Butterfly Reflections, Ink

Hi, BRI friends! It's Dana and I'm super excited to be here again. It's been a long while since I shared my card last time. It's already late August and I think it's perfect time to start making holiday cards for this year. Let's see what I came up with today :) To begin, I stamped Avery Elle Polar Bear Peek-A-Boo Pals Stamp Set images in black  and cut them out using scissors. I colored them with Copic markers and highlighted them with white pen . I pulled out bristol paper and die cut the snowy background using Avery Elle Falling Snow Die(retired). Then I ink blended it with Distress Oxide Inks using Mini Blending Tool . I mounted scallop frame which I die cut with MFT Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frames Die-namics using foam tape. Then, I foam mounted whole snowy panel onto A2 sized white card stock. I white heat embossed a sentiment from Avery Elle Polar Bear Peek-A-Boo Pals Stamp Set onto a piece of black card stock and popped it up w

Hi crafty friends, Julianne here sharing a HUGE thank you card that I made for Vanessa. I have had so much fun designing for Butterfly Reflections, Ink these passed couple months and I am truly blessed to have had this opportunity. I hope that you found inspiration in my posts over the past couple months from not only me but the other amazing design team members. For my card today I used Altenew Hope Stamp Set and the Altenew Build-a-Flower: Chrysanthemum Stamp , I have never used a layering stamp set before but I loved the results.  If you haven't tried these stamps before from any company, I would definitely say try. The results are just beautiful and not having to color was AMAZING! Well hello there crafters and friends! Heather here with you today on this awesome Tuesday! I have to tell you all, my oldest went away to college about 2 weeks ago and I've been missing her like crazy! She's living on campus and is about a 45 minute drive away - which isn't terribly far - but sometimes feels like a million miles away with work, school, my other 2 children, church and crafty commitments. I am so thankful for technology which enables us to communicate throughout the day pretty seamlessly, however, her anxiety has really been on overdrive - which makes ME super anxious as well! I'm sure she will thrive and things will get easier but she's been having a rough go. Anyway, I wanted to create a card for her and it'll be her first piece of mail to her new college mailbox - which I hope will make her feel special and loved. I wanted to create a Slimline-esque card - this card measures 8 1/2 X 8" prior to the fold & 4 1/4 X 8"

Hi Everyone! It's Jenny here, and I'm so thrilled to be returned to the BRI blog - and I have LOTS of cards for you today - SEVEN!  I'm focusing on using stencils with Color Burst watercolor powders.    I'm using the just released Catherine Pooler Color Burst collection, and Butterfly Reflections Ink carries tons of other gorgeous colors in the store . For all my cards I'm using cold press watercolor cardstock .   You can check out the full video over on  YouTube .   My first two cards use the Catherine Pooler Designs (CPD) Perfect Vine stencil.  I laid out two sheets of cold press cardstock and on one I laid down the stencil, and then spritzed clear water  over the top with a Mini Mister .  I then quickly picked up the stencil and flipped it over onto the other piece of cardstock, pushed down to press the water remaining on the stencil into the cardstock and then lifted it up. Hi there and happy Sunday friends!  Jacquie stopping by today with a sweet little card featuring stamps from one of my favorite companies, The Stamp Market ! To make this card I used the Lovely Labels Stitched Nested Dies .  The stitched die cuts a frame around the label die cut.  I love this look..it is so elegant!  I stamped the layered butterfly from the Butterflies set on the label. I added a sentiment "Hugs to You" from the Lovely Labels stamp set. I finished off my card with some crystals from Pretty Pink Posh. I've listed all the supplies below. Hello everybody! Alix here today waving my hand to say hi to you all. It's been a while since I was here last time. I hope you had a great summer so far.  It doesn't need to be Valentine's Day to show your love. How about showing your love any time you would like to? To begin with my card, I copic colored the images from Waffle Flower Favorite Valentine Stamp set and die cut them with the Matching Dies . I set them aside for later use. Then I started to prepare the background. I ink blended onto a piece of A2 sized watercolor paper using Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in Fossilized Amber and Worn Lipstick . Then I splattered some water over it to create the cool effect.  I cut the heart shaped frame using Waffle Flower Nesting Hearts Dies . To create the texture,  I ran the negative part of heart die cut with Stitched Rose die (You could also try to use something like Wave Texture Die ). I adhere the front panel using foam tape to build some dimensions and

Hey friends! Britney here with a card featuring  Honey Bee Stamps Bill the Bear  as one of my favorite Disney characters, Winnie the Pooh!!! My husband and I have been fans of Pooh since we were kids! The branch and bee hive are from the  Birds and the Bees stamp set . I inked my background using Lawn Fawn  Forget-Me-Not   and  Freshly Cut Grass   inks and the  MFT Mini Cloud  and  Drifts & Hills stencils . I stamped my images with  Gina K Amalgam Jet Black Ink   and colored my images with Copic Markers.  I finished off my images by adding some highlights with a white gel pen. I used a black glaze pen on the nose and a shimmer pen for the wings of the bees. I popped up the bear and honey pots using some foam tape and glued all the other images directly to the card base.  I added Glossy Accents to the honey drips for a little extra shine.  I hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it. Hello everyone! It's Ashley with my last post for you as a member of the Butterfly Reflections Ink Design Team. I can't believe my term is already up! I loved sharing with you all each week! For my last card, I made something a bit different than my usual style, but I think it turned out pretty cute! I grabbed an adorable set from Hello Sweetums called Fuzzy Felines to build this playful scene. I started by stamping my images with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloring with Copic markers . I usually make ink blended backgrounds on my cards, but I decided to pull out some patterned paper and push out of my comfort zone a bit. I used Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangles on the purple scallop from Lawn Fawn Really Rainbow Scallops and the light brown from Lawn Fawn Knock on Wood . The woodgrain looks like a nice hardwood floor for the kitties to play on! I used the straight stitch in Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders to add the stitched detail to the top edge of the floor.

Hi Crafty Friends, Julianne here sharing another summer inspired card. I have a friend who is celebrating her son's first birthday and is doing a whale theme inspired birthday party so I wanted to make a card with the same theme. I used both Friends with Fins and Gill Friends stamp set from My Favorite Things.  I started out by stamping all the images I wanted to use on some Neenah smooth card stock with VersaFine Black ink and clear heat embossing them. I colored in all the images with copic markers. Once I was done I started working on the background; I originally thought I would do some ink blending but went with alcohol inks instead, I really like the shine that they give to the card.  I used the following alcohol inks for the background: Stream , P o ol , Sail Boat  and Turquoise . To control the inks I used my heat tool to just guide the colors in the direction I wanted them. While that dried I used the coordinating dies to cut out all my images, Die-namics Gill Frie

Happy Tuesday crafty peeps! Heather here to share a fun shaker card that I created using some of my favorite things: Distress Oxide Inks, Lawn Fawn Products, and fun Shaker bits! I started this card off by stamping and coloring a few adorable Lawn Fawn sloths from the Hang in There and the Slow Down and Enjoy Stamp Sets. The sloths in both of these stamp sets work so well together! I also added the balloon, birthday present, piece of cake, and little party hat from Lawn Fawn's Party Animal Stamp Set and a few leaves from the Flutter By Stamp Set. What I love so much about Lawn Fawn Stamps is the fact that so many images and stamp sets can work together so seamlessly! I decided that I wanted to create a shaker card for these little guys and inked up a piece of Bristol paper using Twisted Citron & Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink. Hey there Crafty Friends! Davina here to share some more August Mood Board Inspiration. It is mid August and I’ve made my first Halloween card of the year for the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog . I used a wonderfully cute and spooky set released last year by Hello Bluebird called  Halloween Fun . I really love that BRI carries the Hello Bluebird brand and appreciate that the matching dies and individual cover plates are so reasonably priced because I always make sure to purchase the stamps and matching dies. Today’s card uses a soft and shadowy technique that I have been practicing, and I love the different aesthetic that it gives to my projects. Once again I’ve use the August Mood/Color Board, which s rich in beautiful jewel tones, but the outcome is completely different. I wanted my card to be bold and bright, but at the same time give a soft and spooky twilight feel. And I think I’ve  accomplished my goal.
