XOXO I like you (a lotl)

Hi everyone! Peggy here! Today I'm sharing a card with the incredibly sweet axolotl from the latest Lawn Fawn release. And he brought a friend <3 This set is called I like you (a lotl) and 'Axo Axo I like you a lotl' immediately popped into my head. Let me show you what products I used to create this card! I started by stamping out the cute images in this mini set a couple of times with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored them with my copic markers (YR, R for the axolotls and BG for the plants). I used the coördinating dies to cut out the images. I used Lawn Fawn Finley' s ABCs to cut out the XOXO and I distressed the letters with Distress Oxide Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick to match the critters. I put some glitter on the letters with Nuvo Glitter Drops Orange Soda . Next, I created my background by using the Cloudy Stencil upside down (I don't own the Ocean Wave Stencils yet) to stretch my supplies. I used Distress Oxide Pine Needles , Mermaid Lagoon and...

February 2021 Mood Board

Hello there! Amanda here today to share this month's mood board! You guys absolutely ROCKED last month's challenge. I'm so glad you all enjoyed the color palette, it's definitely one of my all time faves! I did however feel like the pressure was on this month to give you another great combo. Hopefully you have just as much fun with this one! Would you believe in the 7 years I have been doing these boards, this is only the second time I've done pink for Valentine's Day? And the last time was last year 😂 This time we're giving it a bold update with hot pink and black! It's not very often I include neutrals in my color boards, and today we have two! I have a feeling this is going to be a lot more versatile than it appears at first glance and I can't wait to see what you all do with it! Cotton Candy, Hot Pink, Jet Black and Steel Image Sources: Pinterest I can't wait to see what you all come up with using this color combo! Be sure to share your crea...

I Lava You!

Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm so happy to be sharing another card with you on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog! Today, I played along with the Butterfly Reflections Ink February Mood Board. If you want to find out more about the mood board, check out this post on the BRI blog. I challenged myself to stay within the colour themes of the board (pinks, red and silver) while building a scene that wouldn't normally be built with those colours. I think the final result is pretty cool! To make the background, I first blended some Distress Oxide Ink in Spun Sugar onto a panel of watercolour paper using the My Favorite Things Cloud Stencil . I then used more ink blending (Distress Oxide Ink in Festive Berries , Barn Door , Worn Lipstick and Iced Spruce ) to make the puff of lava and smoke erupting from the volcano. I masked off everything but the lava puff, and splattered it with water, silver watercolour paint and red watercolour paint. I added some sequins and hea...

Warm Fuzzy Hugs

Good morning, crafty friends! Today, I have a set of cards using Mama Elephant products; I absolutely adore their sweet images! To begin, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle Die  to cut two backgrounds from Bristol smooth cardstock for my card. I inked the first background with Distress Oxide Ink pads in Spun Sugar  and Picked Raspberry.  Then, I splattered some water and thinned out Picked Raspberry DO with a paintbrush, and set aside to dry. I did the same for my blue background, using Tumbled Glass  and Peacock Feathers  Distress Oxide Ink. Next, I stamped my images using the Fuzzy Hugs Stamp Set  with the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad . I colored the stamped images with Copic  markers, and added white highlights with this  gel pen. I cut out my colored images with the Fuzzy Hugs Creative Cuts , and set aside for later. To create the fun, bold title, I used the Big Warm Fuzzy Hugs Creative Cuts . I cut the title three...

I Chews You

Hello friends and happy Saturday! This is Crystal here today, a former BRI design team member from last fall!   I'm so grateful that Vanessa still includes us on the monthly rotation calendar to share with you even more creative ideas!  There is such amazing talent on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink design team and I'm so honored to be a part of it!  I had been eyeing this "I Chews You" stamp set by Concord and 9th for a little while because I thought it was different that a traditional "lovey-dovey" stamp for Valentine's Day.  It also reminded me of the little Valentine cards we all stuffed in decorated shoeboxes back in grade school! I also decided to use the January BRI Mood Board colors that inspired the color palette for my cards:     Card details: The base of this A2 sized card is made from Neenah Solar White smooth cardstock.  Using a piece of mint green cardstock, I cut the cardstock using the Poppystamps Doub...

You Make My Heart Soar

Hi Crafty Friends! Today, I have a fun slimline Valentine's Day card for you, using Sunny Studio  stamps. I have been long admiring Sunny Studio Stamps, and finally bought my first set, Plane Awesome ...and it is!! I absolutely adore the January Butterfly Reflections Ink Mood board, so I let the gorgeous color palette be the inspiration for this card!    To begin, I cut a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock to 3 1/4 X 8 1/4". I made a cloud stencil  by cutting 2 borders using Puffy Cloud Borders Lawn Cuts , and taping together to make a long stencil. I inked my clouds using Distress Oxides in Spun Sugar , Milled Lavender,   Picked Raspberry , and Shaded Lilac,  alternating the cloud pattern for more interest. Then, I splattered some clean water onto my panel and some thinned out Shaded Lilac using a paintbrush, and set aside to dry. Next, I stamped the cute images from Plane awesome  onto bristol smooth cardstock with the ...
