Sending Hugs Card by Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here with my last card for this DT term. These past three months have been amazing! Thank you so much Vanessa for inviting me to the team and a big hug to Samantha for helping me post my texts to the blog. You ladies are the best!! Today I share a sweet celebration card, featuring the adorable koala’s from Mama Elephant’s Koala Hugs and Little Koala Agenda . These two sets work so well together! The cute little ones are planning a party to surprise the sleeping koala! I started by cutting a green panel from the MFT Petite Gingham Paper Pad . Next I die cut three shakers windows in the top part of the panel using the Honey Bee Stamps Sentiment Banners dies and adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the panel. I filled up the shakers with some clear and star embellishments from my stash before closing them with a piece of scalloped white card stock. After stamping all my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I used my Copic markers fo...

New Baby Card by Tina

Hello friends, Tina here! This time I have a sweet baby card for you, using the adorable bear from the Mama Elephant Up With Love stamp set.   After stamping this cutie onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I used my Copic markers for the coloring (B12, B34, E41, E43, E44, E47, E49). Next I die cut two star shapes , one from patterned paper from my stash and the other one from vellum . Before I die cut the vellum I added some double sided adhesive to the back of the sheet for easy assembling later on. To finish the design I also needed to die cut a circle from white Card Stock and three small clouds which I coloured with copics as well. For the base panel I cut the Lawn Fawn Sunburst Backdrop die from a sheet of yellow Card Stock. To create more dimension, I inked up the edges of the panel with Distress Oxide Scattered Straw ink . For some extra sparkle I added splatters of shimmer spray with a small paint brush. I used my Misti to stamp a Clearly Besotted se...

Oh Gnome

Hello crafty friends and happy Saturday!  I hope you all have fun things planned for the weekend ahead.  This is Crystal Komara here, one of the "old," though I much prefer the term original ; )  DT members for Butterfly Reflections, Ink!   I'm always happy to come back and share with you what I'm creating.   Today I have a slimline card featuring all of the fun  Oh Gnome  characters from Lawn Fawn .  I know, I know, it's not part of the super cool new Lawn Fawn release , but I have been working really hard at using some of the many, many stamps that I own that haven't been used and this set is one of them.  Plus, it's always great to see some of the old things become new again!  This Lawn Fawn Mushroom House is still one of my favorites.  I've been dying to make a Smurf themed card using this fun die set too!! Card Details:  This base of this slimline card (8 1/2" x 3 1/2") was made from Neenah Solar White ...

Cute Felt Tags by Tina

Hello crafty friends, it’s Tina with a collection of colorful ‘felt tag cards’. I couldn’t resist the cute critters from the Pretty Pink Posh Love Balloons set! This year I really want to try and use more products from my stash. I have a whole box with felt so instead of using the balloons from the set I created some die cut felt embellishments (flowers and bows) and I backed the tags with a layer of felt. Let’s get started with stamping the cute critters from the set onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. For the coloring I used my trusty Copic markers. Copics used Rabbit         T1, T3, T5, R20 Beaver        E41, E43, E44, E47, E49, R20 Skunk        T1, T3, T5, T7, R20 Squirrel    E41, E43, E44, E47, R20 Next, I die cut the tag from the Pretty Pink Posh Birthday Circles Coordinating dies four times. I glued these tags to pieces of felt in bright colors. For the flo...

Critter Birthday Card!

Hi everyone, Ashley here and I'm excited to be back on the Butterfly Reflections, Ink blog to share a card with you!  My husband celebrated his birthday recently, and I wanted to make him a card with some personalization specific to him. So, I used lots of Lawn Fawn supplies to make a card featuring our three pets! I started by watercolouring the background piece using Distress Oxide inks in Chipped Sapphire , Prize Ribbon , Broken China and Tumbled Glass . I smooshed some ink from each pad onto my work surface and sprayed them with water, and then just pressed the cardstock into the wet ink. I dried the panel using my heat tool, and then repeated this a few more times to get layers of colour. Ink smooshing is one of my favorite tried-and-true techniques for getting an easy watercoloured background! Next I did some die-cutting: first, I die-cut a piece of kraft cardstock (I used Neenah Desert Storm) with the Lawn Fawn Fall Leaves Backdrop die . I brushed some Vintage Photo ...

Fall Friendship Card b y Sara Zoppi

Hi BRI friends, Sara here! I am back with a new card, inspired by the September BRI Mood Board Challenge . This color palette is incredible and it is perfect for fall cards. I love the warm tones, I love all of them together! And this is my inspiration! I’ve recently bought some Pretty Pink Posh stamps and dies and this was the perfect occasion to use them. I look in my stash and I found this Pumpkin Patch Critters stamp set : I instantly thought to use the palette to color all the pumpkins. I stamped all of the images on a piece of copic friendly paper using Memento TuxedoBlack ink . The little fox belongs to the Winter Woodland stamp set while the greenery is from the AutumnWreath one . I colored everything with copic and at the end I fussy cut all of them since I hadn’t coordinating dies. I then started working on the background. On a piece of watercolor paper , I ink blended Distress Oxides in W...

LET'S PARTY!

Hi BRI friends, Laura here! You know that I love to use the dies in an alternative way! When I've  picked up this die  FOREST BACKDROP  by turning it, I've immediately  thought that it could  look like a bowl of water.    I've cut paper and I've cut a white cardstok and I've blended with  distress oxide BROKEN CHINA and SALVAGED PATINA I've stamped sentiment with  embossing pad and I've used  the power white for embossing. I've colored with copic markers this set MERMAID for YOU  and created the details with acrylic paint and  white gel pen.   I hope you enjoyed my card and remember to look at things from different perspectives! Happy creative week end! Laura

Finally seaside!

Hello my dear friends, it's Veronica here! I'm finally on holiday, so I prepared a proper card for the occasion. This card feature some adorable critters by Hello Bluebird, Copic colored as always. To create the background I blended a bunch of Distress Oxide Inks on a piece of Neenah Solar White Paper: Antique Linen and Tea Dye for the sand, Peacock Feathers , Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch for the sea and Squeezed Lemonade , Carved Pumpkin and Festive Berries for the sky. I die cut the rectangular panel with a slimline die by Mama Elephant. To finish off my card I stuck the critters on the background with some foam and added a sentiment from the same stamp set. I finally matted my panel twice: onto a white and a blue piece of card stock.

Big Birthday Wishes Slimline Card

Hi BRI friends, Sara here! I am back with a new card, inspired by the July BRI Mood Board Challenge .   I really love this color palette, I think this is one of my favorite so far! So, this is my inspiration!    This time, I started with the background. I wasn’t sure how to make my scene, I didn’t know what stamp to use, but I wanted to play with Ranger alcohol ink . I have a “love and hate” relationship with this medium, because I really love the result but I am afraid of the process because you cannot control it LOL. But I thought it was the perfect time to try them! So I took out three colors that matched the Mood Board: Poppy Field, Peach Bellini and Wild Plum. I used Yupo Paper and I started applying some blending solution and some drops of color. I knew I wanted to make a slimline, but I started with a bigger sheet, so I could decide what section I like more. I also knew I wanted to leave a large white space, so I put ink only on one corner. When I got the result ...

Rawrsome Birthday Card by Sara

Hi BRI friends, Sara here! I am back with a new card, inspired by the May BRI Mood Board Challenge . I’ve fallen in love with this color palette since I saw it and this is my inspiration! I’ve used a bunch of Mama Elephant products and I really love how it turned out. Those dinos are simply the cutest! I haven't had the chance to play with “ Me and My Dinosaur ” and the “ Little Dino Agenda ” since now, so I thought it could have been the perfect occasion. This time I didn’t want to make a one layer card, so I stamped all the dinos on a piece of copic friendly paper and I hand drew the background on an 3,75”x5,5” panel of the same cardstock. I used the mood board of the month , including linen, teal, fuchsia and coral, and I tried to use lighter colors for the background. When I finished to color the dinos, I fussy cut them (well, if you have coordinating dies it is surely faster!) and arranged them on my scene. I realized that they didn’t pop against the background which was a ...

Happy wedding day card with Annemarijn

Hi! My name is Annemarijn, 26 years old and living the happy life in Amsterdam with my boyfriend and our two cats. I’m beyond excited because this is my first Design Team post for this blog and I made a very cute card for you today. As inspiration I used the mood board colors from this month. I love how bright and colorful this moodboard is so I had to use it. The card I made is a happy wedding day card with cute lawn fawn stuff. Because one of my crafty friends is getting married tomorrow. I’m going to tell you how I made the card.  First I stamped the veil and the hat from bicycle built for you with memento tuxedo black ink and then I masked them and stamped the mermaid and merman from mermaid for you on top of it. I removed the mask and stamped the other images. I also stamped some coral from mermaid for you with distress oxide abandoned coral . Then I cut the images and I colored everything with copic markers . For the mermaid I used some quickie glue pen and dipped her in ...

May BRI Moodboard inspiration with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with some BRIMoodboard color inspiration. The jewel tone colors of the May Moodboard are so easy to implement into your projects, and don’t have to necessarily be super bold. This month the colors are Linen, Teal, Fuchsia, and Coral. I wanted to create a softer slimline card using some Mama Elephants products, and I love the results. I started by cutting my layers using Mama Elephant  Slim Cut Basics . I cut the scalloped layer from a soft creamy cardstock, then gently inked some Antique linen on the edges to darken it up a bit. I had some pattern paper in my stash that I feel really captures the Moodboard colors, and uses many different values of the same few colors. I cut the stitched layer from the paper as well as two windows from the upper portion. I also but some Bristol smooth cardstock with the same die, for my sky inking. I ink blended several colors of Distress Oxides onto my white Bristol smooth paper, making sure to create a darke...
