Have a Magical Birthday!

Hi everyone!  I'm sharing this May mood board inspired card featuring stamps from Hello Blue Bird Stamps.  The deep blue sky is paired with a teal background with stenciling to create a magical scene!   To start, I used the slimline dies from Trinity stamps to cut the background panel from Bristol smooth cardstock.   Distress oxide inks in black soot , chipped sapphire and peacock feathers used to create the sky.   Tropical background stencil added to the bottom of card to add interest.  The panel was splattered with liquid stardust , white paint and water to create the night sky. Images from fairy garden stamped using Versafine Clair ink in nocturne on Bristol cardstock.  The images were colored using zig clean color brush markers.  White gel pen added for details. Images were cut using coordinating dies and adhered to the background.   Magical die cut from white cardstock three times and stacked to create a 3D...

Sweet Christmas!

Hi Everyone!  Can you believe November is already here?  The holidays will be here soon, and before you know it, we will be in the new year!  I'm going to be sharing some holiday cards with you all this month and in the month of December. Today, I have a colorful holiday card featuring an adorable gingerbread family.  I also added some fun details to make the card extra special! To start, using a standard A2 card base cut from Bristol smooth cardstock, I ink blended the following  distress oxide colors (top to bottom): mermaid lagoon and seedless preserves . On the side I mixed Liquitex gloss super heavy gel and white acrylic paint to create a thick white paste.  I applied the paste to the bottom of the ink blended card base using a spatula and let it dry overnight.  I love how the paste looks like frosting when dry! Then using a separate piece of white cardstock, I cut out the border using fancy scalloped rectangle stackables and adhered...

Unicorns & Rainbows

Hello there, friends! It's Christy from Christy Gets Crafty here today with a cute card featuring  My Favorite Things Fairy-tale Friends . These unicorns and rainbows are so much fun to color! And to make things even sweeter, I added in a few cupcakes from  Birdie Brown's Birth-Yay . After I stamped and colored all my images with Copic markers , I trimmed them out with the  matching dies.  Then I die-cut two cloud panels using  Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Borders . I glued the back one down flat to the card base with liquid glue, then stamped my sentiment on the front panel with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice ink and popped it up with foam tape . I adhered my images with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape, then stamped out the little sparkle marks from A Little Sparkle in Forget-Me-Not and Moonstone ink . As a finishing touch, I dabbed on a bit of Crystal Stickles to my unicorns horn and wings, the rainbow, and cupcake liners to  bring some...

Hello My Lovely Friend - Resin

Happy Tuesday everyone! Danielle here up on the BRI blog with a super fun and easy card featuring Concord & 9th Banners & Bloom and Lawn Fawn Fancy Folded Banners  die using resin.  This was so much fun and so easy! I started off with die cutting a piece of pink shimmer cardstock and Lawn Fawn Sparkle Pixie Dust card stock (which is my fave glitter cardstock) using Lawn Fawn's Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables Die.  I adhered both panels to my card base using Mono permanent tape adhesive .  For my main panel I used a piece of Alcohol ink Yupo white paper and just loosely colored diagonally with various copic markers.  I wanted to try something a little different so I mixed some resin together and added some Lawn Fawn chunky glitter  and glitter flakes to my resin mixture (when the resin has completely dried it will give the effect of the glitter "floating").  What I like about resin is that it creates a "glass" effect.  It's th...

Hip Hip Hooray!

Hello Friends.... I made this card with my new and so adorable Big Top Birthday set from Neat and Tangled,  for any cheerful occasion!!!   CARD DETAILS: For today's project I used Oxide inks in colors  Spiced Marmalade  and  Fossilized Amber .  To create the lines I used  Stamping Mask Paper  and alternate the colors of Oxide Inks, every time I finish a line I used my  Heat Tool  to dry the lines and avoid any smearing. I wanted to add a little sparkle, for that I die cut the little stars that come with the Lawn Fawn  Scalloped Box Card Pop Up  from  Glitter Paper .   I added two strips of paper I inked with Lawn Fawn Merman  color and glue five stars to each one.  I used markers to color all the images and finish with  Wink of Stella  of course for more sparkle. Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Remember there are still lots of great products in the  STAM...

You Had Me at Hello

Hello, friends! It's Janette here back at the helm. I'm popping in today to share a new favorite....  This is the My Favorite Things Wavy Coloring Book Background . If you find that it is sold out (so popular!), be sure to click the link to add your name to the waiting list. It is so worth it. It is super versatile and will have a home in my collection for a ridiculously long time. Paired with the coloring background are MFT dies Hello There and Bold Greenery . Hello was cut from a scrap of gold foiled paper and the sprigs of greenery from vellum. I then coated the greenery with Copic Opaque White . It is a matte white fluid - almost like liquid White-Out. All that yummy glimmer (which is much more shimmery in person)? Yes, that would be from the Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pen . After stamping the background pattern with Versamark and embossing with white detail powder , I colored in the image with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers . I laid the color near...

Mother's Day Dahlias

Good morning!   Jess  here with a cheery watercolored Mother's Day card using the new Beautiful Bouquet: Dahlia stamp from WPlus9 and Mom+Me sentiments from Lawn Fawn! I started off by using my Mini Misti to stamp the Dahlia Bouquet twice on a piece of watercolor paper with versamark .  I offset it both times and used a larger section of the stamp for one side to give it more visual interest.  I heat-embossed it with Gold Tinsel embossing glitter and then it was time to color!  I used six Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a waterbrush to color the flowers.  The larger flower is colored with Carmine Red and the smaller flowers are colored with a mix of Carmine Red and Dark Pink.  The larger leaves are colored with Green, the smaller leaves with May Green, and the background with very watered down Cobalt Blue.  For the leaves and flowers, I added pigment to the paper and blended it out with a waterbrush .  For the background I ...

Sparkle Pen Floral & Giveaway!

Hello friends! Thank you for taking some time out of your day to visit the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog. We are so happy you are here! I am Janette , and today I bring you a card that features the newly released Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens . They do indeed sparkle, they are scrumptious! Raise your hand if you are all about the adult coloring book craze currently sweeping the nation? My hand is sky high and I believe instead of letting those colored pages hide inside a book, we should give them life. All that glitz is hard to capture on film or rather, in pixels, so I've included several shots. Rest assured, it is spectacular!    This flower is from the Tula Pink coloring book. I began by copying it onto a heavy weight card stock. Often the paper found in color books is not suitable for wet mediums, so if you favor one of those techniques, I highly recommend you copy the design onto paper that is. Next, I used the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens in Pink Garnet an...
