Butterfly Reflections, Ink

Good Morning Butterfly Reflections Ink Friends! Alix here this morning with my Project using some fun techniques.I usually create cards with soft colors. But this time I want to step out of my comfort zone to create a card that is interesting and great for either boys or girls for their birthday. This layout idea came up to my mind quickly. I created my background with Neat and Tangled Hexastar Stencil , Nuvo mousse in Cornflower blue and Aquamarine , and Ranger Texture Paste in Transparent Gloss. To create this background, I secured my stencil with a little bit washi tape over 110 lbs Cardstock. Then I mixed Nuvo mousse and Texture paste to apply over my stencil. At last, I removed the stencil and let it air dry for 20 minutes. To raise the center part, I cut the center of background using Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangle die , then added foam tape to create the raised dimension. HI guys! Erica on the BRI blog today with a big blooming card using Altenew’s Build-A-Flower Gardenia set. I have had this set in my stash since it was released and I haven’t used it until now but it certainly won’t be the last time. It’s gorgeous!!  I started out by stamping the big bloom twice on Neenah Classic Crest card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink . To colour in the flowers I used the red pens from Altenew’s Artist Markers Set A /Red Cosmos. I like colouring flowers using a flicking technique to create lots of textures, low and highlights on the petals. One of the flowers I made slightly darker as the idea was to place them in such a way that the shadow from the first flower would make the second one darker naturally. Hi everyone, It's Jenny here and I'm back with another fall/autumn themed card, despite the fact that the weather here in New York is glorious and super hot!  (Seems like we are getting another last gasp of summer!) The card I'm showing today uses a very versatile design, and is so quick and easy.  Several of the new Carta Bella stencils in stock, or many of the repeating pattern stencils could be used for this technique, and with so many Nuvo Mousse colors and glitter colours, the sky is the limit!! The stencil I used today is the Carta Bella Fall Leaves stencil.  I love the all over pattern this creates, and the detail in the leaves is fabulous.  Stencils are one of my favorite card making supplies as there are so many ways to use them and they're great on the wallet. Hi friends - it's HUMP day!! Welcome back! This week I have a simple CAS card inspired by one of the cards in  THIS  post. I stamped the Altenew largest peony on Ranger Watercolor paper and embossed; I wanted to keep the card very clean so I only added the 2nd layer stamp to the image - same with the leaves. Once they were stamped, I die cut and added shading with Prismacolor pencils. I created a frame for the flower with two of the MFT stitched dies then added a layer of Nuvo Platinum Mousse colored with Lawn Fawn Sugar Plum - IT IS SOOOO SPARKLY!! Once it dried, I added some additional ink around the bottom edges of the frame for a bit of an ombre look. I then added a heavy layer of shimmer mist to the flower and leaves before adhering everything together.
