Butterfly Reflections, Ink

  Hey crafty friends... Heather here to share a fun mixed media scrapbook layout! The picture is of my mother and daughter on a beautiful day at the park and I managed to snap this gorgeous view of them.   This layout was inspired by this fantastic Spellbinders Cascading Butterfly die .  I LOVE butterflies and any product that allows me to use them and create different types of embellishments customized to match my project is a must have!!  This die is approximately 4" x 6" and it cuts the outline of the butterfly cluster as well as the butterflies.  I wanted to create lots of dimension and with this die and it is perfect to create little butterfly shaker pockets!   I started with a piece of white cardstock and spread a layer of clear gesso  so I could add some Distress ink to my background.  Adding gesso allows the ink to spread easily without it soaking in to the cardstock too quickly as well as makes the background sturdy.  It will still warp some, but not as

Hey There! Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I'm excited to share this card with you cause it was super fun to make! I started out by stamping out my images from the My Favorite Things Rain or Shine stamp set on to a smooth Bristol cardstock with a detailed black pigment ink. I then applied clear embossing powder and heat set the images. I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a water brush to color in my images. After all of the coloring was done, I used the matching dies to cut out the images. I knew I wanted to create a rainy sky and ground scene, so I used several colors of Distress Inks and a blending brush to create the scene. I then used a circle die and cut out that side window area. I picked a piece of patterned paper and glued it on to the card panel behind the circle window. I then trimmed down my sky/ground scene with a die from My Favorite Things and mounted it with fun foam and glued it on to a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card base. I then glued my imag

Hello there, friends!   It's Kimberly Rendino here today guesting on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink. blog.  I'm so happy to be here, and I've got a bright and cheerful birthday card to share with you today!    I've used the Stacked Edges 1 dies from Pretty Pink Posh to create the fun chevron background.  After I had all of the pieces adhered to my black card base, I was hesitant to cover too much of it up - I just love that color combination!  To solve that dilemma, I kept the stamping design on a 2 3/4 strip of paper.  For this, I used the adorable turtle from the Sunny Studio stamp set Turtley Awesome .   First I stamped the party hat and then used masking paper to mask it off.   Next I stamped the turtle.   When removing the mask, it looks like the hat fits on the turtle's head perfectly.   I colored this with Copics and fussy cut it out.   I stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black  ink.   I added a bit of color behind where I wanted  to place the

The project I have to share with you features the ever popular Concord & 9th Lovely Blossoms Turnabout and dies . Concord & 9th has released several variations on their cleverly designed Turnabouts. The Oh, Hello , Dotty , Dahlia and now the Lovely Blossoms are among my favorites. They are a simple concept. One stamp, when rotated 90* for each impression, creates a background filled with goodness. Choose to stamp 1 - 4 times with the same or different colors. The combinations are endless! The hardest part? Getting the stamp set lined up correctly. I've gotcha covered! The Turnabouts each come with a preprinted template. Happy Saturday crafty friends! Kim with you this morning sharing this Waffle Flower card! All of these products are available in the store and linked below! I was so anxious to break out my Little Painters Stamps and die set, I chose my images to work with the MFT Die-Namics Colage Cover Up Frame  I used Oxide Inks in rainbow order for my background then sprayed it with my Distress Sprayer for texture. I stamped and colored my images with my Copics and used the accompanying dies. I planned out my layout and then stamped my sentiment then used some foam tape for my images. I finished off my project with some Studio Katia bubbles and some white gel pen for detail! Thanks for taking the time! Kim 

Hey everyone! Kelli here again sharing this card I made with Newton's Nook stamps that are so adorable! For this card, I used Newton's Nook Summer Scoops Stamp Set . For the circles on the background I used Avery Elle Circle Frame Dies . I colored up the images with Copics and added some Tim Holtz Distress Inks on the circles to make them pop a little! I also added some Wink of Stella Shimmer Marker to the images to give them a little more dimension! I just love the way this turned out! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Good morning everyone, Amy Copeland here with another birthday card for you.  I get the most use out of birthday cards and thank you cards, so that's what I tend to create the most.  I started my card by stamping the critters, paws, and accessories from Avery Elle's *adorable* stamp set called Peek-A-Boo Pals  onto smooth white cardstock with Copic-Safe  ink and colored them in with my Copic Markers.  I used the Coordinating Dies  to cut them out, then set them aside to work on my background elements.  I used another piece of smooth white cardstock and covered the entire panel with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide  ink using my Mini Ink Blending Tool , then used the MFT Stamps Cloud Stencil  and lightly blended Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide  over the stencil.  I spritzed some clean water on top of my cloud panel with a Mini Mister , then blotted dry with a paper towel.   Next, I used a piece of light gray (greige?) cardstock from my stash and lightly pounced Old Paper Distr

Hello Butterfly Reflection Inkers! Lindsay Lajola here on the blog today with a fun new stamp set in the latest release from  Hello Bluebird . The stamp set I'm using is called  Moose and Friends  and I also used the  coordinating die cuts  to cut out my images.  I stamped all of my images using my  Mini MISTI  with  Memento Tuxedo Black  ink, which is copic marker safe. When I first get a new stamp set, I like to stamp all the images and color them all, just to get a feel for all the stamp set has to offer. Today, I used almost all of the images on this card, because they're all just so cute I couldn't leave anyone out! I decided to color the "Hooray" balloons in rainbow order using my stash of  copic markers  and added some  Glossy Accents  over the letters with a precision tip  to make them look more three dimensional. Hey friends....It's Heather here to share another 12 x 12 scrapbook layout with you... I am using Simple Stories Hello Summer collection and pictures of my daughter and nephew from years ago..they were enjoying some fruit juice after a dip in the pool....they are so cute at that age!!   I started with a piece of yellow cardstock from my stash and really wanted to use the square stickers in the 8-page sticker pack .  They seem like they are meant for planners, but I won't use them in that way so I needed to come up with a way to use them on a scrapbook layout.  I am a huge fan of grid style layouts and they are a great way to use lots of patterned papers on one project!  And in this case, I could layer the square planner stickers on most of the paper squares.     I trimmed 2 x 2 pieces from the 6 x 8 paper pad and cut my 4 x 6 photo down to (2) 2 x 4 photos. Happy Monday lovelies and welcome to my next post, it's Mona here! Today I am showing you an interactive card with the Lawn Fawn Donut Worry Stamp Set . I hope you will enjoy it. For the card I chose a paper from Gotta Have Gingham 6x6 Paper Pad and cut to size a white cardstock. I blended the gingham paper with Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink and Mini Ink Blending Tool .  I made a Die Cut with the second smallest die from the Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frames Lawn Cuts and glued it to the Pink Paper what I made with the Spun Sugar Distress Oxide ink. Then I run it trough my Die Cut Machine with the Slide on Over Lawn Cuts and made the interactive sliders. I stamped the donut images and colored with Copic Markers and stamped the sentiments to the card base. I glued the donuts to euro cents for the rolling effect and placed them to the card. Hi everyone!! Laurie here and I'm so excited to be a guest on the BRI Blog today!! Quick question..if you have a popped up sentiment on an otherwise one layer card, is it still considered one layer???  I've never made a one layer anything in my life so I hope this card counts! :) I started by stamping the large, gorgeous floral image from the Mama Elephant Botanic Hello Stamp Set  onto kraft cardstock. I used an alcohol ink friendly ink in a fairly light shade. In this case Flannel Grey Memento Ink. I used my Mini Misti  for this because I wanted to heat emboss the image after it was coloured. I've heard both opinions. Embossing powder does not hurt your Copic markers and also, embossing powder can ruin your marker nibs. I played it safe and embossed after. I used shades of pink, purple and green. It's a good idea to test out your shades on scrap kraft because obviously the colours are going to look much different than on white!  I LOVE this look!! Y

Happy Saturday! Alix here showing you an adorable card I made for today. I feel great to be back as a blog guest. I hope you will have great time with me as I going through a few steps to make this card. I started off Copic coloring all stamped images from  Pretty Pink Posh Birdie Sea Friends Stamp set . Once they are colored and you could use coordinating dies to cut them out or hand fussy cut like I did. To create the background, I used 1.5 wide watercolor brush applying two shades of watercolor paints in blue onto a piece of  Tim Holtz Distress watercolor paper. To create the shaker window, I cut the panel using  Lawn Fawn Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Die  out of a piece of Woodgrain Cardstock paper .  then I used  Lawn Fawn Large stitched Rectangle Die  to cut the inner window.  I glued a piece of acetate paper underneath. Before I close up the window, I poured some  Pretty Pink Posh 3mm Sparkling clear sequins  and Jewels in  Aquamarine  onto the background. I attached

Hey everyone! Kelli here sharing a card I made using Waffle Flower Stamps! The dimensions for this card are 4" x 9" and I think I'm getting really hooked on this card size! The stamped images are from the Waffle Flower Across the Miles Stamp Set . For the clouds, I used the MFT Mini Cloud Edges and  Distress Oxides Ink Pad in Broken China . The "Birthday Wishes" sentiment is from Mama Elephant Scripty Bday Stamp Set . I had to cut the two words apart so they would bend a little more around the hot air balloon. Good morning, everyone, Amy Copeland here with a clean-and-simple birthday card featuring mostly products from MFT Stamps.  I started out by stamping the animals from Safari Friends  onto smooth white cardstock with Copic-Friendly Black Ink .  I colored them in using my Copic Markers and then used the Coordinating Dies  to cut them out with my die-cutting machine.  For a simple embellishment, I used my Glaze pen on all of the eyes to make them pop a bit.  It's really subtle, but you can see it in real life. I moved on to the background, which was so simple.  I cut an A2-sized (5 1/2" x 4 1/4") panel out of Moonstone  cardstock from Lawn Fawn, then an A2-sized panel out of Noble Fir.   I used one of the Grassy Fields dies to cut my green piece down to size.  I used my MISTI to line up the sentiment in the top right corner, then stamped it twice with the same Memento ink to get a solid, crisp impression. Hi all! Lindsay Lajola here on the blog today. I recently purchased some Catherine Pooler  Inks from the Butterfly Reflections, Ink store and I couldn't be more excited about them. I ordered the colors from the Spa Collection: Zen Garden and used them on these cards today. I loved them so much that I just placed another order for the Party Collection: Life of the Party ink pads as well. Vanessa has all of them in her store along with all of the refills so you're all set! I also ordered a bunch of geometric stamps from  The Stamp Market  in order to make colorful, structured backgrounds. For this card I used  Patterned Polka Dot Stamp Set  from The Stamp Market along with  Shea Butter CP Ink ,  Seafoam CP Ink , and  Midnight CP Ink . I stamped the circles overlapping and flowing from one corner diagonally to the other corner and added in the "X" stamps for some additional interest. The inks stamp really nicely, even with solid images and cleaning off the stamp
