Colorburst Card Set

Just a quick reminder that Vanessa is away this weekend and the shop site is unavailable until she's home.  It will be back online later this weekend (and you can purchase all the great supplies I used for these cards)!! ;) Good morning!   Jess here with a set of fun and unique colorburst cards! The secret to this look?  An air puffer used to clean photograph equipment!  I highly recommend using a puffer that's strictly reserved for crafting use...you wouldn't want to accidentally puff powder into the inner workings of your camera!! It's a fairly simple process...you place a piece of watercolor paper in a scrap box (to keep the powders from getting everywhere), sprinkle colorburst powder onto the paper, spritz it with water, and then puff away!  The puffing creates those thin tendrils of color.  I've created a video showing the process for three of my cards! Unbelievable Lawn Fawn with ColorBurst!

Hello, my friends! Janette here. I am so excited to bring you this fabulous card today so, let's get to it! Okay, do you ever see a new product and think "ya, that's neat but I'm not ______ enough to use that." Some people feel that way about Colorbursts. You might not feel crafty enough, good enough, creative enough, etc... Don't be intimidated. This may be the technique for you!  Begin by misting watercolor paper lightly with water. Break out those Colorbursts. You can find the newest dry powders (matte finish) here , the new Liquid Metals (shimmer finish) here and here , or individually here . Simply tap powder on your dampened paper and drip drops of liquid metal. Give another light water mist and either let your paper sit to dry or pick up and tilt to get those colors moving. Play to your hearts content. Add Colorbursts, blot, mist, brush, shimmy and/or shake. Enjoy watching the colors bloom. Do know that the color will continue to move ...

Have a Monster Birthday

Hello to all the creatives out there! Janette here, I have returned from the CHA trade show and am so excited for all the new items that will be coming to the shop soon. If you have been following the BRI Instagram feed, you have seen just a glimpse of the goodness! Today's card features Create A Smile and Colorburst powdered watercolor. The images I used are digital, but a stamp set is available with the monster and similar sayings, Big Time stamp set . I wanted to foil the greeting, so I simply printed it from my laser printer. Want to foil a stamped image? You can stamp images in black and then copy those with a laser printer for the same result. I began by printing the greeting and monster on 110lb white card stock. Then, I colored the monster with Copic markers in BG57, BG49, BG45, YG23, G14, Y13, YR15 and added white dots with a gel pen . Of course, after I added the white dots I could hear this monster begging for a bit of texture. I wet the sleeve of the sweater...
