickers Documentary Rub-Ons ...

Vintage Christmas

Happy Monday, everyone!! Emily here for you today with a trio of vintage-inspired Christmas cards. I can't seem to make one of anything these days, but who can blame me when there are such ADORABLE images to work with, like the ones in the  Christmas Nutcracker  set from Wplus9. Let's dive right in, shall we?  I started out by die cutting three ovals using the Avery Elle Sweet Scallops die set (apologies if you're tired of seeing me use these... I can't seem to stop! They're just the perfect size.) using my favorite Strathmore watercolor card stock. I then stamped the three main images from the Wplus9 stamp set: the little girl, the nutcracker boy, and the Christmas tree, using Archival black ink. I then watercolored all of the images using my trusty Zig markers, some water, and my paintbrush. I added a bit of gold Wink of Stella here and there for some sparkle. The sentiment was the same for each, die cutting the word Magical (from the Waffle Flower ...

Guest Designer Sunday with Carisa!

Hi everyone! Carisa here again for my last post as Butterfly Reflections, Ink. October Guest Designer! I guess you can say I am in full fledge holiday mode. Bring on the snow, I AM READY! Yes, I am already listening to Christmas music any excuse and making Christmas cards is the perfect excuse in my book. Today, I am using the Holiday Cheer stamp set from WPlus9's latest release. As soon as I saw this stamp set, I knew I had to have it. I have become slightly addicted to open line art images paired with solid stamped images and this set has both it was definitely coming home to me! I loved it so much as soon as I started stamping that I have not one, not two, but THREE cards for you today. Plus, a process video I hope you will enjoy seeing how fast and simple these cards are to make. I will be making a few more using this technique with a lot of different colors to have on hand to mail out this season.  Here is another card using the same concept except ra...

Thank You

Good morning!   Jessica here...I'm super excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog !  I've missed it!  I'm here today with a card featuring some of the new products from Altenew ! I LOVE the Dodec cover plate die !  The patterns are so pretty!  So I started off by smooshing Spun Sugar, Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold, and Ripe Persimmon distress inks onto a piece of watercolor paper.  Then I die-cut the panel with the Dodec die and adhered it to a white card base.  Next I die-cut the Thanks sentiment from dark pink cardstock and ran a versamark pad over the bottom third of the sentiment before heat-embossing it with glittery gold embossing powder .   I stamped the Persian Motifs with versamark onto white cardstock and vellum and then heat-embossed it with the same gold glitter embossing powder .  I die-cut the flowers with the coordinating dies and then layered them under the sentiment.  I used foam mounti...

Dashing Through The Snow

Hello  Brandi  here... I'm popping in with a fun little Holiday card to share with you today. I just love the new Holiday stamp sets that Avery Elle came out with recently, don't you? I used a couple of them on my card today. First I inked up the cute little people and polar bear from the Avery Elle Polar Pals  stamp set with  Memento Tuxedo Black Ink . Then I colored them in with  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers . Next I created the background panel using  Basic Grey Juniper Berry  patterned paper and plain white card stock. I created the snow slopes by using the sloped die in the  Avery Elle Snow Caps Elle-ments Die set . Last, I adhered everything together with pop up dots on a striped black and white card base and added the cute sentiment from the  Snow Much Fun  stamp set. On a side note, the  Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop  has been busy restocking items this week. Hop on over and check it out! Thank you...

You Warm My Heart by Audrey

Hello there!   Audrey here!  Today I have a card to share with you using a bunch of Lawn Fawn goodies!   love Lawn Fawn so much because all of their products work perfectly together and the possibilities are endless!  I started off diecutting a piece of the Lawn Fawn Let's Bokeh in the Snow 6x6 paper pad with the Small Stitched Rectangles stackables .  Then I cut another stitched rectangle out of white card stock.  I used the forest border die to cut a tree line on the top third of the white panel.  Then, I masked off the bottom third of that same panel and added Tumbled Glass distress ink to add water to my scene for the little iceberg, from the Critters in the Arctic stamp set, to float on.  I stamped, colored, fussy cut, and glittered the igloo from the Critters in the Snow stamp set.  The little penguin couple is from the Toboggan Together Stamp set.  I popped the igloo and iceberg up on foam tape, and then added a sentimen...

holiday fishes

Hey guys,  Jung  here with a holiday card using non holiday stamps.  I like to get as much use out of my stamps as possible, so I'm glad that I found a way to make a holiday card using these stamp sets. For my card, I used two stamps sets, both by Lawn Fawn:  fintastic friends  &  flirty frames . I did some  copic coloring , and added a little detail with a white gel pen and  clear wink of stella glitter pen .  I embossed the sentiment with  Versamark  ink and  liquid platinum embossing powder .  I popped the colored panel on a card base with some foam tape, and more foam tape for the black sentiment panel as well.  I finished my card off with some red sequins. That's it for me!  Don't forget to get your retail therapy on at the BRI shop ! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

#hello bath time

Hey Everyone! I'm back, sharing a super fun layout with you all! This layout was created using the Documentary collection, which I am totally loving. I began with a wood grain background and layered papers in a vertical position, which is my go-to design when I feel like I've ran out of ideas. I used 12x12 and 6x6 papers from this collection. Then, the fun part- embellishing! I used the puffy stickers, ephemera, and thickers to add the final touch. I hope you all enjoy this layout!   Products Used: Documentary 6x6 pad Documentary ephemera Documentary Foam Thickers

Peaceful Holiday

Happy Monday, everyone!  Emily here today with a peaceful holiday card with just a pop of color. I love little pops of red on holiday cards... I don't use red very much outside of my holiday crafting, so for me red is very festive and reminiscent of Christmas.  To start, I used the Hero Arts Hand Drawn Snowflakes 6x6 background stamp to heat emboss a white card base with Silver Pearl embossing powder. The effect is very subtle, but very pretty and frosty. I then took a panel of teal card stock that was cut down slightly smaller than the card front. I heat embossed the birch trees, deer, and sentiment in white embossing powder (all from Wplus9's Winter Wonderland stamp set), then added the scarf and cardinals in bright red embossing powder. The snowflakes (from the same stamp set) were added using Perfect Medium and Perfect Pearls. The final touch was to swipe some white pigment ink around the edges of the teal panel to give it that frosted look.  I hop...

Just Keep Swimming Layout

Hello! Samantha here today, and I can't wait to share this layout with you! I used tons of goodies from the shop , so here we go! I create the background with techniques I learned in my favorite online class ever from Big Picture Classes ! So, I won't go into details, but it was FUN! And could totally be created with Distress Inks (my favorite way to watercolor! Ha!) I matted my photo onto some white cardstock and vellum, and then started the fun part: embellishing! Those little wood pieces with the black on them, are from the AWESOME PinkFresh Studio Happy Things collection! I am seriously in love with them! They add texture AND a pop or two of black! I also added another wood veneer from Evalicious , that I colored with Distress Paints in an ombre pattern! It's the PERFECT way to add color to wood veneers! LOVE it! And that polka dot bow is from my favorite collection of bows - Studio Calico PrintShop ! I think I've ordered them at least twice!! I LO...

Happy Holidays

Hi all!   Angel here and I'm so excited to show you this card I made with some newly released MFT goodies that are in the BRI Store NOW , so feel free to go do some quick shopping then come right back!  :D  Ok, let's talk about how stinkin' adorable this elf is?!  He is one of the images from the Santa's Elves Stamp Set and I. Am. In. Love.  I went for a no-line look by inking him with kraft hybrid ink onto watercolor paper.  I heat set the ink so that I could then color him with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush pens and an aqua brush.  I wanted him to really stand out, so I kept everything else neutral, only adding an embossed sentiment from the Hand Lettered Holiday Stamp set and some sequins .  I used a glittered pen to made the bow on the gift stand out a bit more.  The grout gray card base measures 5x5 and is stamped with a background stamp also in grout gray for a subtle tone on tone look. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Craft...

Christmas Crystals

Hello  Brandi  here... I'm popping in today to share with you in a fun, bright and colorful Christmas card. I'm on a roll with making Christmas cards this year, how about you? Have you started? There are so many amazing Holidays stamps out there to choose from but when I saw this  Christmas Crystals Ornament  set from Hero Arts, I knew I had to buy it. Just think of all the possibilities and colors that can be used with it. I started out by stamping the ornaments and sentiment on a piece of watercolor paper using  Memento Tuxedo Black Ink . I colored in the ornaments with  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers . Love these markers, can't get enough! Next, I cut the ornaments and sentiment out and popped them up on a white panel using pop up dots. I placed everything on a polka dot background to tie it all together and add a little more color! What do you think? Super simple, right? Head on over to the shop and check out some more amazing Holiday set...

Heartfelt Sympathy by Audrey

Hello there!   Audrey here today with a watercolor card to share with you.  I am blessed that I rarely have occasion to need a sympathy card, but unfortunately, I needed to make one this week.   I wanted to create a special card, but a little more simple than my normal style; something not too flashy or over-the-top.  I started out by heat embossing the largest butterfly from the Paper Smooches Graceful Beauties stamp set onto a piece of Ranger Distress Watercolor Paper .  I stamped it first with Versamark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder .  (This is a beautiful stamp set, and though it is not currently in the BRI shop, you can always make a special request for it, and Vanessa will special order it for you.  How awesome is that?)  After I was done embossing, I watercolored the panel with my $5 set of pan watercolors from Michaels.  I was careful to really water down the paint so that the colors would be more muted.  The ...

Don't quit your day dream.

Hey guys,  Jung  here sharing 2 artsy cards with you today.  I've got a pretty easy way to mass create artsy, inspirational quote cards with an alphabet stamp set. For my cards, I used  Lawn Fawn's Milo's ABCs stamp set .  Not only do I love the font of this set, but I love how you get 2-5 each of the same letters, so you don't have to worry about running out of letters. First, I arranged the alphabet stamps on a big acrylic block the way I wanted it to appear.  (Essentially, I created my own sentiment.)  On the first card, I used Versamark  ink, stamped the quote onto water color paper, and heat set with gold embossing powder.  On the second card, I used  Versafine onyx black ink , and  clear embossing powder .  Then I watercolored over the quote using Tim Holtz distress inks in  picked raspberry ,  peacock feathers ,  salty ocean ,  tumbled glass ,  cracked pistachio , and seedless preserv...

Cherish XO

Hey y'all! I'm back with a layout that was a little out of my comfort zone but totally worth trying! Instead of using my typical white or craft background paper, I decided to use a 12x12 paper with calendars on it. My original idea was to highlight the "June" calendar, as this picture was taken in the month of June, but I decided to use the paper as is. I used a ton of different collections including Rise and Shine, Finders Keepers, Fine and Dandy, and so on. I decided not to have a focal point, and instead, create a totally random layout with embellishments all over the page. I used my punches with some of the 6x6 pads to create a more unique look and then added my smaller elements to complete the page. I really enjoyed creating this layout and hope y'all love the outcome! Snow Globe Tags

Hello and happy Monday! Emily here today with a pair of snow globe tags for you all. Now, I don't know about you, but I always seem to get really busy with cards around Christmas, which always makes me kinda forget about making tags. I took the opportunity to start early this year and created this sweet little set of tags using the new Avery Elle Snow Globe stamps and dies , my favorite Zig markers and a couple of other fun tools. I started out by doing all of my stamping onto some Strathmore watercolor card stock using Ranger Archival Ink in black. After die cutting the solid snow globes (you can also cut a window so that you can make a shaker card... how fun is that?!), I used my Zig markers to color and watercolor the images. I truly love that you can create such subtle shading with the Zig markers by just using such a tiny amount of ink and plenty of water... the blue of the glass dome is so subtle, but makes such a huge impact! After I colored everything, I wanted to...

You Warm My Heart

Hello, Brandi  here with a fun little Holiday card to share with you. Don't you just love these cute little seals and sentiment from the Avery Elle Polar Pals  stamp set? I stamped a couple of the seals, hearts and floating icebergs with  Memento Tuxedo Black Ink  on a piece of watercolor paper. Next, I colored all the images and water background with  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers . I'm telling you these markers are the best! They produce the most vibrant colors. Next, I stamped the sentiment and started assembling the card on a blue cardstock base with a sheet of  Basic Grey Juniper Berry Patterned Paper . To tie all the colors together I added a couple of cute little buttons. So what do you think? I don't know how anyone could pass up this  stamp set  and beautiful  holiday paper . So head over quickly to the  Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop  before they're all sold out!!! ...
