I colored them with Copics , which Vanessa also sells in the store now! I finished the card with a free form cut border and a sentiment from No Tomorrow . Up Up and Away

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting for Butterfly Reflections Ink today! I've got a cute set of cards today, featuring items from Mama Elephant and MFT. Each of my cards started with a white card base. I then stamped a cute critter (or two!) and balloons or umbrellas from the Mama Elephant's Up Up and Away Stamp Set . Before coloring the images, I used MFT's Cloud Stencil and Catherine Pooler Ink  to create skies full of clouds. Then, I colored in the images with colored pencils, and finished with a sentiment from  Up Up and Away . Here's the four that I made, it created such a cute card set! And here's a few detailed shots: Aren't these critters just the sweetest?  All of these products are still available at Butterfly Reflections Ink. Just a reminder that if you see something that is out of stock at the  store , please click the  "Put Me On The Waiting List" butto...

Aww Nuts

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting for Butterfly Reflections Ink today! I've got a fun birthday card for you today. If you are like me, I always miss birthdays so I am in ever need of belated birthday cards. I started stamping lots and lots of acorns from My Favorite Thing's Wild Woodland Stamp Set  and then colored (with ziggies !) and die cut three of them with the coordinating  Wild Woodland Die-namics to accentuate them in the mass pile. I then die cut and colored the squirrel and placed him on top of the acorns and finished the card with a sentiment and some white clouds die cut from My Favorite Things Cloud 9 Die-namics . Aren't these critters from Wild Woodland just the sweetest? I All of these products are still available at Butterfly Reflections Ink. Warm Winter Wishes

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting for Butterfly Reflections Ink! I've got a clean and simple card for you today-they are my favorite to make-that features one simply adorable dancing penguin. I am always in need of cards for after Christmas, when it is too late to send out a holiday card. I like to make winter based cards, and this set available in the shop, called Color Layering Baby Penguin from Hero Arts, fills the bill. I started by masking the penguin image and inking up the front of a card base with blue distress oxide inks , splattering silver watercolor paint from the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors . I then stamped the cute little penguin using the Rock Collection of Altenew Inks . I finished the card by stamping some snowflakes and the sentiment onto some paper cut snow hills. Just a reminder that if you see something that is out of stock at the  store , please click the  "Put Me On The Waiting List" ...

I'm Here For You

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting today! I've created a clean and simple card for you today featuring products from a couple popular companies! Cards that can be given to boys or men are a bit more difficult for me to make, and I often shy away from them. But...every now and then I find that I need one! I have to relook at my supplies and make them work for the guys too. I started by stamping and copic coloring the fun bunny and rug from Honey Bee Design's Blah Bunny Stamp Set . I also stamped the white surrender flag and added some White Blizzard Nuvo Drops . I added them to a mustard card base that was stamped with a sentiment from Honey Bee Design's Prayers Stamp Set . The card was finished with a large sentiment from Honey Bee Design's Blah Blah Blah Stamp Set.  For added interest, I added some design elements with a strip of washi tape from Little B and a perpendicular birch tree from My Favorite Thi...

It's Been Ruff

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting today! I've created a clean and simple, really cute card for you today featuring products from Avery Elle and My Favorite Things available at the  store . I started by creating a light sky background with the MFT Cloud Stencil , a blue cardstock base and white ink. (Love how many options this simple stencil provides!) I then die cut a white fence from the MFT Frightful Fence and some grass in two shades of light green from the MFT Grassy Hills Die-namics . On the top most layer of grass, I die cut Twice the Hugs from MFT so that the darker green could show throw. Then, I stamped and colored the super cute puppy from Avery Elle's More Furry Friends , fussy cut him out and then adhered him to the card. For a finishing touch, I extended my sentiment with a banner from a cute pun, also stamped from  Avery Elle's More Furry Friends . Just a reminder that if you see something that is o...

Just for You

Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and it is an absolute pleasure to be guesting today! I've created a clean and simple, really cute card for you today featuring products from Reverse Confetti available at the  store . I started by creating a custom background from cardstock and the Triple Chevie Die . I selected three coordinating colors, die cut the chevrons and adhered them to a cardstock base, and added a frame. I then stamped and colored the super sweet koala bear from Bear Hugs . I added some freckled details with a White Signo Uniball Pen . The koala was adhered over the chevrons and then I stamped a sentiment using  Bear Hugs  on a die cut banner from MFT's Blueprints 27 . Just a reminder that if you see something that is out of stock at the  store , please click the "Put Me On The Waiting List" button so that Vanessa knows you absolutely need this item and can try to order more!

A Hug and a Smile

I'm so happy to be back here helping out on the Butterfly Reflections Ink Blog today to present this card to you-it showcases some of my favorite stamps and dies and I hope it makes you smile a bit. Karen B. from The Bald Dragonfly  here. I started this simple scene using the Starry Circle Die-Namic to create a circle in the front of my kraft card base (I'll save the stars for another project). I then die cut some trees from the Birch Tree Die-Namics and adhered them to the back of the front of the card, and then backed those with a sky blue piece of cardstock. Then came the fun part! I stamped and fussy cut a gnome from MFT's You Gnome Me and a hedgie from Happy Hedgehogs . They were colored with zigs . I grounded them with a sentiment banner die cut from the smallest banner from  MFT's Blueprints #27 Die-Namic s. I stamped the sentiment from Honeybee's Smile Stamp Set . Such a sweet, clean and simple scene! Just a reminder that if you see something th...

Thank You For Being So Kind (& A Winner!)

One of the best things about the Butterfly Reflections Ink Shop is the variety of items and manufacturers that Vanessa carries (I can't forget to mention the super fast shipping!). It has been an absolute pleasure being on the design team and being able to showcase the products carried at the  store . Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and I've created a thank you card feauturing products from many companies. The background was created with Concord & 9th's Tree Ring Stamp , and the focal point of the deer is from Altenew's Modern Deer . The sentiment is from Concord & 9th's Kindhearted Stamp Set and Kind Card Frame Add-on Die , along with a banner from  MFT's Blueprints #27 Die-Namic . This card also features a border from MFT's Mini Fringe Die-Namic and English Mustard Nuvo Drops . Last week we held a blog hop featuring Butterfly Reflections Ink exclusive new stamp sets  #Hashtag-Bossy  and  #Hashtag . Thanks to everyone who part...

Rudolph

I think it is pretty neat that I live less than thirty minutes away from a town called Rudolph. They truly go all out for the holidays! Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and I referenced "the most famous reindeer of all" in my clean and simple card today (they are my most favorite kind to make!). I started with a small, white card base, one that is just big enough to hold a gift card inside. I then bordered another smaller, white panel with kraft and adhered both to the card base. I die cut nine antlers from the small and petite Memory Box Tiny Antler Die and adhered them in a grid fashion. I layered some Little B Black and White Stripes Washi with Ranger's Gold Glitter Tape (love the small width of these tapes!) along with a sentiment banner die cut from  MFT's Blueprints #27 Die-Namic . For the sentiment, I actually typed it out on my grandmother's vintage typewriter, but there are many holiday stamps available at the  store  that you could us...

Dreamer

It's been a week since Vanessa launched her two new stamp sets, and they are both amazing. I adore the powerful, empowering messages they have.  Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and I chose to ink up the #Hashtag Bossy Stamp Set and pair it with one of the sweet bunnies from MFT's Snuggle Bunnies Stamp Set and Die-Namics , as well as MFT's Starry Circle Die-Namic . Aren't they a match made in heaven?? I started with a white cardstock base and die cut the  Starry Circle  from the front flap. I then inked up one of the coordinating smaller sentiments from  #Hashtag Bossy  and stamped it towards the bottom. The larger sentiment from  #Hashtag Bossy  was white heat embossed onto a black tag cut from MFT's Blueprints #27 Die-Namic  and mounted with dimensional adhesive onto the card base. I tucked the little bunny (colored with copics) behind the banner and adhered him to the front of the cardbase. I then  inked up the re...

The Toy Shelf

The holidays are getting closer and closer...and my children are circling their favorites in catalogs and spending a lot of time perusing the toy aisles in anticipation of what might arrive under the tree.  Karen B. from The Bald Dragonfly  here today, bringing a cute card inspired by a child's toy shelf I started with a turquoise card base with the fold to the left, rather than the top. I then die cut a white scalloped border and the "shelf" from MFT's Die-namics Blueprint #27 from white cardstock. (I love the sweet stitching and dainty scallops of this versatile die set!-how about you?) I then stamped, Copic colored and die cut the little girl and stuffed bear from Neat & Tangled's Better Together Stamp Set and dies . I also added some "stuffed toys" from Lawn Fawn's Cheery Christmas Stamp Set . (There are dies for these too, however, I fussy cut these images with a white border.) I tucked all the toys in the shelves, and the...

Bluebird Birthday Wishes

I am a sucker for bluebirds. They hold a special place in my heart and I knew I had to ink up the bird from Wplus9's All Year Cheer Stamp Set in blue and orange when this stamp set made it's way to my crafty desk.  Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , I have a fun and cute card today showcasing stamps and dies from a mix of companies that are available at   the shop ! To create my focal scene, I inked up a soft background with peach and yellow inks onto a white cardstock circle. (I was trying to replicate the transition from summer to fall, therefore I strayed away from the blue sky and vibrant green leaves.) I then stamped the branch and leaves from  Wplus9's All Year Cheer Stamp Set , as well as the bird in various colors of ink. I then bordered the image with  Waffle Flower's Flowers Circle Inverted Dies . This was adhered to a peach cardstock panel and a white cardstock base. I added a strip of die cut grass, similar to MFT's Die-Namics Grassy Fields ...

Blessed To Know You

As the fall season gets further underway, the time for Thanksgiving fast approaches. Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , and I was inspired by the colors that Autumn brings and the time of reflection of the upcoming holiday. I started my card by distress ink blending some orange and red hues onto Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock . This paper was meant for heaving inking of the distress inks, and helps blend the inks with ease. I added some texture by splattering some water onto the panel and picking up the ink with a paper towel. The next step was to die cut a number of birch trees from My Favorite Thing's Birch Tree Die-namics from white cardstock and adhered them to the colored panel with Tombo Mono Adhesive and the center tree with dimensional adhesive . I stamped in Versafine Onyx Black Ink the large, lovely greeting from Right at Home's Script Greeting Stamp Set . The panel was adhered to a white cardstock base, also with dimensional adhesive and then...

Bears and Trees

Karen B. from The Bald Dragonfly  here, with a card creation that features two products from different companies. I really enjoy combining unlikely images to create a fun, clean card. I started this card by stamping with black ink and clear heat embossing with clear powder the Tree Ring from Concord & 9th onto watercolor paper as well as a sentiment from  My Favorite Thing's Forest Friends . Onto a separate piece of watercolor paper, I applied the same treatment to the bear and leaves from  My Favorite Thing's Forest Friends . I colored each image very loosely with Gansai Tambi Watercolors , then die cut the leaves and bear with the My Favorite Things Forest Friends Die-namics . The tree ring panel was mo unted onto a piece of patterned paper from the My Favorite Things Trail Mix 6x6 Paper Pack , which was then mounted to a white card base. I finished the card by adhering the bear and leaves with dimensional adhesive and adding a mixture Nuvo Crystal Drops...

Birthday Bear Hugs

My local zoo was the delightful recipient of two orphaned Kodiak bears from Alaska, and they are thriving in their new environment. They are so fun to watch! These two little guys from Wplus9's Curious Forest Friends stole my heart and I had to have this set to create with! If you are in love with cute critters, this stamp set is for you too! Karen B. from The Bald Dragonfly here showcasing a clean and simple creation. I started by stamping and then masking the two cute bears from  Curious Forest Friends  and then watercoloring a light sky background with Salty Ocean Distress Ink and Zig Markers . I removed the masks and colored the leaves and bears with  Zig Markers s, adding a few details with the Uniball Signo White Pen . I trimmed the panel, being careful to cut around the legs and belly of the bottom bear. Before adding the panel to a white card base that had been stamped with My Favorite Thing's Forest Friends , I added two bordering strips from this really ...

Circus Act

I was a big fan of the circus growing up...until I saw the clowns, that is... This set from Neat & Tangled, Big Top Birthday , is so sweet, it brings back the amazing memories of the magic of the circus. Karen B. here from The Bald Dragonfly , bringing you back to the circus with a fun card that was easy to put together. I started with a speckled cream cardstock base with inked edges and laid strips of alternating red, teal and navy stripes in varying widths across it to reflect a vintage circus tent. The star of the show, though, are the sweet characters from  Big Top Birthday , which I stamped, simply colored with Copics and Zig Markers and die cut using the corresponding Big Top Birthday Dies . I inked these edges and adhered them to the card base. I finished the card with a stamped banner affixed with dimensional adhesive. I think this card would be fun (and you could save a few minutes) by covering the cardstock front with some patterned paper, like the wat...

Majestic Blooms

Majestic Blooms . Sigh. They are so beautiful, aren't they? Karen B. from The Bald Dragonfly here today, excited to be posting my first card for Butterfly Reflections Ink! This card was so easy to put together. I started by stamping out the leaves from Altenew's Beautiful Day  and the bloom from  Majestic Blooms  onto watercolor paper. After applying a coat of clean, clear water onto the images, I started coloring the bloom and leaves with a drop of Color Burst Metals-Saffron and my Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors . After letting the flowers dry, I die cut them using the coordinating dies, Majestic Bloom Dies and Beautiful Day Dies . After applying a green cardstock panel with inked edges to a white card base, I flicked some water droplets onto the background (again with a drop of  Color Burst Metals-Saffron  and  Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors ), stamped the sentiment from  Majestic Blooms  and arranged and adhered the flowers a...
