November Moodboard with Davina

Hello Crafty Friends. Davina here with a little BRI Moodboard inspired card today. The November colors  Amanda chose are very easy to play with. Harvest Yellow, Clay Pink, BlackBerry, and Rich Teal make up the quartet of color this month.   The project I’m sharing today is using a few sets from Paperie Ink. I’m very new to this brand and purchased a few seasonal sets last month. I didn’t have a chance to use them sooner, but I’m so loving how cute these characters are. I combined the stamp sets   Autumn is Calling  and  Happy Holi-yay , along with Lawn Fawns  Meadow Backdrop  Die. I stamped all of my images with Momento Rich Cocoa ink and copic colored everything using light and dark shades of this months colors.  Since there are no coordinating dies for these stamp sets, I had to use the scan n cut. Which worked fine considering I’m never going to fussy cut this many images. I recommend always cutting out before you color you images. The Sc...

Hay, Girl! Hay!

Good morning, friends! It's Cassie here with a couple cards for you today. I'm one of the many who were drooling over the new My Favorite Things release, so today I used two sets for the same card design. I followed Jennifer McGuire's example and started by cutting my cardstock to 3 1/2 by 11. Then you score the paper at 4 inches from one edge and 2 1/2 inches from the opposite edge. The flaps overlap and that will be where you place your die to cut the opening flap. I used the Sunny Studio Fishtail Banner dies. I made sure that the two flaps were over lapping where the die was going to makes the cuts. After the cuts were made I started stamping. For this card I used the Llama Love stamp set's cactus images to create a pattern for the background. To color them in I used multiple green Copic combinations. I stamped, colored in, and fussy cut one of the llamas. I LOVE these adorable llamas. I think this is probably my favorite stamp set to date for MFT ! Next I...

Guest Designer Sunday - Elena Roussakis

Today, I'm SUPER excited to introduce our May Guest Designer - it's Elena Roussakis !!!! Seriously, she colors images the CUTEST!!!!! I LOOOOOOVE her style and can't help but swoon every time I see a new card or party set up! _____________________________________________ I'm a 30-something stay at home mom with 3 kids, and a husband I've known since kindergarten. I stamped our monogram onto the covers of 200 wedding programs 13 years ago, and vowed I'd never stamp again. But I found myself needing a creative outlet when I started staying home with kids. Something just for me. Since then, I've discovered I not only love making cards, but I love to use my stamping supplies to decorate for parties, and I have started illustrating my own stamp sets. Currently, you can find my stamp designs in the Neat and Tangled store . Below are two cards Elena made that just KNOCK my socks off: See what I'm talking about? This card uses a NEW stamp set b...

Happy Mother's Day

Hello there, friends! It is officially my last post for Butterfly Reflections, Ink . I have thoroughly enjoyed creating inspiration for you, here. Today, I created a card for Mother's Day, using a lovely Winnie & Walter stamp set called In Bloom: Anna's Flora . I have used this set so many times, and it is surely a classic floral stamp set that everyone needs in there collection. I began by stamping a flower, leaves, and a sprig around the edges of the card. I chose the daisy, as it's my mom's favorite flower, and colored all of the images with Copic Markers. I then stamped the large Happy from The Big, the Bold, and Happy , using black ink in the center. I continued my sentiment below using Versamark ink, and gold embossing powder. I took all of the stamps I used, and stamped over my originally stamped images a bit offset using Versamark, and sprinkled gold powder over everything. I then heat set it, making sure to have pre heat my tool so it was ...

Guest Designer Sunday with Sarah Jay!

Hello again and good morning! Today is our final day with the AMAZING Sarah Jay as Guest Designer with us! She is SOOOO talented! Be sure to leave her LOTS of love - I know I'm not the only one oooo-ing and ahhhh-ing over her coloring!! ___________________________________________ Hello, it's Sarah Jay again , back for my last post as a Guest Designer. When I saw MFT's new Cool Cat stamp set in the BRI shop, I knew it had to come home with me. I'm not embarrassed to tell you that I'm smitten with the kittens in Neko Atsume, a sweet mobile app that lets you collect cute virtual cats without becoming an actual cat lady, and some of these stamp images remind me of those cuties. For this card, I used one of my favorite techniques: paper piecing. When I cut a 6x6 sheet of patterned paper into a card front, there are always a few small pieces of patterned paper left. And I hoard them all. Because they're perfect for this technique. I covered my card base with...

You Are Wonderful

Hello friends! Thanks so much for joining me here today for another card. It's hard to believe my time here is almost over! I have had such a great time, bringing you inspiration and promoting Vanessa's fabulous store! So, how about that card? I started with a white card stock panel, and die cut an oval from it, using the Avery Elle Sweet Scallops die set . I then traced a light pencil mark onto a white card base as a guide for my stamping, I flicked onto it, some black paint, and allowed it to dry while I did my stamping.  Using the Anemone stamp set from Jane's Doodles, I stamped two flowers, and a leaf within the pencil line markings on my card base, erased them, and colored in my images with Copic Markers. Here is a look at the colors I used to color the images. :) After the coloring was finished, I popped up the white panel, inserted a blacked die cut scallop from that same Avery Elle die set , and added a white heat embossed sentiment ...

It's Seal-Abrate Time!

Hello friends! Amy ( The Craft Bunny ) here. Now that it's April, I hope you are enjoying Spring in your city. I am already looking forward to Summer :) My family used to go to a theme park similar to SeaWorld in the summer. It was always a very fun experience. Today, I have channeled my happy memory to create a seal card. The Seal-Abrate stamp set from Avery Elle is a small stamp set. I like this set very much because it is so affordable. However, small sets can be limiting when I build scenes. So, I combined it with MFT's Take the Stage Die-namics to make a simple performance scene. Below is my step-by-step: Die cut the stage pieces from white card stock. Blend with Antique Linen and Salty Ocean distress inks . Mount with foam tape. Blend some Pumice Stone at the bottom to make a ground. Add some water droplets Stamp the seal and his stand with Momento Tuxedo Black ink. Color with Copic markers . Die cut out with coordinating dies . Mount with foam tape Die...

You Are Amazing

Hello, hello! Lindsay here, sharing a floral card using a few older sets from Winnie & Walter! I know I have used it before, but the  In Bloom: Anna's Flora  set is one of my favorites. I started with a card stock panel, and stamped a cluster of images in the top corner. I masked off some of the flowers, to add leaves, and then I colored them in with Copic Markers. Using The Big, the Bold, and You stamp set, I stamped my sentiment in black ink, and added strips of gold glitter paper, and black card stock to the side. I then adhered the panel to a white card base. Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you give your older stamp sets some love! Have a crafty day!

Easy Floral Wreath Using MISTI

Hi friends! Amy ( The Craft Bunny ) here today sharing some MISTI tips. When I first got my MISTI, I only used it to stamp my sentiment. As I become more comfortable with this tool, I began to pick up more techniques. Today's card features a floral wreath made with small stamp images from Altenew's  Beautiful Day and Peony Bouquet . This can be easily achieved with MISTI  by stamping a flower to the side, then turn your card by 180 degree, then stamp again. I did not use any masks for this card. Instead, I manipulated the stamps so they look like they are connected together. This is very easy to do and the wreath itself only took me a few minutes to stamp. For the rest of the card: Fill in the outer white space with the same stamp images with light gray ink Color in the wreath with Copic markers . After the coloring, I added some small dots to balance out my wreath so it'd look more centered Stamp the sentiment repeatedly using black and gray ink Lastly, em...

You Are Awesome!

Hi friends! Amy (The Craft Bunny ) here today to share a fun scene card using some Avery Elle goodies. Avery Elle has recently come up with some really unique stamps. I am so excited to use them and share with you! Today, I am using Stoked and Hats Off. I love Stoked! It's so fun and excellent for Copic coloring! I have been watercoloring so much lately that my Copic skills are getting rusty. It's time to get back in the game! Below is my step-by-step. Stamp the hands onto a piece of white card stock. Mask them with masking paper , then stamp the cool drummer. Color the images with Copic markers Mask off the drummer with masking paper. Then, mask off two straight lines with painter's tape, blend in some yellow distress ink to be the stage light. Then, blend some dark colors to be the background. Sprinkle some water Stamp the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink Die cut the panel with MFT Die-namics Blueprints 25 That's it for this simple one-la...

You Amaze Me

Hello, hello! I have an elegant floral card to share today, using a few products found in the store! I started by stamping the amazing rose image from Winnie & Walter's Anna's Florals stamp set, and colored in with Copic Markers. I trimmed them out, and outlined them with black marker. I then moved on to the background! The Next Level Embossing Folders from We R Memory Keepers, are amazing! I used the Geometric set for this, and when I had it finished, splattered it with a bit of Black Soot Distress Stain . After it dried, I adhered it to a white card base, and attached my flower, leaf combo, along with a sentiment strip of black card stock, and white embossing. I chose a sweet sentiment from MFT's fabulous Whimsical Greetings stamp set. Lastly, I added a few gems! I hope you were inspired today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
