A cute elephant graduation card

Hi Crafty Friends, Alix here backing to the BRI Blog  showing a cute card I made using today's Pretty Pink Posh new release products. To begin with my card, I stamped the images from  Elephant Friends Stamp set  using  Memento Tuxedo Black ink   onto  piece of Neenah solar white 80 lbs card stock paper, and die cut with  Elephant Friends Coordinating Dies . I also stamped some accessory images from  Congrats Grad Stamp set  and die cut with  Coordinating Dies . Once I gathered all elements I need for this card, I colored them using my copic markers and set aside for later use. To prepare my background, I grabbed a piece of A2 sized watercolor paper and cut the center window piece with  Decorative Dies 2 . I layered  Pretty Pink Posh Graduation Stencil  over the outer frame and blended Tim holtz Distress oxide ink in  Tumbled Glass   and   Salty Ocean  to create my bac...

Lucky Duckling

Good Morning, Alix here to say Hi and bye "temporarily". I had a great time spending last four months hanging out with everyone here. This is my last card for Spring Design Team term. But I will be back sometimes to the blog and show you guys more of my crafting experiments and adventures! Today's card is all about how grateful for us to have our moms. I used multiple Lawn Fawn stamp sets. Lawn Fawn Rub-A-Dub-Dub stamp set for ducklings, Lawn Fawn Mermaid for you stamp set for you for rocks, Lawn Fawn Toadally Awesome stamp set for grasses, Lawn Fawn Happy Village stamp set for the house, trees, clouds and sun. I colored all images with copic markers and set aside. To build a scene, I wanted to create a lovely and calm scene of Mommy duck taking all kids to river playing while sun was just rising up. After getting some references photos from Internet, I hand drew a river outline on Tim holtz Distress watercolor paper and cut it out. I grabbed anoth...

Birthday Wishes from out of this world

Happy Tuesday, Alix here introducing my card for this week's Team Project using Lawn Fawn Beam me up stamp set.   To continue talking about scene building from last week, I searched on google by using key word "alien scene cartoon" , and tons of reference photos popped up for me to gather some ideas. I want to build a scene with all aliens living in their happy planet and the whole universe is their sky. So I started to put pieces together.  First of all, I colored all images from Lawn Fawn Beam me up stamp set using Copic markers and set aside. I grabbed a piece of Tim Holtz Distress watercolor paper to start create universe background. I ink blended using Tim Holtz distress ink in Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Chipped Sapphire and Tim holtz distress oxide ink in Black soot . Then I splattered some white acrylic paint by flicking a paint brush bristle. Now let's create the planet. The surface of planet should not be flat. So I cut some hills using L...

Building a scene with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies

Good Morning Crafty Birdies, Alix here showing you my design team project using Lawn Fawn stamps and dies to build a Spring scene. This idea of lay out comes from a picture from I saw online. I am not sure where other people get their references and inspirations,. I usually google with the scene or object and I am always satisfied with my searches. I was thinking about a scene with frogs and ducks, so I typed keywords and added "cartoon" in the end.. Oh yes  I found lots of ideas. First of all, I cut my front frame using Lawn Fawn Leafy Tree Backdrop Landscape die out of Neenah Solar white 80 lbs cardstock. To create the tree, I used Copic markers to color the tree trunk and branches and dyed the leaves with Tim holtz Distress Oxide ink in Worn Lipstick.  To create the scene behind this frame, I used Lawn Fawn Toadally Awesome Stamp set and Lawn Fawn Rub-A-Dub Stamp set  I hand fussy cut all images and colored with Copic markers. To save your time, You c...

Hoppy Birthday to you

Hello Everyone,  Hope you had a fantastic Easter on last Sunday! I made this cutesy card for today's Design Team project. Let me tell you a back story about this. It was about 3 weeks ago. I went to a local store and purchased a Frog planter. And the next day, we started to hear frog rabbit sound in the back yard. It lasted for many days. It was kinda nightmare because this One frog made extremely loud sound all night. My husband thought the planter I got was attraction. We tried many ways to find him but failed miserably. Until 3 days ago, our rain season ended temporarily and temperature went up to 80 F. The sound went away. We don't know if he moved out or something else, our night is quiet again. Now I am making a frog card to say bye bye to our visitor.   To begin with, I cut the frame 3 times using Lawn Fawn Peekboo backdrop die   , I stacked frames together using Multi medium matte . For the background, I used Tim Holtz distress oxide ink in ...

Creating Easter Card with Simple Watercolor Background

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday, I hope you all had a great Great St. Patrick's day last week. Easter Day is around the corner. I made this card today so I could prepare it early and avoid doing it at the last minute. I am so in love with these Bunnies and flower elements from Pretty Pink Posh Bunny Friends stamp set . I die cut them with coordinating dies and colored with Copic Markers couple weeks ago. I did A LOT. I meant I probably colored at least 30+ bunnies and 100+ flowers and foliage. Call me crazy. But it is so handy to make a card whenever I want to with free of stress. Now let us turn the topic into making this card. To prepare the background, I used a medium flat head brush applying Distress Oxide in Picked Raspberry mixed with water, and applied on a piece Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper . I kept moving around the water and add more color so I could build a little bit color gradient. I dried them with my Heat tool  and splattered some leftover paint ov...

I splattered some water over inked background, then quickly removed water droplets with a piece of paper towel to create white spot effects. Adhered it onto the card base when the surface was dry and set aside. I die cut a circle window using Lawn Fawn Outside in Stitched Scallop circle die and adhered over the card base using some foam tape to create dimensions. I colored all images from Neat and Tangled Magical Day Stamp set using Copic Markers and fussy cut them with my scissors.I assembled all cut out images onto the card. Then I added Pink Lemonade and Snowfall sequins mix from Neat and Tangled. At Last, I found ...

Happy Easter My Hunny Bunny

Hi Crafty Friends, Alix here bringing you an early Easter Card. Easter day is special to me and my husband. Because he proposed to me 7 years ago on Easter day. Guess where I found my engagement ring? In my daughter's Easter basket! He was going to bury the ring underneath the dirt at the park we first met. Then he worried that dogs will find and take it away. So he quickly hide it into the Easter basket at the last minute. The problem is my 2 years old daughter almost cried when I took the ring from her because she thought its from the Easter bunny. I will never forget that moment. hehe... Now let us talk about this card I made. I Picked Neat and Tangled Cottontail Cuties Stamp set for Easter scene. I stamped all images with Memento ink in Rich cocoa and colored them in pastel color combos with Copic markers. To create the background, I ink blended with Tim Holtz Distress oxide ink in fossilized amber   and tattered rose on Tim Holtz Distress watercolor papers . I used two...

Dam I love you

Hello Crafty friends! Alix here showing my project for this week. To create this card, I added lots of imaginations. Why can't we have different colors of trees instead of green trees? One of  Dr. Seuss's movie called Lorax came up to my mind. So I colored my trees in pink and blue as well. This is card is fairly simple but cute. I colored all images with Copic markers and set to the side. To prepare the background, I ink blended with Tim Holtz distress oxide in Cracked Pistachio , then splattered droplets with mixture of this ink and water. To create the hills, I used Lawn Fawn Stitched hillside border die to cut. Then I ink blended the bottom parts with Tim Holtz distress ink in Tattered Rose. I glued the first layer of hill directly to the background, then created some dimension using foam tape for attachment of top layer. After arranging all images onto the card, I stamped sentiment using Altenew dye ink in Rouge and Memento Ink in Rich Coco. To light up the g...

I love you more than a friend

Hello hello, Happy Tuesday! Alix here showing my card for today. When I was creating this card, a movie called "Just Friend" came up to my mind. This movie was talking about a formerly overweight high school nerd who attempts to free himself from the friend zone after reconnecting with his lifelong crush and best friend while visiting his hometown for Christmas. So here comes my story of this card. Two best friends are together celebrating the boy's birthday. They both have feeling for each other but not brave enough to express their feelings for love more than a friend. Thank goodness that Cupid's arrow is aiming them to help. Something miracle is about to happen... There are 3 layers to make this card. To make top layer, I cut top edge of paper using Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Border die . then using Pretty Pink Posh Love Shaker die to create the window. I attached a piece of acetate paper behind the window to create clear display. I ink blended Tim Holtz dis...
