Warm Holiday Hugs with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with some winter BRI Moodboard color inspiration for you today. I used the beautiful cool-toned colors of the December Moodboard, and tons of Mama Elephant goodies, to create this fun scene. The colors this month are Ice Blue, Classic Blue, Greenery, and Sparkling Silver. They are the perfect combination for all of the winter scenery. All of the items used are available in the Butterfly Reflections Ink online store.  I was so excited to pull out my Mama Elephant products and create a Holiday card with these colors. I knew I wanted to use my  Arch Snow Globe  die set, and looked for some arctic stamp sets to combine. I’ve always loved the  Me and my Yeti  stamp set and I thought the cute penguins from the  Little Penguin Agenda  set would go well together.  I stamped and ...

Frosty Fairy Friends!

Hey crafty friends! It’s Julia here with magical (and frosty!) scene card! I hope you are not sick of wintery cards yet! I realized that I have barely used the adorable Frosty Fairy Friends from Lawn Fawn, so I thought it was finally time to do so!  First I stamped my images onto Neenah Solar White cardstock and colored them in using Copic Markers . Then I die cut the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle dies three times out of white cardstock and layered them for extra dimension. I also die cut grassy borders and birch trees . The dies I used are currently out of stock, but the ones from Sunny Studio Stamps or Lawn Fawn or would work perfectly as well! I added a few stripes with my markers onto the trees to add a little more interest. After that, I ink blended Spun Sugar , Worn Lipstick , Dusty Concord , Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide onto a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock for a vibrant, magical winter sky. I also added lots of splatters of Liquid Stardust for m...

Oh So Jolly with Mama Elephant Little Agenda Friends

Hello crafty friends and happy Artist Sunday!    Ashley D. here.   I’m so excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog on the most perfect day to help celebrate those of us with a passion for creativity.     The holiday season is officially underway, and I’m so excited to be finally breaking out all those fun Christmas supplies.     Today I created a fun card featuring a wintery scene with some of my most favorite Mama Elephant Little Agenda friends.       I started by ink-blending a background with Distress Oxide ink ( Tumbled Glass ,  Chipped Sapphire ,  Faded Jeans ,  Candied Apple ,  Barn Door ,  Squeezed Lemonade  and  Scattered Straw ), onto  Bristol Smooth cardstock, then die cut it with the Mama Elephant  Hillside Cover Creative Cut .  I ink-blended another scrap piece of Bristol with the red and yellow Distress Oxide colors and die cut it using the new Mama ...

Mice on Ice

Hello crafty readers!  This is Crystal here with you today sharing a multiple interactive card!  I put off purchasing this adorable "Mice On Ice" stamp set for as long as I possibly could, but in a war between my wallet and Lawn Fawn products, my wallet loses. Nearly every single time!  I added three different interactive components all on this one A2 sized card.  The bottom left corner is a shaker, the top left mice are on Mini Action Wobbles and the mice on the top right are only visible when you lift the flap.  Card details:   The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  Using the Lawn Fawn Peekaboo Backdrop Lawn Cuts , I cut the frame from raspberry cardstock.  On the top upper right corner, I added a lift the flap die to the frame.  I stamped the sentiment in raspberry ink.  I stamped all of the mice images in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock.  ...

Snow Buddies

Hello crafty friends and readers! This is Crystal here today and I have two cards to share with you featuring vivid alcohol ink backgrounds and adorable snowmen!  Creating alcohol ink pieces of art to use on cards has such a WOW effect.  While I love the look of Distress Oxide inks, I still don't feel entirely comfortable using them, so when I want to create eye-catching backgrounds, Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inks are my jam. Both of these cards are A2 in size and feature the Snow Buddies stamp set and coordinating dies from Honey Bee stamps.  The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White Smooth cardstock.  I cut a 5 1/4" x 4" piece of White Yupo paper on which to create my background.  I dropped a couple drops each of Aqua , Pool and Patina inks onto the Yupo paper and blew the ink around with a straw until I achieved a desired look.  No, there is no rhyme or reason to my madness when creating with alcohol! J...

A North Pole Trek

Hello friends!  This is Crystal here today sharing my first winter/holiday card of the season!  Eek!  I'll admit that I've been slow to make the jump from fall and Halloween to Christmas cards, because I'm certainly not ready for snow yet, but I also know that yes, Christmas IS coming. . . eventually!  And, if I don't start making my Christmas cards now, then I'll never get them finished before I need to mail them. Today's card features the North Pole Littles by Hello Bluebird .  And yes, these "little" images are nearly as tiny as you think!  Each elf and reindeer is probably only about 1" tall.  This makes coloring real fun! *Note to self - color BEFORE you die cut, not after.  Lesson learned the hard way!  : ) This slimline card measures 8 1/2" long x 3 1/2" wide.  The great thing about slimline cards is that they will fit into a #10 business sized envelope, so you don't need to worry about additional postage.  The bas...

Window card using Lawn Fawn stamps and dies

Hello everyone! Alexandra here . I am stopping by today to share with you how I created this window card using Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. As always I started stamping the images from Beary happy holidays stamp set and the color them using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. Once my images were colored I tried to decide on the design . Really loved the bears from the Beary holiday stamp set so I wanted to used as much of the images on a card so then I remembered that I had an older stamp set from Lawn Fawn Winter in the Park on my stash that had the bench and the light so it seem the perfect fit for two of my bears (the ones that will enjoy the show ) Now was time to try transfer the card design that I had in my mind to the actual card so I started by taking an A2 card base and inked the inside of the card in order to create a night sky. then I took the Stitched Hillside Backdrop die and die cut 2 panels one for the front of the card and one for the inside of the card! From the...
