Easy Floral Card with Jess + Brutus Monroe

Hey y'all! It's Jess and I'm back with another card for you today! I'm always in need of cards for those occasions that pop up at the last minute. It's nice to have a few on hand that can work for many different situations so you'll always have something if you're in a pinch! With that in mind, I designed this card using Brutus Monroe's Botanical Banners stamp set. This is one of my favorite floral stamp sets - it's so versatile! I've used this is so many ways and it never disappoints. To get started, I cut down a piece of cardstock using Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangle dies . I stamped the large floral image from the set in black ink and grabbed a few Tombow Dual Brush Pens. I scribbled on my media mat with the markers and spritzed them with water. I used a water brush to do a very basic 'loose watercolor' technique. This is basically a fancy way of saying I didn't want to stay in the lines! While I still had my water br...

Aloha

Aloha, and welcome to Butterfly Reflections Ink! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 with a bright, happy card to share with you today: Aren't these colors fabulous? I created my card background with some beautiful Distress Inks in the following colors:  Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Carved Pumpkin.   After blending my inks with a Mini Ink Blending Tool I spritzed the background with a bit of water. This spunky little pineapple is from the Lawn Fawn stamp set "Aloha".   I colored her with my Copic Markers then used the Aloha Lawn Cuts to die cut my image. To give this cutie some cool shades, I inked up some white cardstock with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink before stamping the shades from the Aloha stamp set.  Die cutting the shades with the coordinating dies created that fun, hot pink edge!  I used the Scripty Aloha Lawn Cuts die to cut out the word "aloha" 3 times and adhered the layers together before addin...

Succulent Friend

Hi, there friends! Crystal here on this awesome Friday with a gorgeous and fast card made using my newest purchase from Butterfly Reflections, Ink. The newest release for Pinkfresh Studios is so beautiful and this set called Simply Succulents just had to be in my collection. I love simple stamping and coordinating dies were a hit! To make this card I started by stamping the bases in Altenew Crisp Ink in Mocha. The succulents are stamped in Altenew's Forest Glades, Frayed Leaf, and Evergreen . The sentiment is stamped in Altenew Expresso.  The Simply Succulents coordinating dies are die cut in DCVW gold glitter card stock. Sequins are Pretty Pink Posh Gold Metallic. I love the simplicity of this and could very easily be made in a set with different sentiments. Thanks so much for stopping by! Crystal

You are Beautiful

Hi there friends, Crystal here on this awesome third day of Summer with a simple and fun card that is sure to cheer up a friend. For this card, I selected Altenew Perennial Beauty ! To make this I started with Crate Paper 6x6 pad named Gather . Next, I trimmed a white cardstock to be centered on the card and stamped the sentiment in Altenew Jet Black .  The flower was stamped using Altenew Perennial Beauty in Frosty Pink, Coral Berry, Ruby Red & Grapevine. Leaves are also stamped using Altenew Crisp Inks . I decided it would be fun to have 2 shades of leaves. After everything dried up, I fuzzy cut and adhered to the card.  To finish this, I placed Pretty Pink Posh Clear Droplet s . I love how simple this was to make and it turned out very pretty. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Crystal

Bold Lovely Hello

Hi there friends! Crysta l here today with a simple card featuring Concord & 9th, Altenew & Pretty Pink Posh.  The colors on this card were an inspiration from this week's Flag day. I recently purchased A ltenew Artist Markers Set A as I loved the brush tip on them, and the colors are perfect for color layering and blending. So with this in mind, I select Concord & 9th Hello Lovely image to color! To make this, I stamped the Concord & 9th Hello Lovely floral & sentiment on to a white piece of card stock using Altenew Ink in Jet Black . The entire floral piece was colored with Altenew Artist Marker Set.  Next, I added gold thread and gorgeous Metallic Gold sequins from Pretty Pink Posh . To finish the card I placed it on red card stock and added details with a white Signo pen.   This card is ready to be sent out, I loved how bold the colors are, and yet it turned out elegant. Thanks for stopping by today! Crystal

Hello

Hi there! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 and I have a fun shaker card to share with you today.  One thing I love about being a card maker is the ability to brighten the day of someone who has been feeling a little down. I try to keep a supply of "happy cards" on hand for just such occasions and I think this sweet card fits the bill perfectly...     This card went together pretty quickly and I'm thinking I may create a stash of these cuties! I used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink and a Mini Ink Blending Tool to create my background. The background was then adhered to a black card base.  I die cut the word hello from black card stock and covered it with Clear Wink of Stella to add some sparkle. The shaker portion of this card was so fun and easy to make with the Die-namics Shaker Flower die set from My Favorite Things. This is my first card using the Shaker Pouches from MFT and I highly recommend them.  They make creating a shaker card s...

Elegant Congrats

Hi there friends! Crystal here with a very unique card that can be used in many occasions. This card is now one of my favorites as it features lots of my favorite companies! Let's get started! First I started with a white card stock base. Next I die cut a black card stock with Altenew Dodec  . I selectively took out pieces and left some in place. This die cut was placed over a sheet of patterned paper from My Minds Eye "Yes Please" 6x6 paper pad. The ribbon is a sticker from My Minds Eye Yes Please   collection.  The "congrats" is a die from Winnie & Walter cut from My Minds Eye  paper pack. To finish a heart shape sticker was adhered with 3d foam adhesive to give this card some dimension. Due to the colors of this card, i feel it can be for engagement or wedding, even a bridal shower. Thanks so much for stopping  by today! Have a great day. Crystal

So Cool

Hi there friends! Crystal here with a "cool" card (no pun intended) made with Sunny Studio Perfect Popsicle. This Popsicle was screaming to be paired with Glossy Accents . Therefore I left the stamped imaged be the focus of this card. I decided to make a set of these as the sentiment was just super versatile. To make these, I stamped the Popsicle in 3 inks from Altenew in the following order Buttercream, Warm Sunshine and Caramel Toffee. Then I fuzzy cut and adhere them to the base of the card. The sentiment is stamped in Hero Arts Cup'O Joe. Of course we can't forget the glossy accents. On one card I placed the accents on the entire Popsicle and the other was just embellished with it. Both cards were embellished with Pretty Pink Posh Clear Confetti and Honey Bee Stamps diamonds. The background patterned paper is from Lawn Fawn. That is it for us today! Thanks for stopping by and  I hope you get some crafty time this weekend. Stay Cool! ...

Hope Today is Light & Bright

Good morning everyone and happy Tuesday to you! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 sharing a bright, happy card with you today: Isn't this little girl adorable? She is from the Mega - Mini Lift Off stamp set by The Greeting Farm.  I colored my images with Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating Mega - Mini Lift Off Dies.   Next, I gave my images a bit of sparkle with a Clear Wink of Stella Brush Tip Marker. I wanted my sweet little girl to look like she was being lifted up into the clouds.  So I created an airy background by making cloud masks with the Die-namics Cloud 9 dies by My Favorite Things.  After placing the masks on my background, I used a Mini Ink Blending Tool to ink up the panel with Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers. While my background was drying, I created my card base with this fun, colorful plaid paper from the Easter Express Paper Pad by Doodlebug Design. .  I added all the elements to my card with a bit of ...

Sweet Love

Hey Ya'll I'm back with another 12x12 layout using the  6x6 Everyday Paper Pad from Jen Hadfield by Pebbles . I used about four different pattern papers from the collection in this layout. I love a bright bold color and I love my floral, so as you can see I have a great mixture of both! I am also using  Ashley Horton  cut files. I love a good cute file for when I am not feeling like pulling out my mixed media. I just feel like the pattern papers really made this cut file pop! I went ahead and made my own flowers again to incorporate some of the colors and the flower that is in my daughters hair in the picture. I used the  Pinkfresh Studio Glitter Word Stickers  again. I really love how I can come up with a quick and cute title with these stickers, it really is a time saver! I hope you are all enjoying these layouts. Let me know if there is something you would like to see in an up and coming project in the comments below or just a friendly hello w...

Clean and Simple Bella Elephant

Hey folks! I gotta be honest, after seeing all of the AH-mazing things my fellow Butterfly Ink-ers have done this last week, I feel like a total slacker with this card. For real though, all I could think when I saw this Stamp was she simply needed to be colored. Nothing fancy schmancy, end of discussion. Can I seriously just pick her up and hug her? I stamped  Bella and Daisy from Wild Rose Stamps on some Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock with My Favorite Things Black Licorice Hybrid Ink . Also, the Bella and Posy Stamp would also be so cute! My color palette was simple. I used Ranger-Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Hickory Smoke , Worn Lipstick , Squeezed Lemonade , Mustard Seed and Ground Espresso . Last week, I showed where instead of building up color, I started with a lot and pulled up what I didn't want, this card is the opposite. I started light and built up color where I wanted it. I used the My Favorite Things Die-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle D...

Watercoloring with Zig Clean Color Real Brush

Hey folks! Ya know, one of my favorite things about Watercoloring is it can be a very forgiving medium. You can put as much work into it as you want OR you can let it do it's thing and you're good to go. Add either approach to a big beautiful Stamp and you've got yourself a deal. So, I started by stamping a Flower and some Leaves from the Beautiful Day Stamp Set by Altenew . I masked them off with Inkadinkado Stamping Mask Paper . Really, the purpose of this Stamp Set is to layer it using different inks. I love that look, but I'm a let's color kind of girl, so I just used the Outline Images. I gotta be honest, Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers are rarely my first choice. HOWEVER, if I'm looking for bold colors and something easy to use, they are my go to. I scribbled my color choices on a sheet of acetate and added them to my paper with a Brush from the Ranger Artist Brush Se t . Usually the idea is to build up color. With this, I'm adding ...
