Christmas Shaker Card with Mama Elephant

Hello crafty friends! Today I am sharing a cute and simple holiday shaker card! This little card was pretty quick to put together and my favorite part of the card is the felt bow! Bows always make everything cuter! To make the shaker, I die cut several of the hexatag snowdrift frames and stacked them together. I prefer the cardstock stacking method for shaker frames because you can customize the depth of your shaker well this way. I ink blended a quick background on the solid hexagon piece and glued on the vellum trees. After gluing the shaker well onto the hexagon background, I used my powder tool to remove any stickiness and static. I added the shaker bits, acetate, and finally the top frame. Don't forget to stamp your sentiment on before assembling the shaker!  There is a snowflake on the reindeer's sign... if you squint you can see it😆! (In real life, you can definitely see it...) You can put all sorts of things in the signs. I think the Mama Elephant set Holiday Bitties...

Shrinky Dinks Ocean Shaker Card

Hi crafty friends! I have become a bit obsessed with making shrinky dink shaker bits for shaker cards! For today's card, I used some Clearly Besotted stamp sets from the July release. The colors are inspired by the August BRI mood board and are perfect for my underwater scene!  I colored with Copic markers and fussy cut all the images, then added Nuvo drops all over the swimming cat's helmet to give it shine. To create the background, I did some ink smooshing with Distress inks on watercolor paper. It was a lot of fun and I can't believe I don't ink smoosh more often!  Now for the super fun part, shrinky dinks! If you would like a quick tutorial on making shrinky dink shaker bits, check out this video I made for a different shrinky dink shaker card (I used the same technique for this card). And here is the non-video explanation: I used "frosted" or pre-sanded shrinky dink plastic and stamped the images on the sanded side. (For the shells, I masked off the ...

Sending Hugs Card by Tina

Hi crafty friends, Tina here with my last card for this DT term. These past three months have been amazing! Thank you so much Vanessa for inviting me to the team and a big hug to Samantha for helping me post my texts to the blog. You ladies are the best!! Today I share a sweet celebration card, featuring the adorable koala’s from Mama Elephant’s Koala Hugs and Little Koala Agenda . These two sets work so well together! The cute little ones are planning a party to surprise the sleeping koala! I started by cutting a green panel from the MFT Petite Gingham Paper Pad . Next I die cut three shakers windows in the top part of the panel using the Honey Bee Stamps Sentiment Banners dies and adhered a piece of acetate to the back of the panel. I filled up the shakers with some clear and star embellishments from my stash before closing them with a piece of scalloped white card stock. After stamping all my images onto a sheet of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I used my Copic markers fo...

Spring floral shaker card by Gladys

Spring is definitely in the air (at least where I live) and I'm celebrating with this beautiful floral shaker card!  When I saw the   Spring Flowers backdrop   from Lawn Fawn I knew I had to have it. I have been loving all the unique die cuts that many crafting companies are coming up with and I find die cutting to be very relaxing.  To begin, I ink blended an A2 size panel cut from Bristol smooth cardstock. I used tattered rose and the new saltwater taffy distress oxide ink. I love this new ink, it's a lovely peach color and perfect for Spring. Next I used the Spring Flowers backdrop to cut twice from green cardstock. Whenever I work with intricate dies I like to stack a couple cardstock for stability. I inked the edges using lucky clover to add depth. The die also comes with different types of flowers which I cut from colored cardstock. I went with soft colors for a Spring pastel theme.     For the shaker element I back the panel with acetate a...

Mama Elephant's Mod Heart Two Ways

Hi Everyone, Peggy here with inspiration spotlighting the Mod Heart dies by Mama Elephant. These were in the January 2022 release and it's a super versatile set. I will be showing you two cards I made, using both the window that remains in the paper after cutting out the large heart, as well as using the pieces that pop out. Both of my cards feature the cute birthday cake hamster from the February 2022 release set Celebration Hamster , stamped with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink and colored with copic markers. Feel free to ask for copic numbers, if you are interested! Card 1 For my first card, I wanted to make a shaker. I took a piece of pretty paper fit for a birthday card. Mine was an Echo Park  6x6 patterned paper, with pinks, blues, yellows and black. But you can choose any paper you like and customize for any occasion. I cut the patterned paper using the wonky rectangle in the Mod Heart set. I saved the remaining piece of the patterned paper for my second card. I cut a second wonky...

Yippee Birthday Card

Hi everybody! It's Cassie from Creatively Cass, back today to share a card I made with you. Today's card was inspired by a card I made a long time ago where I had a volcano shaker. I wanted to do a similar design except this time I wanted the shaker to be coming out of the bottom of a piñata, as if it were breaking open. Here's a look at the final card.  I love the rainbow colors on this and the fun interactive element. I haven't made a shaker card in so long, I was definitely reteaching myself some things today! I started with a piece of kraft card stock and die cut a stitched rectangle from it. I used the MFT stencil Watercolor Wash Rectangle and Distress Oxide inks Candied Apple, Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, and Wild Honey to get this cute watercolor centerpiece on the card. From there I used a ruler and craft knife to cut a triangle in the lower middle portion of the card. I tried so hard to measure and make it centered and even, however that is not my stro...

Scent with Love BRI Moodboard inspiration

Hello crafty friends! Davina here, with some January BRI Moodboard color inspiration. Today I’m sharing a shaker card that combines several newer, and older, sets by Lawn Fawn. I’ve been making many more shaker cards than I ever have before, and each has been a different kind/style. I really love the flat mesh ones that I’ve shared, but today, I kept it classic. The colors in this months Moodboard are spun sugar, mauve, butterscotch, and marine blue. I incorporated these colors by creating a skunk filled scene with lots of Valentine’s Day images. I started by making my snow globe shaker. The new dies are huge, so I dig deep into my stash, and found my  Ready Set Snow  stamps and dies from years ago. It was the perfect size for a little mail man skunk and some goodies. I stamped out images from  Scent with Love  ,  Scent with Love Add on  and last years  Special Delivery sets, then colored everything up before die cutting with the coordinating dies....

Clearly Besotted Winter Shaker Card

Hi crafty friends! Did you hear the news? Butterfly Reflections Ink. is now carrying Clearly Besotted ! If you are not familiar with this brand, you NEED to check them out! They are a small UK-based stamp company that makes the cutest stamps! So I am so super excited to share this shaker card with you featuring their Scene It Seasons and Seasonal Line Up stamps! I stamped and colored the winter scene stamp with Copic markers (listed below). Then I masked off and ink blended the sky with salvaged patina Distress Oxide ink . I added some sparkly Stickles and gel pen snow. Next I stamped out the winter line up and colored and cut out the little penguin at the end.  To create the card front, I cut out the window using  Lawn Fawn's Outside In Scalloped Square Stackables die  and then used a snowflake embossing folder . I heat embossed the sentiment and cut out the sentiment strip with my paper trimmer. To assemble the shaker, I used a double layer of foam tape  to cr...

Peace and Joy to all my Gnomies

Hello crafty friends! Gladys here and I'm so happy to be back on the blog today. I have a super cute shape card to share with you. I hope you will like it! I have been wanting to create a snow globe shaker card so this is what I came up with. I really love how it turned out and it was super fun to make. I thought it would be cute to combine it with the Oh Gnomie Tree stamp from Mama Elephant. So to begin I colored the huge gnome tree image using copic markers then cut it out using the coordinating die .  Next I used the Snow Globe die from Honey Bee stamps. I like the size of this snow globe and the gnome tree fit perfectly. I cut the solid snow globe die from Bristol smooth cardstock so I could do some ink blending. I used the colors seedless preserves , picked raspberry and spun sugar distress oxide inks . I started from the center using the lightest pink color to the darkest on the edge. To add interest I splattered some water droplets and diluted seedless preserves using a f...

Little LLama Snowglobe Fun

Hello crafty friends! Peggy here with some Christmas inspiration with the beautiful products from Mama Elephant. I combined some older products with one of the newly released grid covers to create a super fun shaker card. So, Llama tell you how I made this card! When it came out last month, I totally fell in love with the Globies Grid Cover . Mama Elephant is known for their Little Agenda stamp sets and with the enormous diversity in Grid Cover dies , the possibilities are endless. I started by stamping out some images from the Little Llama Agenda that would be suitable for Christmas, as well as the letters JOY from the Joy Ornaments set. I stamped with Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink , which is my favorite alcohol marker friendly ink. Next, I colored the images with my copics and fussy cut them out. I love the Tim Holtz Serrated Scissors for this because it gives a little more grip. Next, I used the Globies Grid Cover to cut out some foam to create my shaker pockets, as well as the front...

Hot Diggity Dog Shaker Card

Hellooo crafty friends! It's another Monday in October and I have another Halloween card for you! Here was my creative thought process with this card: I wanted to create a very traditional orange-and-black Halloween card. I also wanted to make a full panel shaker card. I absolutely love the hot dog dachshund from Paperie Ink's Happy Haunting set . I loooove puns. TA-DA! And this is what I came up with! First, I stamped and colored the adorable hot dog doggie with Copic markers (dog E13, E15, E18; hot dog costume E30, E31, E34, R24, Y17) and fussy cut the image. For the background, I used the emboss resist technique by stamping my images and heat embossing clear embossing powder . Then I ink blended Distress inks (mustard seed, spiced marmalade, carved pumpkin, ripe persimmon, black soot) and then wiped any excess ink off the images. (You can do the same technique with Distress Oxide inks .) To create the full panel shaker, I cut a piece of plastic (recycled packaging from a s...

Travelers

Hello crafty friends! It's Veronica here and today I'm on the blog with a super funny shaker card. I first stamped my images from the Travel Plans Stamp Set by My Favorite Things on a piece of Transotype paper, I colored them all with my Copic Ciao Markers and finally fuzzy cut them.   For the background I stamped the City Block Background Stamp , again by My Favorite Things, with my Versamark Ink and embossed it with white powder. Then, I ink blended my panel with Distress Oxide inks in Dried Marigold , Speckled Egg and Blueprint Sketch .     Finally, I die cut a window from a new white card stock panel where I stamped my sentiment from the same stamp set and I added a bunch of sequins and glass sand. I assembled everything with a piece of acetate and some foam. Hope you like my card and see you next week! From Italy with love, Veronica

Doggy Boba Tea with Leontine

Hello again! Today I wanted to share an all die cut card with you. And I didn't attach it to a card base, but made sure the back was a mirror image of the front. That way it really looks like the dog is peeking through the circle with his boba tea. I used book buddy bear and dog on some paper bag cardstock . I used black licorice cardstock for the eyes and snout. To create the background I used some white cardstock and the cloud nine die. I used a circle from stacked circles to cut a hole in the top of the card panel. Once I had two identical panels I inked them up with some salvaged patina and shaded lilac . I used liquid stardust mixed with water to create some fun shimmery splatters on the ink. I left those two panels to dry, and once they were I glued them together. Now the boba shaker combo was a little trickier to make. I used pearlescent vellum for the front and back of the cup, acetate for the window and lid, white cardstock for the whipped cream, ballet slippe...
