Sweet Christmas Wishes

Hello! This is Tiffany and today I'm sharing my latest Christmas creation. I used several Lawn Fawn items from the Butterfly Reflections, Ink. online store to create this card. I began by die cutting Lawn Fawn's Gingerbread Friends and Scripty Sweet from Kraft card stock, once they were all cut out I inked the edges with brown ink and added Star Dust Stickles to give a sugar effect. I die cut the icing and accessories next using white and red card stock, the Santa hat is from Lawn Fawn's Tiny Gift Box Holiday Hats Add-On . Next I stamped "We wish you a" and "Christmas" from Lawn Fawn's Offset Sayings: Christmas onto a stitched white card stock panel. The piece of pattered paper on the red card stock panel is from Lawn Fawn's Knit Picky paper pack. To make this card I also used Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Tombo liquid glue, and foam squares . I hope you've enjoyed my card and I'll see you again next week!

Snowman Fun

Hello! This is Tiffany and today I have two cards to share with you. I used several items from the Butterfly Reflections, Ink online store to create these cards. I recently purchased the Mama Elephant Circular Grid Die and I wanted to show how versatile it could be. When using this die, you can use it as is (5 1/2 x 4 1/4) with stitched borders or cut it down like I did for both cards. For the larger A2 sized card I trimmed off the stitched border and then used an edge distressing tool on the edges, I wanted to have a patterned paper border on my card. For the square card I trimmed the die cut piece down to 3 7/8 x 3 7/8, the square card measures at 4 1/8 x 4 1/8. For both cards I ink blended the backgrounds using two shades of blue, I then splattered white and silver paint to create a snowy effect. I stamped images from Mama Elephant's Little Snowman Agenda in Memento Gray Flannel ink, I wanted the snowmen to have a dark outline but not as dark as a black outline. Once the ...

Penguin Parade

Hello & Happy December! This is Tiffany and I have to start by telling you that I absolutely LOVE Mama Elephant's Little Penguin Agenda ! I used this stamp set and several other items from the Butterfly Reflection's, Ink. online store to make this card. The card base measures at 9 1/4 x 5 3/4, then score in half lengthwise. This card fits in an A6 envelope. I used Lawn Fawn's mini Polaroid die from their Say Cheese, Again die set, I cut it out 6 times using white card stock. To create the Polaroid backgrounds, I used two shades of blue to ink blend then spattered white and gold paint. I stamped the images from Mama Elephant's Little Penguin Agenda and sentiments from Mama Elephant's Holiday Messages in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Once the images were cut out I colored them with Copic markers and added Diamond Stickles to some of the details. I used red gingham patterned paper from Pebble's Merry Merry 6 x 6 paper pad. I assembled the card using ...

Fa la la

Hi Crafty Friends! This is Tiffany and today I'm sharing a card using products from a few different brands that can be purchased in the Butterfly Reflections, Ink. online store. I began my card by ink blending a blue background, spritzing it with water and splattering gold and white paint on it. I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the ink blended background and then used My Favorite Thing's Fa La La die to cut out the sentiment. I used the Fa La La die twice, once on the background and once on a piece of white card stock. I used the cut out sentiment from the white card stock to inlay the sentiment. I stamped images from Hello Bluebird's Frosty Littles in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, colored them with Copic markers, and cut them out. The red and gold polka dot paper is from Pebble's Merry Little Christmas paper pad and I used Lawn Fawn's Stitched Hillside Borders to create a snowbank. To assemble the card, I used Tombo liquid glue and f...

Sweet Christmas!

Hi Everyone!  Can you believe November is already here?  The holidays will be here soon, and before you know it, we will be in the new year!  I'm going to be sharing some holiday cards with you all this month and in the month of December. Today, I have a colorful holiday card featuring an adorable gingerbread family.  I also added some fun details to make the card extra special! To start, using a standard A2 card base cut from Bristol smooth cardstock, I ink blended the following  distress oxide colors (top to bottom): mermaid lagoon and seedless preserves . On the side I mixed Liquitex gloss super heavy gel and white acrylic paint to create a thick white paste.  I applied the paste to the bottom of the ink blended card base using a spatula and let it dry overnight.  I love how the paste looks like frosting when dry! Then using a separate piece of white cardstock, I cut out the border using fancy scalloped rectangle stackables and adhered...

Unicorns & Rainbows

Hello there, friends! It's Christy from Christy Gets Crafty here today with a cute card featuring  My Favorite Things Fairy-tale Friends . These unicorns and rainbows are so much fun to color! And to make things even sweeter, I added in a few cupcakes from  Birdie Brown's Birth-Yay . After I stamped and colored all my images with Copic markers , I trimmed them out with the  matching dies.  Then I die-cut two cloud panels using  Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Borders . I glued the back one down flat to the card base with liquid glue, then stamped my sentiment on the front panel with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice ink and popped it up with foam tape . I adhered my images with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape, then stamped out the little sparkle marks from A Little Sparkle in Forget-Me-Not and Moonstone ink . As a finishing touch, I dabbed on a bit of Crystal Stickles to my unicorns horn and wings, the rainbow, and cupcake liners to  bring some...

I ink blended the background with Distress Inks in Seedless Preserves, Picked Raspberry and Dried Marigold! Love that whimsical, magical looking sky! I added some details by dropping water on top of it! Once it was dry, I used some white embossing paste and the Adventure Awaits Night Sky Stencil from Echo Park ! 'Owl are ya?

Hey there!  Ashley again here up on the blog today! So happy to be here to share with you this cute and fun card I made recently.  Let me take you through the steps. First I stamped the images from the Happy Owlidays stamp set from Sunny Studio Stamps with Gina K. Amalgam Ink and colored them with my copic markers.  I then cut them out with the coordinating Happy Owlidays Dies .  Setting aside the cute little images, I started on the base of the card.  I had a pre-made card base and took my Festive Berries Oxide ink and inked up the center in a circular motion.  When it was how I wanted it, I spritzed it with water and quickly soaked up the excess water with a paper towel.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Foxy Christmas Stamp set onto the front of the card.  Next I adhered the images to the card with thin foam adhesive squares.  To finish the card off, I applied Christmas Red Stickles to the berries and a few Clear Round Drop...

Love X Stitch

Hi everyone! Jenny here, I'm back and gatecrashing the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog for today only.  I've got a fun card showing you how you can use one of the fab Paper Smooches cross stitch dies along with some stamping.  It takes a little effort but it's so fun! To create my card, I used the Paper Smooches cross stitch die to cut an A2 sized panel of thick (110lb) pale grey pink cardstock.  I die cut it in the centre.  It's important to use thicker cardstock for this as it makes it much easier to stitch. I then used a variety of DMC embroidery floss (6 strand skein) to stitch the panel.  I used a tapestry needle and 4 strands to stitch the panel, changing the floss colour every 4 lines of crosses.  You can create fantastic patterns with this die, but I wanted to do something fairly simple. When I completed the panel, I trimmed it down around the edges (don't cut any of the thread!).  I then die cut the same colour card and a piece of c...

Did Someone Say...Mermaids?

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a card with you! Yay card!! Ha! I used lots of products available in the shop, so let's get into the nitty gritty and then you can get to the shopping! :) I used the adorable Mermazing stamp set from Neat and Tangled and I am in LOVE with all of these images! Eeeek! So cute, right?! I colored her in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers , and then fussy cut her out, but if you're not a fussy cutter, there are coordinating dies , too! and that makes this card even easier! **And guess what, the coordinating dies are ON SALE ! ** To create the background, I used Distress Inks in Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch to create that FUN watercolored wave! I started by smooshing the ink onto a piece of plastic packaging in a wave shape, spritzed it with water, and then pressed it onto my cardstock!  I repeated that process a few times with the various colors to add some depth. And when it was all dry, I splattere...

Pretty as a Peacock!

Hi everyone, Jenny here, back with another glittery card (I can't help it, I've become a glitter addict).  This time I wanted to show some alternative ways to use more of your glittery supplies, to expand the options available to you.   First off I created my card panel by using a stencil (here I used the Hero Arts Peacock Feather Stencil ) and Distress Clear Rock Candy Stickles to create a subtle shimmer on the background.  After I discovered my love of Nuvo Glimmer Paste (which Butterfly Reflections Ink carries) I wanted to see if I could expand the color selection available to me by trying to use Stickles in the same way as Stickles comes in so many more colors.    A few notes on using Stickles in lieu of embossing paste: 1) It's not as gooey - so you end up using more than you would use with the paste.  Given the containers are small you would go through your stash pretty quickly.  However the effect it gives is very pretty an...

Don't Blink!!

Hello! Samantha here, and today I'm sharing a FUN layout about our super BRIEF encounter with 'snow' here in South Carolina, last winter! It was SOOOO quick, it melted before touching the ground, and if you blinked, you would miss it! Ha! But it still counts, right?! Ha! I started by using gesso on my background, and then went crazy with the watercolor and paints in peaches, pinks, purples and black! SO FUN! Super loving that color combination! :) The gesso protects the white cardstock from deteriorating from all of the water and paints!  Once it was all dry, I used some white embossing paste and this AMAZING Knight Sky Stencil by Echo Park to add some stars and texture! After attaching those fabbie wood veneer chevrons, I covered them in clear glitter Stickles !! LOOOOOOVE that look!  And even though this is a winter layout, I used LOTS of ephemera from the Pink Paislee Summer Lights collection!! The pinks and purples were perfect matches! I also added ...

Happy Birthday, Matey!

Hi there! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 stopping by to share a pirate themed birthday card with you today.  I had so much fun with these adorable images from Lawn Fawn.... I mean, seriously, how cute are these guys? These adorable little pirate images are from Lawn Fawn's Ahoy, Matey Stamp Set .  I colored them with my Copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating Ahoy, Matey Lawn Cuts.   The little seashells are from another darling Lawn Fawn set,  Mermaid For You. I added a little sparkle to several images with a Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen and gold Stickles . To create my card panel, I inked up my cardstock with my  Mini Ink Blending Tool and several colors of Distress Ink including:  Mermaid Lagoon, Salty Ocean,  Carved Pumpkin and Worn Lipstick. For finishing touches to my card, I used a White Uni-Ball Signo Pen to add a few "waves" to my ocean.  I also added a few Copic marker dots to...

You're One Smart Cookie!

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday to you! This is Tanya from Studio 5380 and I have a cute graduation card to share with you today.  This fun, shaker card is for my grandson, Brayden, who is about to graduate from Kindergarten.... I used some fun Lawn Fawn products to create this card for my smart little cookie.  The adorable images are from the Smart Cookie Stamp Set .  After stamping and coloring the images, I used the Smart Cookie Lawn Cuts dies to cut them out.  I also used the Scripty Congrats Lawn Cuts die to cut out the word "congrats".  I cut out the sentiment three times and layered them together using some Multi Medium Matte Adhesive . To add a little sparkle, I covered the word "congrats" with some Frosted Lace Stickles .  I also added a bit of Glossy Accents to the glasses on my cute little cookie.  While the Stickles and Glossy Accents were drying, I started working on my shaker frame.  Using the Die-namics S...
