BRI Moodboard inspiration with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here on the  Butterfly Reflections Ink  with some March Bri Moodboard Inspiration. Every month, Amanda puts together an incredibly amazing Moodboard for us to play along with. The March Moodboard is no exception, full of moody gemstone colors. Heather, BlackBerry, Olive, and fir. Now, I’m not going to lie, it was difficult for me to step away from the bright sherbet spring colors I had on my desk. It took me some time to come up with a card idea, but once I pulled these sets out everything came together.  I decided to build a green and purple animal party in the pond. I was going to use some fluffy critters at first, but I didn’t want all of that brown fur. So I thought cute green toads and soft purple swans were just what I needed. I flipped through my  Pretty Pink Posh  collection and came across this storybook set called  Pond Friends . I also got out a few of their birthday sets like the new  Birthday Wreath  stamp...

Chubby Snowmen Slimline Card

Hi guys! Kelly here. Im so excited to show you this slimline card I made using Art Impressions Chubby Snowmen Stamp/die set.  I started off with a 4"x9" 110lb Neenah Cardstock panel. I die cut a small circle mask and freestyle cut a ground mask & started blending Distress inks using finger daubers. I used Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, Picked Raspberry into Faded Jeans, Blueprint Sketch, Chipped Sapphire and a bit of Black Soot around the edges. While I let that dry I stamped my images onto the same cardstock.  I colored them with Copics and die cut them out.  The set comes with 3 Snowmen and a sweet lil bunny. I only used 2 so I added the 3rd on the inside.  I die cut a black mat from PinkFresh Studio Slim Diagonal Stitched Rectangles Die and mounted that onto my white slimline card base. Put it aside & I took my inked panel and added white paint splatter, let dry. I then removed the moon mask and the ground mask and trimmed it down a ...

Happy first day of school with Leontine

Hello! Last week I went to school pretty much every day of the week to set up my classroom. That’s why I felt like making this card, because I think we all know someone who’s getting ready to go back to school. I’ve got one week left and then the new year begins. But before that happens I’m going to talk you through how I made this card. First I stamped the crayon from Color My World with Lawn Fawn Jelly Fish ink six times. I colored them using my Copic Sketch Markers. The colors are: RV29, RV25, RV23, RV21, V17, V15, V12, V01, B04, B02, B01, B00, YG09, YG07, YG05, YG03, Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11, YR18, YR16, YR15 and YR12. I made two black stripes on each crayon with a Copic Multi Liner . I gave each crayon some white accents with a white gelly roll pen . I die cut the letters ‘school’ with Oliver’s Stitched ABC’s from some copic friendly paper. I colored each letter with the same colors as the crayon I want to put next to them.  To give it a blackboard kind of look I used t...

Foxy birthday with Peter

Hello everyone! I'm happy to be back to share some more inspiration with you all. I made this very foxy slimline card to wish someone a happy birthday! For the base I used the Slim Card Basics from Mama Elephant. I took a patterned paper scrap for the scalloped frame and I ink blended a simple gradient on the stitched slimline with Distress Oxide Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry . The white frames are made with the frame from the Magic Picture Changer set from Lawn Fawn. Why only use it for the Magic Picture Changer, when you can also make a fun slimline card with it? Or what about square mini cards?  The cute foxes are from the Fox Costumes Before 'n Afters set from Lawn Fawn. They are incredibly cute! And they work also great with the Magic Picture Changer, so this show you fun it is to stretch your card supplies. I colored the foxes in with my Copic markers and I gave them all some shiny details, like the cherry on top of the cupcake fox, with Glossy Accents . I l...

I also used the Lawn Fawn Slim Cloudy Stencil for those rolling clouds!  I hope you feel inspired to make fun summery cards! See you next time! :)

Little Witches with the BRI Moodboard

Hello crafty friends! Davina here, with a pun filled slimline card using Mama Elephant stamps and the July BRI Moodboard. The Moodboard this month is full of spicy warm colors like lilac, honey, poppy and mulberry. They gave me very bohemian vibes and I played around with several, ideas. Ultimately I decided to focus on the rich purple mulberry color as a nighttime sky, and the rest as supporting additions.  I used all Mama Elephant products for this little slimline and everything is available in the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop. I started by inking up my nighttime sky. I cut the panel using the Mama Elephant  Slim Basics  stitched panel, then heavily inked the sky using  Shaded Lilac  and  Wilted Violet . I tried to create a long cloud stencil using the cloud die and some scrap cardstock, but I didn’t apply enough white ink to make it visible. Next time I will have to make sure I put enough “oomph” into that.  From white cardstock, I cut some nice ta...
