October mood board inspiration!

Hi Friends!  I'm back with a super fun and colorful fall card using a few new sets from Lawn Fawn .  This adorable bear family is spending the day enjoying the fall leaves and pumpkin carving.  The colors on this slimline card were inspired by the October mood board.  To start, I cut a large rectangle piece from Bristol smooth cardstock using the large slimline dies .  Next, I used mustard seed and squeezed lemonade distress oxide ink to create a yellow sky.   Seedless preserves , picked raspberry, carved pumpkin and peeled paint inks used to create a tree border.  To create the forest border, I first cut a piece of acetate using the tree dies from various Lawn Fawn sets.  Then I used this piece as a stencil and ink blended the various trees in the background.  I also stenciled in the green hills and leaves.   The stenciled background adds a lot of interest to the background and additional pops of color!   Next, I stamp...

Sending Hugs

Hi Friends!  I'm back sharing more mood board inspiration using a mix of products from Avery Elle.  I pulled out my "stash" and decided to use some products that had been sitting in my craft room for quite a long time.  Do you raid your "stash" from time to time and use your older stamps and dies on cards?  To start this card, I ink blended a background using distress oxide inks evergreen bough , peacock feathers and antique linen .  The panel was splattered with water and left to dry. Next, lavender cardstock was cut using the  Cloud mat die .  A few of the cloud pieces were inked in green to look like foliage and the rest were inked in purple.  Next, a piece of white cardstock was used to cut the wonky square frame.  Woodgrain backdrop stamp used to stamp a piece of brown cardstock to create the "log," I used the Avery elements dot border die set to add a dotted pattern to the top of the log.  I stamped the imag...

A trio of cards and my first post!

Hi, hi, hello!  Erica here with my first blog post as part of the Butterfly Reflection Inks design team! I’m so thrilled to be part of this team and hope to be a great source of inspiration and enabling you a lot along the way. A big thank you to Vanessa for giving me this chance!  I’m going to dive right in with my post as it’s a rather big one. Sorry about that, but when you get excited in the craft room and are on a roll, there is no reason for stopping it. Or at least that’s my motto.  One thing I really like doing, and I will mostly definitely be guilty of this for my BRI blog posts, is using the same stamp set but make very different cards. I think it is so much fun to see just how different a few cards can look just by changing the colour scheme, the medium with which we colour an image with or a few different techniques used to make the actual cards. I personally LOVE heat embossing and use it a lot. Like a lot-a lot. In fact, I have done it on a...
