Hippo Hooray!

Hi crafty friends! It's Jenn and I'm excited to be back on the BRI blog with a Clearly Besotted card for you! Did you know that BRI is one of only two US based retailers that carries Clearly Besotted ? I just love their cute sets, especially these chonky hippos from the Hippo Bird Day set ! For today's card, I wanted to try my hand at no line coloring. I used Ink on 3 Fadeout Ink ( Lawn Fawn jelly fish ink is similar) to stamp out my images and colored them with Copic markers. I am NOT an expert in no line coloring (this was my 2nd time trying this technique). Fortunately, after coloring my images, my kids recognized my efforts and said "is this no line coloring?" and could tell they were hippos and birds, hahaha! I'll count that as a win LOL 😂  I used Lawn Fawn Center Picture Window dies and ink blended and splattered the background with a cloudy stencil and Distress Oxide ink ( tumbled glass , broken china ). For the grass, I used Distress Oxide inks (

😖 Sorry I Was A Prick 🌵

Hello Crafty Friends! Happy Friday! Today is bitter sweet because I’m back on the blog but it’s my final post as a Design Team Member for the term. Today’s inspiration card combines 2 of my favorite brands Mama Elephant and Lawn Fawn!        I love plants 🪴 so much! But unlike my mother who has the greenest thumb on the planet, I cannot say the same for myself! That is why I LOVE Succulents! They are so easy to care for and even if neglected are difficult to kill. Lol! 😄 So, to my happy surprise, when Lawn Fawn recently came out with their  Plant- a - Succulent Dies  , I flipped!!! Paper succulents!!! YESSS 🙌👏🙌 I love the idea of being able to build a collection of mini paper succulents in teeny tiny pots with the cutest facial expressions! i love Mama Elephant’s Newest stamp set  It's Okay   so so much that I am using it again for this week’s card.       To create this card, I used  Lawn Fawn Large Stiched Stackables Dies  to cut out my base and pattern papers. I used  My Fav

Sending Hugs Card by Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here with my last card for this DT term. These past three months have been amazing! Thank you so much Vanessa for inviting me to the team and a big hug to Samantha for helping me post my texts to the blog. You ladies are the best!! Today I share a sweet celebration card, featuring the adorable koala’s from Mama Elephant’s Koala Hugs and Little Koala Agenda . These two sets work so well together! The cute little ones are planning a party to surprise the sleeping koala! I started by cutting a green panel from the MFT Petite Gingham Paper Pad . Next I die cut three shakers windows in the top part of the panel using the Honey Bee Stamps Sentiment Banners dies and adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the panel. I filled up the shakers with some clear and star embellishments from my stash before closing them with a piece of scalloped white card stock. After stamping all my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I used my Copic markers fo

Sorry I Missed Your Birthday

Hi everyone! It's Cassie here from Creatively Cass, and I'm back today to share my last card with you all. Today's my last post for the BRI design team! I've had such a fun time being back on the blog and sharing my cards with everyone. I appreciate the last couple months of crafting for Butterfly Reflections Ink so much! Alright... let's get to the card :)  I started today's card by die cutting a kraft cardstock A2 size card panel using a stitched rectangle die like this MFT one . Then I die cut a stitched star from the middle like the Outside In Stitched Star dies from Lawn Fawn . I ink blended all over an A2 size panel using Salvaged Patina , Saltwater Taffy , Kitsch Flamingo and Black Soot . I added lots of splatter in all colors to make it look like a galaxy.  I stamped and colored in the cute little planet from the Year Eleven stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I stamped the little stars all over the kraft cardstock as well. I adhered the pieces together and ad

Big Thanks card by Gladys

Hello friends, I hope you are doing well! I can't believe it's the last week of April already, time sure flies, doesn't it? Gladys here and I have one more card to share before my term ends. I hope you will like it and find some inspiration. Let's get started shall we! I created a cute and colorful slimline card using lots of dies from Lawn Fawn. I began by die cutting the plants and pots from  Plant A Succulent out of colored cardstock. To add more depth I like to inked the edges of the cardstock using distress oxide inks. I must worn you there are LOTS of ink blending on this card so if you don't like this technique you can skip it and do whatever makes you happy!  Since some of the die cuts are small I found it helpful to use the shader brush from Waffle Flowers. For the green I used mowed lawn and lucky clover. For the purple I used seedless preserves, pink I used picked raspberry. For the blue I used peacock feathers and prize ribbon. For the pots I used ru

You Are Beautiful with Altenew!

Hello friends and welcome back!!! It's Laurie with you today for a guest designer post and I'm so exited to be here! I've paired a couple of Altenew products, one older and one newer. Like all of us, I LOVE getting new products but I also love to use the older stuff in my stash. And both these products are in stock in the shop! It's been awhile since I've made a shaped card, so that's exactly what I did!  I started by cutting all the florals and leaves from the Painted Blooms Die Set from different shades of cardstock. These flowers are very simple to put together! After everything was cut and adhered together, I came up with an arrangement on my circular, white card panel. I die cut 2 larger circles from kraft cardstock. I scored about 3/4" from the top of one of the circles to create a flap. I put double sided tape on the flap, lined up the 2 circles and adhered together. This created the card base. After adhering the focal panel to the card base, it was

It’s Okay Not to Be Ok

Hello Crafty folks. It’s Marie with a card using the new stamp set and Grid Planter Die from Mama Elephant’s newest April 2022 Release . This stamp set, with its adorable melancholy critters and encouraging sentiments allows you to create sweet and empathetic cards to show your support for the people in your life that are maybe going through some tough times. I know I can absolutely relate to this set so much right now.  For my card today, I created a bookcase scene using the new  Grid Planter Die  and  "It's Okay" Stamp Set   as well as its  creative cuts (coordinating dies).   I started my card by cutting the card base using  A2 Layers Dies  from a sturdy 110lb cardstock as well as  pattern paper    From my favorite things. I then cut my bookcase from the  grid planter die   and ink blended it with  Milk Chocolate Premium Dye Ink  from My Favorite Things.  I did some no line watercoloring with all my adorable images using some  Derwent Intense Pencils  . I then glued my

LittleMonkeys Love Banana Milkshake!

Hello everyone another week!! Don't you think the days go by too fast? I am delighted to continue showing my cards, which I hope you like and inspire! To start shaping the card I used the  Slim Stitched Rectangle  die from Pinkfresh Studio, to color the background, I have always used Distress Oxide inks, the colors: Squeezed Lemonade , Scattered Straw an d Cracked Pistachio . To finish the background, we add splashes of water, splashes of Perfect Pearls Gold and splashes of   Perfect Pearls White . I have used two set stamps of Mama Elephant,  Everyday Monkeys  and  Boba Tea  to create this monkey scene with their delicious banana milkshake!  I forgot! Also adds a balloon from the set  Party Animals ! To make the feeling I used the small letters  Bitty Banner Alphabet dies of My Favorite Things, the word "Love" on set  Up With Love  and the word "Milkshake" from the Milkshake set, also by Mama Elephant! I stamp all my stamps with the ink  Memento Black ,

New Baby Card by Tina

Hello friends, Tina here! This time I have a sweet baby card for you, using the adorable bear from the Mama Elephant Up With Love stamp set.   After stamping this cutie onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I used my Copic markers for the coloring (B12, B34, E41, E43, E44, E47, E49). Next I die cut two star shapes , one from patterned paper from my stash and the other one from vellum . Before I die cut the vellum I added some double sided adhesive to the back of the sheet for easy assembling later on. To finish the design I also needed to die cut a circle from white Card Stock and three small clouds which I coloured with copics as well. For the base panel I cut the Lawn Fawn Sunburst Backdrop die from a sheet of yellow Card Stock. To create more dimension, I inked up the edges of the panel with Distress Oxide Scattered Straw ink . For some extra sparkle I added splatters of shimmer spray with a small paint brush. I used my Misti to stamp a Clearly Besotted sentim

You Make Me The Happiest Card

Hi everybody! It's Cassie here and I'm back with another card to share with you. Today's card is simple and adorable. Let's jump right in. I started by doing some ink blending on an A2 card base. Using the Heffy Doodle stencil Crosswalk and some Speckled Egg Distress Oxide ink. Then I die cut the Postage Frame die from Mama Elephant and put that on the card front with foam tape. I also splattered some Fired Brick Distress Oxide with Tattered Rose ink over the front for some additional color.  Next I stamped out the cute little dog from the Frenchie stamp set by Avery Elle . I love these cute little pups. I added some cute little white gel pen accents and added this with foam tape as well. The last thing to do was add my sentiment. I know I used it last week, but I couldn't help but use the Stylish Sentiments stamp set from My Favorite Things again. I heat embossed white embossing powder on kraft cardstock and adhered it to my card. And that was it for my card!

Rain or Shine Day card by Gladys

Hello crafty friends! Gladys here with a fun and cute card using the Beary Rainy Day stamp set from Lawn Fawn.  I started by stamping the images on 110lb cardstock using milk chocolate ink . I used Copic markers to color them and cut them out with their coordinating dies . The small umbrellas the baby bears are holding are from the Elphie Selfie stamp set.  For the panel I used Mama Elephant Hexastar dies to cut from Bristol smooth cardstock. I ink blended the background using distress oxide inks in wilted violet , shaded lilac and salvaged patina . I added interest by adding water droplets using a small paint brush. I also diluted wilted violet to add the speckles of small paint drops.  Once the panel was dry I adhered the images with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape. I white heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock. Then I backed the panel on a rainbow pattern paper to give a nice border. For final touch I used a white gel pen to add some highlights. I also use

Happy Easter in Bunnyville!

Hi crafty friends! Happy Easter! Peggy here with, of course, an Easter card!  I am so excited to show you my first project with Sunny Studio Stamps . Today I'm crafting with two stamp sets from the 2022 Spring Release, the adorable Bunnyville  and Little Birdie ! Let's get started! I started by cutting a panel from some white cardstock and ink blended with Lawn Fawn's Plaid Stencil with Spun Sugar ,  Kitsch Flamingo and Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide inks. I wanted to make the sentiment from the Bunnyville stamp set the star of the show. Therefore, I stamped the sentiment from the Bunnyville stamp set in brown pigment ink in the middle of the panel. I used a layer of Versamark Embossing Ink over top and heat embossed with clear powder. Next, I covered the sentiment with a piece of paper and added gold metallic watercolor paint splatters to my panel. I used two stitched nested oval dies to create a white frame to put around my heat embossed sentiment. I adhered the fram

April Mood Board Inspiration - Mermaid Party

Hello crafty friends! Tammy here with a fun box card inspired by the April #brimoodboard. This color palette is just perfect for Spring or Summer projects, featuring colors that coordinate with some of my favorite Distress Oxide inks; Saltwater Taffy, Wild Honey, Tumbled Glass, and Peacock Feathers.  For my project, I was inspired to create a fun, bright, and summery themed card featuring my favorite mermaids from Mermaid for You   from Lawn Fawn.  To begin, I stamped, colored with Copic markers, and die cut images from the following sets: Mermaid for You / Coordinating Dies Mermaid for You Flip-Flop / Coordinating Dies Scootin' By / Coordinating Dies  (balloons) Ocean Shell-Fie / Coordinating Dies  (jellyfish, fish) You Are Sublime / Coordinating Dies  (coral, seaweed) Elphie Selfie / Coordinating Dies  (cake) Really High Five / Coordinating Dies  (party hats) To begin, I cut my box from Peacock cardstock  using the MFT Mini Slimline Outside the Box Level Up Die and assembled it.
