July Mood Board Inky Inspirations

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Hope your week is going well! Today I went a little crazy with the AWESOME July Mood Board from Butterfly Reflections, Ink and made a ton of cards with that as my inspiration. In case you haven't seen it, here's the mood board for this month. Loving it, right?! So for today's post, I'm going to start talking about all of the different inks I used. I wanted to make a variety of cards with a variety of techniques so I chose  Distress Oxide Inks  (with one regular distress ink in there, too), Hero Arts Dye Inks, and new to me,  Catherine Pooler  Inks. Below is a picture with all of the colors that I chose. Let's start with the  Catherine Pooler  inks,  Stone Blue,   Skylight ,  Polished , and  Rose Petals . As I said, this was my first time using these inks and I was SO EXCITED because so many people say wonderful things about them. And let me tell you, they're all true! I really appreciate that y...

Layered Roses....

Sorry guys, that's the lamest of blog titles, but it was the best my poor, tired brain could come up with! Norine from The Velvet Lemon , back with you today with some pretty layered stamping floral cards. I got to use a fun variety of products this week, to create these cards and I'm going to share them all with you here. To start with, I wanted to play with my new Altenew Crisp Dye Inks , to get a feel for the various color combinations.  So I used the floral stamp from the Story of Us floral layering stamp set from Altenew to try the various ink combinations and the flower I used on the gingham card is the Red Cosmos series , while the one on the quilted background card below uses the Tea Party ink set .  The leaves are a mix of Frayed Leaf for the base with a tad of Minty Mint thrown in here and there, and then layered, or actually just restamped with darker shades around the edges using Forest Glade , and Moss . The gingham card uses the Many Than...

With Many Thanks

Happy Saturday, Crafty Friends! I can't believe we are almost done with August. Seriously, I blinked and the month was G-O-N-E! My husband heads back to teaching this next week, so I am always sad to see him leave his more relaxed schedule, but he loves what he does, so that definitely helps! I follow several talented gals on Instagram who are planner designers. To be honest, getting my day planner was one of the highlights of the school year for me, but now that I am WAY on the other side of my school days, I don't really find use for a planner, especially since I use my phone calendar all the time. But I still like all things papercraft, so I love following these folks on Instagram just to look at their beautiful patterns! Today's card is inspired by Violet and you can find her instagram account here . This card incorporated a few different techniques with some of my favorite stamp sets. This Wplus 9 Freehand Florals set is still one of my favorites, and I'm ...

Happy Wishes!

Happy Saturday, Everybody! It's been a WILD month for me so thanks for keeping up with my somewhat disjointed blog posts. Sometimes I finish a post and think "What am I even SAYING?!" 😆 When you get stuck in a rut, it's a good idea to think outside the box and ask yourself how you could add more visual interest to simple one layer cards. I took my favorite white cardstock and stamped images from the  WPlus9 Happy Wishes stamp set   in various colors of dye ink. I stamped them in a circular pattern, forming a wreath image. Whenever I do a wreath image, I try to choose one floral image to be the main focal point. I stamped the focal floral image three times and chose positions that would cause a visual triangle. I then chose one larger leaf image for the main "fillers", and then used smaller images to build up the rest of the wreath and set aside this card panel. After I was done stamping the wreath panel, I wanted to kick this card up a notch! I stam...
