Sweet birthday treat, zero calories!

I had planned to use the Lawn Fawn  stitched cupcake die for classroom valentines this year, but my kiddos had very specific designs in mind that didn't involve cupcakes!  So, I decided to make a SWEET birthday card for my card stash instead. For this card, I started with watercolor paper cut to 4 x 5.25."  I used the Newton's Nook  cascading stars stencil  with Nuvo glimmer paste in pink opal  to add stars to the top half of the background.  I let this background dry overnight, just to be safe! I cut the cupcake pieces from Bristol smooth card stock and used distress oxide inks to add color:   milled lavender , wilted violet , vintage photo , picked raspberry and touches of squeezed lemonade and spiced marmalade .  I used VersaMark ink and some clear glitter embossing powder to add some sparkle to the icing and candle.  I like to see how other crafters do things, so I thought I'd show my set-up:  I use some tape runner...

Unicorns & Rainbows

Hello there, friends! It's Christy from Christy Gets Crafty here today with a cute card featuring  My Favorite Things Fairy-tale Friends . These unicorns and rainbows are so much fun to color! And to make things even sweeter, I added in a few cupcakes from  Birdie Brown's Birth-Yay . After I stamped and colored all my images with Copic markers , I trimmed them out with the  matching dies.  Then I die-cut two cloud panels using  Lawn Fawn's Puffy Cloud Borders . I glued the back one down flat to the card base with liquid glue, then stamped my sentiment on the front panel with Lawn Fawn Black Licorice ink and popped it up with foam tape . I adhered my images with a combination of liquid glue and foam tape, then stamped out the little sparkle marks from A Little Sparkle in Forget-Me-Not and Moonstone ink . As a finishing touch, I dabbed on a bit of Crystal Stickles to my unicorns horn and wings, the rainbow, and cupcake liners to  bring some...
