You've Been On My Mind

Hello there! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a card I created for my Grandma's birthday! I was inspired by the March Mood Board ! Love these colors, and these images are just so FUN! For my card, I used the cutest floral images from Avery Elle : Sending Hugs and Sending Flowers ! And let me tell you, it was a struggle not to use those cute critters!! But I stuck solely with the flowers and I really like how pretty it came out! I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them all out! I popped some of the flowers up with foam tape , to add dimension!   I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some vellum ! Then I die cut the vellum strip with the Fancy Wavy Banners Die from Lawn Fawn! I sprinkled some warm yellow sequins around the envelope too! And I can't forget, for the background, I used a strip of the super awesome Dotted Washi Tape from Altenew ! Hope you play along with the BRI Mood...

Sending Warm Wishes!

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a card using some Neat and Tangled products! I just love these little eskimos! And since it's been in the low 70s all week where I live...I thought maybe someone else could use some warm wishes! Ha! I colored all of the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, and then fussy cut them out! I combined images from the Snow Fun  and Stay Cool stamp sets ! I popped them all up with foam tape, on those snowy hills! The hills were created with white cardstock and the the Stitched Hillside Borders from Lawn Fawn ! And guys...how pretty is that background!!!! No!! I didn't ink blend it...I used some of the Altenew Watercolor Nebula Washi Tape !! IT'S SO PRETTY!! I finished off the card with some white embossing paste , and my favorite star stencil ever! be sure to check out all of these goodies in the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop ! Happy shopping! ~ Samantha

You're Pand-awesome!

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a card I made using some Neat and Tangled products ! That panda though!! My oldest little Mann is obsessed with pandas, so I just **had** to make this card for him! I die cut that sweet little panda face from the Panda Die and did some watercoloring and ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks to add color the cut out pieces! I head embossed the sentiment from the INCREDIBLE AMAZING WONDERFUL AWESOME So Many Sentiments stamp set and popped it up with some foam tape! I finished off the card with a strip of that amazing rainbow washi ! Hopefully this card put a smile on your face and now you're ready to happily shop at the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop ! Enjoy! ~ Samantha

Hello, Spring!

Hi There! Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today. I'm super excited to be sharing this card today, as I am totally in love with all things floral! Altenew recently came out with this Floral Arrangement stamp set , and I had so much fun using it for today's card. I stamped out the floral images on white cardstock, using various Altenew ink cube sets: Cherry Blossom , Deep Blue Seas , Tropical Forest , and Pocketful of Sunshine .  I also used the matching dies to cut out the inages and then I set them aside to work on the background panel. I used the Layered Dahlia stencils from Altenew and a couple colors from the Pocketful of Sunshine ink set to do the background. I wanted the background to be a little more subtle than the stamped floral images, so I used stencil brushes to apply the ink over the stencils. Do you ever dig through your embellishment drawer on a regular basis? I always forget that I have all these washi tapes, ribbons, twines, buttons, et...

Little bits of Kind Soul

Hi friends - happy hump day! :D I wanted to created some bright and cheery flowers celebrating spring! I've had this Kind Soul set from WPlus9 for a couple weeks, but only used small portions of it in each corner embossed in white and colored with Zig Clean Color Brushes. Once colored and dry, I added a light blue wash over the entire background and then a bit darker blue closest to the image. I stamped the sentiment from WPlus9 That is All set, embossed with Hero Arts Liquid Platinum, and splattered on some watered down gold paint. Finished it off with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins - the ones with no holes. Thanks for stopping by; hope you have a GREAT week! Hugs, WHAT'S IT TAKE? Stamps : WPlus9  Kind Soul  and  That is All Papers : Papertreyink True Black,  Ranger Watercolor Paper Ink :  VesaMark   Accessories :  Hero Arts  white embossing powder , PTI A2 scalloped die, Zig Clean Color Brushes, washi tape, PPP seq...

Hello Mom!

Hi friends - I am SO excited to be a part of the Butterfly Reflections design team, so very excited! My boss requested a mother's day card, I said "what colors are you thinking"; he stared at me blankly for a solid minute and said "she wears black, that's all she wears"; well me too buddy, so we can do this! ;) I made sure the background had some fun black (actually light AND dark gray) going on using a stencil and added lots of color and dimension to the gorgeous flowers from Concord and 9th, Hello Lovely  set. The image was embossed twice, once on Ranger water color paper and once on Copic card stock for the pieces cut to add dimension. The image was colored with Tombow makers and a water brush . I splashed on lots of color from various inks watered down slightly. Fun, messy and colorful - I used a WPlus9 set for the inside and some washi tape to finish it off. Thanks for stopping by; have a GREAT hump day! Hugs, WHAT'S I...

Sending Smiles

Hi friends!   Kimberly here today to share a monstrously cute card using the new Monster Love stamp set from MFT!!   I just had to have this stamp set the second I saw it....the little monsters are too cute to resist! SUPPLIES Amy Tangerine - Better Together Glitter Washi Lawn Fawn - Stitched Rectangles MFT - Monster Love Stamp Set MFT - Monster Love Die Set Ranger - White Embossing Powder Lawn Fawn Ink - Juice Box Versafine - Onyx Black Ink I created my focal panel by criss-crossing the three glitter washi tapes across a black piece of cardstock and then used a stitched rectangle to die cut the panel.  I found a spot to tuck the sentiment in and stamped with Versafine, added white embossing powder and heat embossed. The monster was stamped and die cut and positioned on LOTS of foam tape for dimension! { Me waving bye - see you again soon!! }  This is a super simple card, but I love it!   Today is my last post for BRI, and while I'...

Golden Pineapple Thank You Card

Hi crafty peeps!  I love pineapples - they're so trendy right now!   I wanted to create a somewhat elegant thank you card using what could be considered a more cute-sy stamp.  The gold embossing gives it a richer look - and I love the versatility here!  More mileage from a stamp set is ALWAYS a good thing!! SUPPLIES Concord & 9th - Sophisticated Script Uppercase Concord & 9th - Sophisticated Script  Sunny Studio - Tropical Paradise  Love My Tapes - White Gold Dot Washi Copic Markers   Ranger - Gold Embossing Powder Versamark Ink Vellum Gold Cardstock I stamped the super cute pineapple from the Sunny Studio Tropical Paradise stamp set with Versamark ink onto a piece of vellum.   I heat embossed it with gold embossing powder and used my Copics to add color to the back side of the vellum.   I really love the translucent, stained glass effect!   I set that aside and started on my sentiment panel. I...

Hello, Summer

Happy Saturday!! Danielle here, long time no see. lol. I am popping in here at the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog with a fun yummy summer card!  Just in case you didn't get the memo, pineapples are "Trending" this summer. They were all over the CHA show back in January.  I fell in love with this Paper Layering Pineapple from Hero Arts.  Once, I got it in my hands I realized, what do I do with it. It doesn't cut out the pineapple, just all the details to raise for dimension.  I stared, and stared at the dang thing, then I knew what to do. I remember how I love the look of the watercolors on kraft paper. So, I went to playing. Don't add to much water, otherwise the paper will pill and wrinkle, since it's not made to accept all that water.  I added just enough to get the color down.  Then it needed a sentiment, and I found a few from the My Favorite Things, Polynesian Paradise set work great!  Finished off the card with some Little ...

Best Ever

Hey ya'll I'm Megan behind it all over at PokeFreckleDot and I am one of the newbies here at Butterfly Reflections Ink. I can't tell you how excited I am to be apart of this awesome Design Team. I can't wait to get to know you all and communicate about our favorite's and hopefully form new friendships! With that being said I would like to show you my very first project for the Design Team! I used Studio Calico wood flower veneers and painted them coordinating colors. To match the 6x6 pattern paper by Jen Hadfield . I am also loving Pinkfresh Studio new line the  Felicity Collection . I always have a hard time coming up with a title's that are clever or that aren't like a sentence long, so these  Glitter Word Foam Stickers  are perfect for me! I can whip up a title in no time! They not only have word stickers but they also came with stars, leaves and arrows, so I incorporated some leaves as well. Please excuse my painting skills (clearing my...

Coral, Mint, and Gold Birthday Wishes

Good morning! Heather here from Houses Built of Cards ! I'm new to the Butterfly Reflections Ink Design Team, so I thought I would start off by introducing myself! :) My name is Heather, and I blog over at   Houses Built of Cards . I have been married for 15 years to the man of my dreams, and have two sweet daughters age 11 and 10 that I homeschool – which keeps me busier than you would imagine!   I was born, raised, and lived in Northwestern Washington State until nearly 3 years ago, at which time we moved to a very small town in Wyoming (located at 7,200 feet above sea level) where we spent 2 ½ years – until late last year when my husband was relocated back to Washington State. It has been good to be back near the majority of our family, but we miss Wyoming and all the wonderful friends we made there very much! I absolutely LOVE making cards – and also enjoy scrapbooking memories of my family. I jokingly tell my husband that it is cheaper than therapy (although I’...

Stickers and Stitching and Stars - Oh My!

Hello all!! Samantha here, and I'm sharing a super lovely layout that I made using lots of fun products from the Butterfly Reflections Ink shop !! So let's get down into it, shall we? I used a super fun yellow-green ombre-bokeh pattern from my base - (It's from the Bo Bunny Lemonade Stand collection, and the 6x6 can be found here - it PERFECT for summer!!). I  have been seeing lots of layouts popping up where rub-ons are Rub On's are layered and used to add design and whimsy to the background of scrapbook layouts, and I think that's AWESOME!! I took that layout, and used clear stickers instead!! Same idea - similar look! I used almost all of the DIY Simple Stories stickers and made a cluster going from top left of the page to the bottom right. I LOVE how it looks!! I also added some White enamel dots , My Mind's EYE Necessities Wood Shapes and I even heat embossed some stars a sun and a moon from the Butterfly Reflections Ink Exclusive Stamp...
