MFT Otterly Love You + Distress Ink Blending

Hey folks! It's been ages since I've been here on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog! I am so happy to be stopping by to share another card with you! Show of hands of who thinks otters are the cutest thing ever! I've been hoarding the My Favorite Things Otterly Love You Stamp Set for awhile, but thought it was time to show it some love. To start my card, I cut a a nice of white cardstock down to 5"x5". Then using my MISTI Stamping Tool , I stamped all of my images with My Favorite Things Black Licorice Hybrid Ink . I used the otters, rocks and fish from the Otterly Love You Stamp Set . The turtle and the seaweed are from My Favorite Things Mermazing Stamp Set . I didn't do a lot of masking in terms of stamping all of the images, I needed masks for all of them anyway, because I wanted to do some ink blending on the bottom for the "lake bed" and the top to make this guys look like they are in water. Sending You Oceans of Love

Hi there and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink!  This is Tanya from Studio 5380 with a "mermazing" card to share with you.... Isn't she adorable? This little cutie is from the  Mermazing Stamp Set from My Favorite Things . To create my background I inked up some white cardstock using the following Distress Inks: Mermaid Lagoon, Peacock Feathers and Wilted Violet .  After allowing the inks to dry I stamped my background with the Mermaid Tail Background Stamp from My Favorite Things using  Versamark Ink.   Next I sprinkled on Ranger's  Super Fine Embossing Powder in White and heat embossed my background.  I also heat embossed my sentiment on a strip of black cardstock.      Using the scalloped die from the Die-namics Blueprint #27, I cut out a piece of silver glitter cardstock to go under my heat embossed panel.  This was adhered to a black cardbase.  I colored my sweet mermaids with Copic ma...

    Hello there! Gladys here and I'm excited to be back on the BRI blog today. I have a mermaid shaker card for you with lots of products from different companies. Let's get started shall we?   I always start out by cutting watercolor paper using a stitched rectangle die for my card panel. Then I create my own background colors, this time I used distress oxides inks in wilted violet , broken china , cracked pistachio and fossilized amber . As you can see these inks blend so well together you won't even break a sweat! I splattered some water onto my panel and let it completely air dry.      While that was drying I colored my images from the Mermazing stamp set by My Favorite Things using copic markers.
