Christmas Shaker Tag

Happy Tuesday everyone!  So glad to be back with you this week.   I am getting ready for Christmas even though it will be in the high 80's and even the low 90's this week.  Recently I ordered a ton of wonderful goodies from the store and couldn't wait to get inky!  Here is a fun shaker tag I made.  Let me walk you through the steps I took to make it.  First I used the Lawn Fawn Say What? Tag Dies and cut out three of the tag bases.  I cut one from white cardstock, one from green Gingham from Sunny Studio  and one from acetate . I then cut10 of the stackable tags out of white cardstock.  I stamped to and love from the Lawn Fawn Tiny Tags Sayings stamp set in Gina K Amalgam Ink , filled the heart in with a red copic marker and adhered the two tags back sides together.  I adhered one of tag frames to the acetate base and the rest of the frames together.  I used Lawn Fawn Glue Tube to adhere them all to...

Dogs Stamp Set by Jane's Doodles

Hello this is Nicky back with you today with this simple but slightly time consuming card.  I'll call this my 'virtually' no line watercolour card since I wanted a little definition.  The card uses Dogs Stamp Set by Jane's Doodles . I created a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock and die cut it using the largest frame die from Die-Namics Blueprint #25 by My Favorite Things .  I stamped my images using Distress Ink in Antique Linen.  I called this my 'virtual' no line watercolour card because I chose to use the 1st generation stamp rather than the 2nd generation stamp that is preferred for true, no line watercolour painting. I wanted to create a casual wallpaper affect (without the repeat) and starting from the top of the card and working my way down I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to watercolour each image.  Sometimes I used the brush directly to make the outline and other defined areas bolder. The card was finished out wit...

Happy Hedgehogs!

Hello everybody, this is Nicky with you again with a new card to share using Happy Hedgehogs by MFT and the Polka Stencil by Neat and Tangled . My card base is constructed of Kraft card stock and a panel of white card stock was stencilled using the Polka Stencil by Neat and Tangled.  I moved the stencil around and using my favorite Clarity Stencil Brushes and Distress Ink I created a layered affect but kept it very delicate.  I then die cut the two edges using a Memory Box border die that I don't see in the shop right now but you could use all number of edging dies found here .   I liked this one because it was a little 'spiky'! I wrapped twine around the card panel several times and then adhered the panel to the base making a sandwich with craft foam for a substantial feel.  I then stamped all my Happy Hedgehog components with Archival Ink and watercolour painted everything using a variety of the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers . These pieces w...

Happiest of Holidays

Hi all!  I'm so happy to be here on the BRI blog today!  I broke out the adorable MFT Santa's Elves Stamp Set to make another Christmas card (there are 2 left in the store!  Hurry and get them while you can!).  I colored the tree and elf with Copics, then masked them both and used MFT inks to sponge on the background.  I added gold glitter to the bell on his hat and some glossy accents to the ornament and star. Thanks for stopping by!  Hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!!! Hugs,

Belated Birthday Snail

Good morning, Jessica here!  I'm a huge fan of Lawn Fawn stamps and I was so excited to pick up the adorable Gleeful Gardens set from Butterfly Reflections Ink !  I love the snail and thought he would make a cute belated birthday card! I started off by cutting the frame with the My Favorite Things Inside and Out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle STAX from white cardstock and stamping the sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink .  Then I cut the clouds from the WPlus9 Sunshine Layers die with the leftover white cardstock.  I also stamped the flowers, grass, snail, and present with the same leftover piece of cardstock (yay for not wasting paper!) using Memento Tuxedo Black ink so that I could color them with copic markers.  After I colored the images I went over the clouds, flowers, snail shell, and present with a ton of clear wink of stella glitter .  You can see how much the snail sparkles!  I also added googly eyes to the snail for a little more ...
