Happy Birthday w/ little agenda

Hello crafty friends! Gladys here and I'm thrilled to be back on the BRI blog today. I have a fun colorful birthday card to share using products from Mama Elephant.  I'm a huge fan of the Mama Elephant Little Agenda sets and I'm sure I'm not the only one. For my card I used the Little Signage Agenda and I want to apologize that it is currently out of stock on the BRI shop but you can add your name on the wait list and you will be notified once it is back in stock. There are a bunch of critters holding signs and alphabet stamps in this set so you can customize it to whatever you want it to say. I stamp the images in hybrid ink, colored with alcohol markers and cut them out using their coordinating dies .  For my background I ink blended the panel with distress oxide inks in blueprint sketch , picked raspberry and scattered straw . I splattered some water and diluted blueprint sketch using a small paint brush for added interest. I die cut a few elements to complete my s...

Let's go nuts! It's your birthday!

Hi everyone, Peggy here with some birthday card inspiration. This time featuring the Let's go nuts stamp set from Lawn Fawn's fall release 2020. This is such a fun set and as always with Lawn Fawn you can combine it with other sets to get more use out of your stash. That is what I love most about Lawn Fawn. Let me show you how I made this card! I think this turned out to be such a cute design and you could easily replace the squirrel with any other critter you have and switch up patterned papers and colors of twine. Also, I think this is a design that can be used for birthday cards for boys and men as well. I see others struggle with 'male birthday cards', whereas I never do. I just don't see why they wouldn't love a fun card like this!? I stamped the yay squirrel from the set and some of the acorns in Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored with my copic markers. I cut patterned paper to fit my card base from the Knock on Wood Petite paper pad also from Lawn Faw...

For the background of the card, I did some watercoloring on the Distress Watercolor paper with black, navy, dark teals and an aqua color to create the night/galaxy sky! And then once that was dry, I used some white embossing paste and the Falling Stars Layering Stencil to add some texture! I heat embossed the sentiment in white ...

Lemon Filled Birthday Card!

Happy Saturday, Friends!! I hope everyone is having a great summer wherever you may be! Summer here (in Canada) is starting to fade. The days are shorter and I've even seen some leaves starting to turn. While I love fall time, it's always a reminder of the winter to come and being in Canada, winters can be harsh and not a lot of fun. So, to keep the summer vibe going just a little longer, I've made a bright and sparkly birthday card with a lemon theme! I used the Main Squeeze Stamp Set along with the co-ordinating dies from MFT. I'm not sure what it is about lemons, but they just make me happy! I stamped almost all of the images with Versamark Ink and used white embossing powder . I should also mention I used watercolour paper! I decided to use my Tombow markers for the colouring. After all the images were coloured and die cut, I set them aside to work on the rest of the card. I covered the front of a white card base with grey patterned paper from the Woodgrain Whims...

Hi crafty friends! I hope everyone is hanging in there, and staying safe and healthy! Today, I have a fun birthday card using the Sunny Studio Plane Awesome Stamp Set . This one was sent off to my 3 year old nephew, who is obsessed with planes. To begin, I cut a 3 1/4 X 8 1/4" panel of Bristol smooth cardstock to create my background. I ink blended the background with Distress Oxide inks in Chipped Sapphire , Blueprint Sketch,  and  Salty Ocean . I splattered some water onto it, and set aside to dry. Next, I stamped the images from Plane Awesome  and Oceans of Joy  (balloons), and colored with Copic markers. I added highlights to my colored images with a white gel pen , and cut out with the coordinating dies here  and here . Next, I stamped my sentiment from Plane awesome to the top of the card, and heat embossed with white embossing powder. . Then, I arranged the planes onto the card, cutting the one in half on the bottom, so I could add the...

I stamped and colored the images from Speech Bubble Stamp Set , Peek-A-Boo Balloon Stamp Set and the Peek-A-Boo Pals Stamp Set  with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! Dim sum-body say it's your birthday?

Hello crafty friends and welcome back to the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog!!! Today it's my turn to keep you company and I decided to do it with this happy card featuring a bunch of Mama Elephant products. I started by stamping images from "Zodiac Dragon" and "Dim Sum Fun" stamp sets with LDRS raven ink , I colored them with alcohol markers and I fussy cut them. I then die cut two panels using the "Hexastar" die, one from white cardstock and one from Lawn Fawn kraft cardstock . I ink blended the white one with fossilized amber , carved pumpkin and ripe parsimon Distress Oxide inks, I splattered with clean water and loosened fired brick ink and I added a golden touch with some drops of Indian gold Nuvo mousse. I then used the hexagon die from the "Hexastar" set to die cut a window in the kraft cardstock panel, I distressed the edges with vintage photo Oxide ink and I splattered with mowed lawn and fired brick Distress O...

A Really Cool Birthday Card!

Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm super happy to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog today! I find that, while sometimes I make cards just because I have an idea and want to have fun, more often I am making a card with a specific recipient and event in mind, and I try to tailor the card to that person's taste. I like both types of cardmaking, and having to think of ways to make cards for specific likes or interests is usually a fun challenge! I made this birthday card for my sister-in-law. I know that she has loved the yeti and narwhal stamps whenever I've used them in the past, so I wanted to incorporate them into her card. I was also inspired by her love of Hawaii and warm weather, so I tried to make the scene look like it could be Hawaii. The background is a mixture of cardstock and ink-blended pieces, as follows: WATER: Distress oxide ink in Chipped Sapphire , Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers , blended onto watercolour paper and splattered with ...

You're Just My Type Birthday Card

Hey friends! Britney here with a card featuring several Lawn Fawn products ( Reveal Wheel ,  Love Poems Stamp Set , and  You're Just My Type Stamp Set ). If you’ve ever read any of my previous blog posts before, you know I like to start with my background first. This background was easier than normal as I used  Lawn Fawn’s Really Rainbow Scallops 6x6 Paper Pad . I cut two sheets of the blue using the Reveal Wheel base. One of the bases, I backed it with white cardstock and used the  Reveal Wheel Square Window Add-On  to cut a square window.  I used the Lawn Fawn Picket Fence Border die to make my baseboard and the  Lawn Fawn Woodgrain Cardstock  to make my floor. Before attaching my bases, I stamped the “click clack”, “ding”, and “turn me” using  Versafine Onyx Black Ink . I used the largest of the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Stackables for my Blue Jay cardstock and the largest of the  Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle St...
