Halloween Wishes boxcard with Davina

Hello crafty friends! I thought I’d pop in here with a cute Halloween Boxcard using the latest Pretty Pink Posh release. It’s so fun and easy to create a full boxcard using the MFT stamps Outside the Box Level Up die sets. I love to stamps tons of images and put them all in and around the cute box cards.  For this Spooky treat I cut and assembled the box from thick sturdy black cardstock, and cut some grass and hill inserts from scraps strips of patterned and glitter paper that I had on my desk. I cut the stitched background arch from some bristol smooth cardstock, then used the  Layered Candy Corn Stencil  from Pretty Pink Posh with  Carved Pumpkin ,  Kitsch Flamingo , and  Antique Linen  distress oxides. I distressed the edge of the cut out and splattered black ink onto the panel. Next, I added a PPP ...

Mothers Day Bri Moodboard Inspiration

Hello crafty friends! Davina here on the blog with fun Mothers Day card I created using some wonderfully  tropical products in the shop, and the May BRI Moodboard colors. All of the items I used are in stock at the  Butterfly Reflections Ink website.   Once again Amanda had gifted us a beautiful Moodboard to inspire our creativity. Rose Water, Aurora Magenta, Marine Green, and Tropic Canary. The jewel tones of this months colors scream tropics to me, so I made a tropical scene. That amazing Fantastic Fronds   slimline cover plate is from Trinity Stamps, and I only used one, small yet mighty, cute stamp set from Pretty Pink Posh called  Tropical Toucans .  I used some heavy weight cardstock to make my slimline base for my card. Next, I cut the 4 inch remaining piece of cardstock with my  Fantastic Fronds   slimline coverplate. On a piece of 3.5 X 8.5 Bristol Smooth Cardstock I blended  Lucky Clover,   Mowed Lawn,  and  Twis...

Easter BRI Moodboard inspiration

Hello crafty friends! Davina here on the blog with a bright spring card to spark some #brimoodboard color inspiration for you. The colors this month are truly special. Very trendy, boho colors, that just give happy vibes. Not to mention that they coordinate with some of our favorite Distress Ink and Oxide colors. Saltwater Taffy, Wild Honey, Tumbled Glass, and Peacock Feathers, you couldn’t ask for a more delicious color board.  With Easter being only a week away, I wanted to make an Easter card. I haven’t purchased any new Easter themed sets in a of couple years since I don’t send out Easter cards, and I was just collecting them. So I went through my stash and found a few sets that I have been hoarding for years to play with. All items are in stock and  available on the Butterfly Reflections Ink website. I wanted to make a mesh shaker using the cute jar set from Lawn Fawn. Funny enough, I have never used those standard jelly beans that come in the  How you bean  set...

Underwater Friends Boxcard with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with some March BRI Moodboard inspiration. I created a teeny little Boxcard with an underwater scene and I hope you like it as much as I do. The colors this month are Heather, BlackBerry, Olive and Fir Green. It can often be intimidating to use color combos that you aren’t  familiar with, but let me assure you that these lovely shades of purple and green go beautifully together.  As always, the products I use for these posts are in stock at the  Butterfly Reflections Ink  online store. I used an ocean themed stamp set from  Avery Elle  called  Underwater Friends  and it’s  Coordinating dies , and the die set for the boxcard is the extremely versatile  Lawn Fawn Shadow Box  , with a scalloped frame from the  Ocean Add On .  I was going to create an inkblended background for the underwater interior, but I happened to rediscover a paper pad in my stash that has life-like alcohol ink patt...

BRI Moodboard inspiration with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here on the  Butterfly Reflections Ink  with some March Bri Moodboard Inspiration. Every month, Amanda puts together an incredibly amazing Moodboard for us to play along with. The March Moodboard is no exception, full of moody gemstone colors. Heather, BlackBerry, Olive, and fir. Now, I’m not going to lie, it was difficult for me to step away from the bright sherbet spring colors I had on my desk. It took me some time to come up with a card idea, but once I pulled these sets out everything came together.  I decided to build a green and purple animal party in the pond. I was going to use some fluffy critters at first, but I didn’t want all of that brown fur. So I thought cute green toads and soft purple swans were just what I needed. I flipped through my  Pretty Pink Posh  collection and came across this storybook set called  Pond Friends . I also got out a few of their birthday sets like the new  Birthday Wreath  stamp...

Hamster Party Boxcard with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here, with a Hamster filled celebration using the new  Mama Elephant  release, and it’s all available now at  Butterfly Reflections Ink . I can’t get enough of these adorable party critters and wanted to markers something special for my post. As I do most times, I’m also using the current BRI Moodboard colors. This color board is a moody romantic collection of grays, pink, and gold. I went with some softer tones for my coloring and just love it.  I love the Mama Elephant  Ornate House CC  die, and have used it many times to make shaker cards. But, I wanted to use the larger Images from  Celebration Hamsters  in addition to the cute and tiny  Little Hamster Agenda  stamps, so I knew I would have to get creative.  I decided to play “Dr. Frankenstein” and combine the A2 sized  Ornate House CC  , with the boxcard portions of the  Slim Scene Builder . I’m going to list some step by ...

Scent with Love BRI Moodboard inspiration

Hello crafty friends! Davina here, with some January BRI Moodboard color inspiration. Today I’m sharing a shaker card that combines several newer, and older, sets by Lawn Fawn. I’ve been making many more shaker cards than I ever have before, and each has been a different kind/style. I really love the flat mesh ones that I’ve shared, but today, I kept it classic. The colors in this months Moodboard are spun sugar, mauve, butterscotch, and marine blue. I incorporated these colors by creating a skunk filled scene with lots of Valentine’s Day images. I started by making my snow globe shaker. The new dies are huge, so I dig deep into my stash, and found my  Ready Set Snow  stamps and dies from years ago. It was the perfect size for a little mail man skunk and some goodies. I stamped out images from  Scent with Love  ,  Scent with Love Add on  and last years  Special Delivery sets, then colored everything up before die cutting with the coordinating dies....

Warm Holiday Hugs with Davina

Hello crafty friends! Davina here with some winter BRI Moodboard color inspiration for you today. I used the beautiful cool-toned colors of the December Moodboard, and tons of Mama Elephant goodies, to create this fun scene. The colors this month are Ice Blue, Classic Blue, Greenery, and Sparkling Silver. They are the perfect combination for all of the winter scenery. All of the items used are available in the Butterfly Reflections Ink online store.  I was so excited to pull out my Mama Elephant products and create a Holiday card with these colors. I knew I wanted to use my  Arch Snow Globe  die set, and looked for some arctic stamp sets to combine. I’ve always loved the  Me and my Yeti  stamp set and I thought the cute penguins from the  Little Penguin Agenda  set would go well together.  I stamped and ...

Peace on Earth with the BRI Moodboard

Hello crafty friends. Davina here with some November BRI Moodboard color inspiration. I really wanted to create a Christmas card using these bold fall colors, and with the help of the recent Reverse Confetti release, I’m excited to share my project.  I didn’t hesitate to purchase the new  Adore Him  stamps and die set when it became available. I love the illustrations and the simplicity of the images. It’s very rare that I create a card using only one stamp set and this is one of those times.  I looked though my stash of R.C. Cover panels and was excited to find the oldie but goodie  Sunburst Cover Panel  confetti cut. I thought the rays would be a perfect background for an inky background. I inked up a muted ocean blue piece of cardstock with  Speckled Egg  and  Iced Spruce  distress oxide ink then splattered with gold and white ink. I layered a crisp white sunburst panel over the top of my inky background.  Next, I stamped my imag...

Oh So Cozy BRI Moodboard inspiration

Hello crafty friends! Davina here on the blog today, to share some cozy Autumn inspiration using the November BRI Moodboard colors. This month the Moodboard brings to us, some moody earthy tones, that remind me of photos I’ve seen of foggy tree filled forests. Being from the desert, my mind also clings to the idea of  beautiful red rocks and terra cotta clay pots. Steel Gray, Baked Earth, Blue Spruce, and Pine Grove are this months color collection.  While flipping through my bins of Mama Elephant stamps, I was going to try some little foxes in the woods. And then I saw my cover plate dies, and the unused, hoarded,  Ornate House Grid  cover plate. And I thought “Adobe!” Then I flipped through a little more and I came up with my “Llama Adobe Abode”.  This was a blast to put together, and the coloring was minimal, so it felt easier than usual to me. I started by die cutting the house from a remnant of terra cotta cardstock. I was going to back it with a light and ...

Bri Moodboard inspiration with Davina

Hello Crafty Friends! Davina here with some spooky Moodboard color inspiration. October brought us some traditional Halloween colors to play with, that no one should find difficult to use. The colors this month are Flowing Green, Pumpkin, Electric Violet, and Midnight Blue.  I used tons of Mama Elephant products and a few Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts to bring this card to life. I started by using the new  Mushroom Home  creative cuts to die cut some colored cardstock. I gently inked the edges of the cardstock to create depth. I layered the individual pieces and adhered with liquid glue. Next I stamped many images from multiple Agenda Stamp sets to create my scene. I used  Little Girl Agenda,   Little Witch Agenda,   Little Gnome Agenda , and the  Little Boo Agenda . I colored all of these images with copic markers using colors from the October Moodboard. Then I die cut each image using the coordinating dies.  I cut a few panels for my background with Lawn ...

Sending (a Lotl) hugs with the BRI Moodboard

Good morning crafty friends! Davina here with some cute BRI Moodboard inspiration. Have you seen the September Moodboard yet? It’s so cozy with fall inspired colors like Quartz Pink, Tomato, Moss and Peacock. Very rich and full of Indian Summer Vibes.  I will admit I struggled with ideas initially when thinking of different ideas. Only because I needed a card for a specific purpose, and my brain wanted to make something completely different. I needed a card intended for a boy, and those are always the hardest for me to make. So it became a challenge… I will make a “boy card” using these colors.  My mind turned to critters, and I felt that reptiles were perfect! I used several Lawn Fawn sets that  I could build a segmented scene with. I stamped chameleons from Lawn Fawns   One in a Chameleon  & the  Flip Flop One in a Chameleon  sets. I also stamped branches, leaves and butterflies from the new  Toucan Do It  set. Finally I used the cute a...
