Close to My Heart

Hello, BRI fans! Toni here with you today. I'm sharing a super cute mixed media card that has me singing with joy! The base of the card front is Ranger Adirondack Alcohol Inks dropped onto Yupo .  You can see the various colors peeking out from behind the Lawn Fawn Polka Heart Cover Plate die cut. I die cut the  MFT Heart Tree  from a leftover piece of  Ranger Tim Holtz Watercolor Cardstock  colored with Lindy's Magicals. I left pieces inside the die and dotted the paper with  Ranger Multi Medium Matte . I then placed the front panel onto the backside of a mouse pad and pressed the tree die facedown onto it. I used a stiletto tool to push out any remaining pieces then removed the die, leaving the paper behind. Magic! I next colored the MFT Tweet Friends bird using the below Copics . Isn't he sweet?! Lastly I stamped one of MFT Tweet Friends sentiments with Stazon Jet Black onto a piece of the leftover Yupo panel. Normally I would have ...

Hello My Lovely Friend - Resin

Happy Tuesday everyone! Danielle here up on the BRI blog with a super fun and easy card featuring Concord & 9th Banners & Bloom and Lawn Fawn Fancy Folded Banners  die using resin.  This was so much fun and so easy! I started off with die cutting a piece of pink shimmer cardstock and Lawn Fawn Sparkle Pixie Dust card stock (which is my fave glitter cardstock) using Lawn Fawn's Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables Die.  I adhered both panels to my card base using Mono permanent tape adhesive .  For my main panel I used a piece of Alcohol ink Yupo white paper and just loosely colored diagonally with various copic markers.  I wanted to try something a little different so I mixed some resin together and added some Lawn Fawn chunky glitter  and glitter flakes to my resin mixture (when the resin has completely dried it will give the effect of the glitter "floating").  What I like about resin is that it creates a "glass" effect.  It's th...

Alcohol inks with the Pantone of the year, 2018!

Hi guys! Erica on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog today and I have three projects for you. All with the Pantone of the year: Ultraviolet ! I must admit that purple isn't my favourite colour but I do know many people who love it. My mother is one. These projects are all done with her in mind. Her birthday isn't until May but you know, it's never to soon to plan ahead when you are making handmade gifts. I used both Copic markers, alcohol inks and metallic mixatives on Yupo paper. I love seeing the inks mix on this paper, it's mesmerising! If you haven't tried it yet, you HAVE to! My first piece was done using grey and purple Copic markers directly on the Yupo paper, in wide stripes. Then, using a small natural sponge (you can usually find these in water colour supplies sections of stores) soaked in Copic blending solution , I dragged the sponge vertically along the stripes to activate the ink and the paper. I added slightly too much blending solution whic...
