PinkFresh Studio

Layered Bouquet Good Morning Friends! It is Dana here today and I am excited to be back sharing another project with you all. For my cards today, I started with the gorgeous stamp set from PinkFresh Studio called Layered Bouquet . I did all of my stamping with Altenew Mini Ink Cubes. The colors I used were:  Tropical Forest , Golden Sunset , Cherry Blossom and Sweet Dreams . I am loving these little cubes for layered stamping. The colors blend together perfectly, and give you the right amount of shading. I highly recommend them! Once all of my stamping was done, I used the Layered Bouquet Die to cut out my flowers. For my card panel, I attached a one inch strip of the Lawn Fawn Watercolor Wishes paper to the left edge of my panel. I love this paper, it has just the perfect amount of shading and it looks like you ink blended it by hand. I then stamped my sentiment from the Layered Bouquet Stamp Set onto my white panel and attached this to my card front. Next...

Everything's Rosy

Happy Friday Friends!! It is  Dana  here today with a card using the Gorgeous  Sunny Studio: Everything's Rosy stamp set . I started my card by stamping my flowers with the  Altenew Cherry Blossom Mini Cube Set . Next, I used the  Altenew Green Meadows Mini Cube Set  for my leaves. I love the Altenew mini ink cubes for layered stamping...they blend perfectly! I also used my  Original MISTI Tool  to help line up all the different layers. Once everything was stamped, I used the  Sunny Studio: Everything's Rosy Dies  to die cut my flowers and leaves.  For my card panel, I die cut the  Reverse Confetti: Vertical Stripes Cover Panel  from white cardstock. I then mounted this onto my A2 card base. Next, I stamped my sentiment onto a cardstock strip and attached this to my card panel. Then, I used  3D Dots Foam Adhesive  to attach my flowers to my card front. To finish my card, I added some of the...

A Floral Hello!

Hey, crafty friends! If you're stopping by cause you just can't resist a good floral card, then you and I will be besties. :) I don't really know the meaning of seasonal florals. Well, I do, but I break all the rules of seasons. When it's 20 degrees outside, I WILL be creating summer and spring florals because that what makes me happy. And if there's anything I've learned about cardmaking, it's that you should create what inspires you! If you've stayed with me through that long Public Service Announcement, then you've given me another reason to be your best friend. On to today's card! Although this card may look complex, it was actually pretty easy to put together. I stamped images from an Altenew set in multiple ink combinations and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. I set them aside and then created the background. I cut and scored a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base from dark gray cardstock and then trimmed down an additi...

Forever And Always

Happy Wednesday, BRI friends! It's Dana with my final blog post as a part of the Butterfly Reflections Ink design team. I don't believe how quickly the 4 months have flown by. Especially for today, I'm sharing two cards featuring many Altenew products. Let's get started! I began by die cutting both backgrounds from white card stock using Altenew Dotted Debossing Cover Die. I then stamping layering images from Altenew Garden Treasure Stamp Set. For my first card, I used Altenew Tea Party, Summer Afternoon and Green Fields Mini Cube Set. I stamped from solid image of bottom layer to top. I then finished off each stampings by inking outlines using the lightest color which I used for the bottom layer. For small flowers, I stamped them with Memento Desert Sand and colored with Altenew Artist Markers Set B. I then fussy cut all images using scissors and added details to flowers and leaves with Prismacolor Colored Pencils and Signo White. I splattered dar...

Friendship card with Altenew Build-a-Flower Gardenia

HI guys! Erica on the BRI blog today with a big blooming card using Altenew’s Build-A-Flower Gardenia set. I have had this set in my stash since it was released and I haven’t used it until now but it certainly won’t be the last time. It’s gorgeous!!  I started out by stamping the big bloom twice on Neenah Classic Crest card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink . To colour in the flowers I used the red pens from Altenew’s Artist Markers Set A /Red Cosmos. I like colouring flowers using a flicking technique to create lots of textures, low and highlights on the petals. One of the flowers I made slightly darker as the idea was to place them in such a way that the shadow from the first flower would make the second one darker naturally. Does that make sense?  Anyway, I coloured away until I was happy with the flowers and then moved on to the leaves. These I decided to use inks with instead of the markers. I might have gone slightly overboard (*gasps of shock* Erica n...

Partial Die Cutting Technique With Birthday Balloons

Hi Crafty Friends! Ali here with a fun card using the partial die-cutting technique to give it some "wow". The sets I have used today are from Sunny Studio - Bold Balloons and Birthday Balloons . If you are looking for a super versatile birthday set - look no further! These balloons can be used for all ages, male or female and you can vary the colour to your hearts content to suit the recipient!! I was reminded of this fun partial die-cutting technique by the amazing Jennifer McGuire, who did a recent video explaining it - so I encourage you to have a look at it if you are wanting further details.  The first thing I did was to draw a pencil line across a piece of white card. Then I layed down the dies where I wanted them (keep in mind the parts above the die will be the bits "sticking" up from the top of the card). I then placed my top cutting plate so that the pencil line was about mid-way through that tapered edge that my cutting plate has. Then I ...

For my (every single day) Valentine

Hi guys! Erica on the blog today with a little Valentine’s Day card for my sweet hubby. Yes, just one card today if you can believe it...! The funny thing is that we don’t really do anything special for Valentine’s Day here, we are the soppy type that do sweet things for each other all the time rather than wait for that one day of the year to make a grand declaration. However, making lovey-dovey cards is one of my favorite things to do. I absolutely adore the bear from Neat & Tangled’s Beary Merry stamp set and I’ve used him for today’s card. As I planned on using Copics, I stamped him up in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Classic Crest 110# card stock and grabbed my grey markers. I ended up using the cool greys for the big body parts of the bear and warm greys for the tummy, feet and his little muzzle. I also added some pink for rosy cheeks. On the scarf I drew a hearts and dots pattern in a rich red. There is a very quick progress video on my Instagram feed if you want t...

I am Rooting for You!

Hi Everyone! Alix here today with my first Design Team post. I would like to thank Vanessa giving a newbie like me a chance to showcase what I am passionate for. I am nervous and excited at the same time since this is my first time being a DT member, but I believe that I will have an amazing time hanging out with all of you on every Tuesday. Valentine's day is about 5 weeks away. I am trying to jump out of traditional red and pink color tones and dive into something non-traditional scene with some Spring breeze. I pulled out all my stamps that related to Valentine or love, and this stamp from Lawn Fawn Rooting For You caught my eyes. My first step in creating these cards was stamping multiples of all stamp images from this stamp by using Altenew dye ink mini cubes and used my MISTI stamping tool so I could easily re-stamp an image if it didn't turn out perfectly. I hand cut all images and assembled them. It was not a time saving process if you don't have coordinatin...

Holiday Thank you card

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!  It's Jacquie here on this Christmas Day sharing a holiday Thank you card.   This will likely be a thank you I send for a Christmas gift, I wanted it to have a seasonal winter feel to it, so I used Concord and 9th's Perfect Plaid stamp .  I simply stamped it in black ink on red card stock to create that fun buffalo check.  I trimmed it down for this card and used it as a backdrop.  The flowers and greeting are from a new Altenew layering set called Flower Arrangement .  I am in love with that font...isn't it gorgeous?  I did mostly second generation stamping to lighten up the flowers and make them more subtle.  I used the  coordinating die set  to cut them out and make a cute arrangement on my plaid panel. I also added a little berry accent stamping with one of my all time favorite sets  Altenew Beautiful Day. I finished it off by stamping the greeting and adding so...

Pretty Pretty Pumpkins

Hey all,   Jacquie here today with a card that was inspired by a beautiful floral arrangement I saw while I was out shopping recently. The floral arrangement was of some really lovely flowers, using a pumpkin as it's vase.  I have had this Sunny Studio Pretty Pumpkin set for awhile now and knew they were going to serve as my vase.  I inked up the 3 layered pumpkins using the Warm and Cozy Mini Ink Cube set from Altenew.  I also inked up the pumpkin leaves using a few colors from the Tropical Forest Mini Ink Cube Set from Altenew.  If you have not tried Altenew inks before, you need to...they are totally my favorite for layering! I used some small floral images from several different sets.  The small roses are from the new WPlus9 Rose Builder set and the other florals are from WPlus9 Summer Florals 2 .  I used more layering inks from Altnew - Sea Shore Mini Inks ,   Pocketful of Sunshine Mini Inks  and the most fabul...

Happy Fall Ya'll

Hello Crafty peeps!  I’m Jacquie and today is my first post as a member of the awesome Butterfly Reflections Ink Design Team!  I’m so honored, and excited to be here and I  can’t wait to share my creations with you every week!  A little about me - I’m married to my High School sweetheart, and we live in the Austin, Texas area with our 4 dogs.  I’ve been a paper crafter for 20 plus years and I love trying new things when it comes to card making.  So, on to my card…today I’m sharing a card I made using a stamp set from a company that I have never used before.  I chose this adorable set from  Kraftin'  Kimmie  stamps b ecause it actually feels like fall here in Texas (well, it’s in the 80’s anyway). I stamped the sweet little girl and basket of apples images on to some Copic friendly cardstock using the New Altenew Permanent Black Crisp Dye Ink .  I colored the images and cut them out.  I then cut...

Altenew Prayers

Hello, friends! Crystal here on this Friday with a card made with my newest Butterfly Reflections haul.  As I try to beat the heat and stay inside, I created this card using one of Altenew's newest releases, Floral Fantasy.  The minute I saw this, I knew I had to have it, and well it somehow made its way to my little hands. Anyways, this is my card: It was very quite simple to create. First I began by splattering gold Gansai Tambi Stary Colors, next I stamped the flowers in Altenew Inks, Frayed Leaf, Evergreen and Forest Glades. The blue flower is stamped in Cool Summer Night set of inks. The leaf is stamped in Altenew Sand Dunes. These flowers were of course layered and finished off the prayers sentiment from Hero Arts die cut in gold card stock. Pretty Pink Posh Gold Metallic sequins added some more gold touches to this. What are your thoughts on Altenew's newest release? Thanks for stopping by! Crystal
